I am rejecting this response because: I will give you a call I work Monday threw Friday 8- 5:I understand you provide a service I am a licensed cosmetologist I have experience in hair, skin and nails I have worked with the public my whole careerThe issue was the quality of service my niece wanted her nails shorter and you got mad about it clipped her nails harder you were obviously hurting her, my acrylics were so thick they were painful I had to removed them a few days laterI am not the type of person to call somebody out especially if they have clients being servicedI didn't want them fixedBeing in the service industry I understand that's why I felt compelled to say something and request my refund I would never treat clients like that the customers right mentality works. There shouldn't have been an issue but if someone doesn't feel comfortable saying somethingI am sorry I went about it this way but I felt it necessary I will contact you back after work todayThank you for your cooperation

The price of a pedi is 20.00 that ONLY includes a nail change and a trim NOTHING ELSE they will hand you a peice of paper with what the real cost is once you set down and put your feet in the water!! DON'T GO TO Q NAILS you will get ripped off and the treatment is aweful!! Read their reviews not one positive one!!

Review: First of all I myself and my minor sister in law whom as a thank you accompanied me earlier this evening to this so called "salon". She has injuries to a couple of herbfingers some of which bled and though she said "ouch you're hurting me", more than once the woman who's selectively poor english made communication troublesome from the start mostly ignored her except once when I spoke after seeing her poor hamburgered fingers the salon attendant replied"oh you are fine" while grabbing her hand to reinspect and than slap it away telling her coworkers something in their native language to which they all laughed, leaving us both embarrassed, angry, her in pain. Also when first arrived I told them that I needed an ACRYLIC color change and a back fill. I asked how much for that to which they replied $15 which is their advertised price within the salon posters, etc. Than I politely expained that my younger sister would like an ACRYLLIC full set, and how much would that be to which I was informed $25 which is again the advertised in and around salon price. They asked us what colors we wanted we picked out the ACRYLIC sparkle color tips we both wanted. Not only did they not do acryllic they used the more expensive specifically rejected gel, they used a color tip which wasnt right color or finsh on her but than again asked if we wanted gel top coat on her we both stated just a clear coat of polish would be perfect. They put the gel on anyways and set her to the UV light to cure the nails. As for myself I had acrylic tips with a gel top coat which is suppoded to be soaked off and wss brutally filed off. Than I was flat out ignored and watchef in anger as my instruction request was completely and blatantly ignored due to very convienant poor english yet again. Poorly, sloppily, & incompletly she paunted the tips of my atrocities. Again I said I was unhappy and didnt like what was being done. I was than told I wasnt being charged "color change to placate me as than I was charged $70, & refused explanationDesired Settlement: I would like my money back for both sets so $70, also some sortof disciplinary action for the awful and rude service amd treatment. I also would like to know where to complain to about her damages to her finger s. Thank you, your time and attenion to these matters is greatly appreciated.

Response:

Sorry for the delayed response. After carefully reviewed the video, my manicurist did not do anything wrong. The price was agree upon the clients before the work event started. These customers were not complaining at all when getting their nails done and leaving satisfied as I understood. I would like them to come back to the store and ask for the manager since I do not understand what went wrong after their leave the salon and I need to know.

I went into Q nails as a new customer for an eyebrow wax recently. When I arrived at the salon, a woman pointed at the back room where waxing was done and told me to go take a seat without any greeting or service whatsoever. When she came into the room to perform my eyebrow wax, I began to tell her what I wanted from the service hoping to get them the way I wanted. She proceeded to shout at me "I know how to do it!" with an angry tone. I believe that a person in a service industry, especially beauty should have respect for clients and their wishes when it comes to the way they want to look so they can have satisfied customers. Once she was half-way through the wax, she left the room for an extended period of time to answer a phone call and chat with other employees in the salon. I was left laying on a table waiting for my service while the woman socialized!
I also noticed that while waxing, she repeatedly used the same stick to dip into the wax that she was using on me. "Double dipping" a waxing stick into hot wax after using it on a clients skin is unsanitary and can spread infections and bacteria!
Once she had completed the wax, I checked a mirror to see what she had done. I have sensitive skin so I can easily tell where I have waxed by the bright red tone of my skin. From this, I could tell that she not only completely ignored my request for how I wanted my eyebrows to look but she also had a large gap between where my eyebrow was and where she waxed. Basically I paid ten dollars to have my raw sin waxed instead of having my eyebrows shaped like I had intended. They also did not provide any kind of skin care after the waxing was complete like most salons do to calm the irritation after a waxing.
The service at this salon is below par. The woman who served me was abrasive, rude and unacceptable. When my service was complete she rushed me to the register to get my money as quickly as possible. The sanitary issue of "double dipping" in the wax was also a red flag to the sanitary practices of this salon.

Review: I went into Q Nails around 6 pm on Sunday June 16, 2013. I was thrilled at first, because it was closing time, and I was looking to get a full acrylic set and a pedicure, and they were willing to stay open for me. I paid $80 for my entire set of pampering. Wednesday, the 19th, I woke up to find my second (pointer) finger on my right hand swollen, inflamed and red. Thursday, the 20th, my finger is twice the normal size, and there are red lines crawling up my wrist. So I went to urgent care, where I was diagnosed with cellulitis, aka staph infection, and prescribed antibiotics for treatment. I will never go back.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my service ($80) plus compensation of my medical costs.

Business

Response:

I would love to see the doctor's diagnosed and reason caused it.

You got both pedicure and manicure done at our shop on Sunday, if you got the bacteria from our shop the infection would occur with in 24 hours in contact. So I don't think you get it from Qnails. Sorry but I cannot refund your money.

Review: I had received a gift certificate from this business from a family memeber. The family memeber paid this business thirty five dollars for this gift. The business wrote a time that this money would expire. I find it illogical that thirty five dollars can expire. I completely understand it needs to be done in a timely fashion, but given certain circumstances I was unable to come to their place of business and spend my gift certificate. I am very unhappy with the way they have treated me and taken money without providing any services.Desired Settlement: I wish that they would make good on their offer to preform the services on which the gift certificate was purchased for.

Business

Response:

This is Steve, the owner of Q-Nails

I am responding to the complain with the ID [redacted]

The client presented us with a paper gift certificate that bought on December 21 of 2012, and clearly stated that it will be invalid as of December 21 of 2013. The date she presented to us was August 10, 2014, it was well over the expiration date, and we told her we cannot take it. We always told the client that bought the gift that it will expired in 1 year, because of the expense of tracking and bookkeeping of the record, we can only provide services within 1 year of the date of purchase.

We feel like that we did nothing wrong, provided that we clearly stated the sale date and the expiration date.

Thanks,

Steve

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am dissatisfied with this because as I had originally went to where the gift certificate was purchased on the Q nails on Franklin road the manager over there informed me that his gift certificate were not to expire and in the future if I wished to purchase one that I could us them any time. I was offended at that because that does not help the fact that your business took the thirty five dollars and spent it and in now way provided any service. I understand time limit but when it comes to money a year is alittle ridiculous. Your business is stiLloyd opend so when is it and inconvienece to provide the service that was paid for. I am very unhappy with the way this business is run and managed.

Review: I would like to make a complaint in reference to poor service I recieve at Q Nails at the 3940 Valley Gateway Blvd, Roanoke, VA location on Dec. 24, 2012. I went in for a manicure. During the manicure the manicurist cut my cuticle, at which time it started to bleed. She made several attempts to stop the bleeding but it did not stop. At that point, I took it upon myself to not proceed with the manicure. I was still charged $12 for the service in spite of what happened. I got the name & number of who I needed to contact for complaints. I contacted [redacted] immediately after leaving via phone # provided, as well as, by e-mail attaching a picture of my nail. I never recieved a response. I attempted to call Q Nails on Dec. 28th but was told [redacted] was not in. I also sent another e-mail advising that I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. I have attached a picture.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for "service".

Review: I went to Q-Nails to get a new set if gel nails put on. My old set of nails needed to be taken off first so I asked if they could do this and she said yes. I asked how much would this cost and she said for gel nails it would be 45 dollars and that taking off my old set would be no charge. I've had this done at other nail salons and they soak my nails in acetone before hand to get my old set off. I assumed this is what they would do at Q-nails. I sat in the owners chair and she was the one that did my nails. She looked and my nails and started clipping of the edges that had lifted a little and then took a tip (fake finger nail) and was trying to loosen my old set of gel nails from my natural nail bed when she was having trouble separating the two she took the nail clippers and tried chipping and pulling off my nails. I asked her if she was going to soak my nails she ignored me and continued on trying to clip and pull my nails off tearing my actual nail bed off with the gel. It hurt so bad that I was jumping and pulling my hand back. I then asked again didn't she think we should soak them off. She gets to my ring finger on the right hand she grabs ahold of a corner piece and pulls taking part of my nail bed with it. It hurt so bad I pulled my finger away and the ladies behind me we making noises like they could feel my pain as she did this. After my finger quit stinging and burning I noticed she ripped part of my nail bed off and it was raw and bleeding and not only that one but three if them. After she sees what she has done she starts to be a little more gentle yet still not soaking my nails before she clips and pulls. When all my old nails are off I should have left but I'm way too nice ( maybe stupid) I asked if it was going to be ok to now put gel product on the exposed nail beds she says yes. Well you am imagine the burning an stinging I went through. In the end she says 45 dollars. I give her the money she said thank you for me hurting you. No sorry. My Fingers throb all night & next day!Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and apology and that it is made mandatory at their salon to soak their clients nails off instead of trying to just tear them off and leaving the clients nail bed bleeding, raw, sore and now open for infection.

Response:

I would like the date of service and type of payment.

Based on the complaint, I would not understand why someone just sit and let other people tortured you like that (if the process was painful). If I am in that position and just get up and walk out, why just keep going and now complaint about the normal process of taking the old set of nails off and putting on a new set.

Consumer

Response:

I went to Qnails on Wednesday evening 6/19/13 at approximately 7:30pm. I paid for my nails in cash with a 50 dollar bill. I did not get up and leave like I should have for a couple reasons. I tend to be on the overly nice side and tend worry about what other may think of me rather then what's best for me. I was going out of town the next day and was not going to be back until Sunday evening. I needed to return to work Monday and did not want to 1, go around with my right hand old nails torn/clipped off and bleeding and have my left hand with my old set of nails still attached and 2, by this time it was too late to go anywhere else because most places were already closed or getting ready to closing time and would not have enough time to take the nails off my left hand and put on a whole new set. Plus with the way my nails were torn and bleeding on the right hand there is noway another nail salon would have put a set of nails on top of the raw bleeding nail beds on my left hand. I was not going to have time to go anywhere in the morning or even the next evening for that matter because I ws leaving in the am. So I continued to sit there in pain and ask the owner to soak my nails. It was after she saw how bad my ring finger was on my right hand that she decided to go a little gentler with my other hand as you will see in pictures my left hand is not bleeding like the right hand but you can see that by taking off the nails the way she did it did result in tearing layers of my natural nail off. After seeing what she had done to the right hand she then took the little glass jar smaller then a shot glass full of acetone that is used to dip their brush in before they dip it in the acrylic she had me put my pinky finger in the little container to soak my finger well she only had my pinky nail in thre for maybe 2 minutes then proceded to take her drill and tried to use the drill to take my nails off. although she did try to be a little bit more careful with my left hand she still should hve had me soak my old nails in acetone for the accurate amount of time. I have pictures of my nails and I have shown many nail technicians that cannot believe Qnails did what they did. I have also been contacted by several people that have had similar events happen to them and they refuse to ever go back to Qnails.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Response:

I do not except the fact she is not willing to refund my money. I know that there were two ladies that witnessed her taking off my nails and they were even making noises and gestures in response to me saying "ouch" and pulling my hand away and shaking it and holding holding my hand cuz it hurt so bad when she was tearing off my nails. There was also another lady that paid with a debit card that was sotting right next to me drying. She was not near me when they were being taken off but if we need wittnesses to confirm that I was there and with my pictures it should be very clear. They paid with a debit/credit card. If we need witnessed to prove my case then we can track down those two ladies if we pull Q-nails debit/credit card transactions on this day and time. Plus I have many picture to show what my nails looked like after she tore them off and my mail beds were bleeding. The lady even knew she hurt me because when she asked for the payment and when I handed it to her she made light of it and said "ah for me to hurt you". She knew what she had done and that she hurt me!! I can also point out the other two mail techs working that evening. I feel that the very least they could do is refund my money. I have photos I would like to submitt if you feel they are needed? Thank you for your help.

Review: My three daughters and I went into Q Nails on June 14, 2012 to have four full sets of nails done for my wedding on June 16, 2012. My 12 year old daughter's nails started to lift on the edges on June 15, 2012 in the morning ~ we didn't go back to Q Nails that day because we were traveling to our wedding destination. Yes, I probably should have called on Friday to let the man know her nails were lifting but I had other things on my mind, like getting ready for my wedding rehearsal, my wedding and my honeymoon. When we got back to town from our wedding destination late June 18th my husband said he was going to call Q Nails on June 19th, which he did, at which time he set up a time to take our 12 year old back in to have her nails fixed. My husband took our daughter into Q Nails on June 19th to have her nails fixed. At this time, the man who was going to "fix" her nails YELLED at her and told her she shouldn't have gone swimming right after she had her nails done (which we did not swim because we were packing and getting ready to leave for our wedding), that the nails lifting was HER FAULT and almost had her in tears. He blamed her for her nails lifting and instead of fixing her nails, he removed them.Neither myself nor anyone I know will ever go to Q Nails because of lack of quality (three of my nails, not even 8 days later have fallen off) and I will not return because of how my 12 year old daughter was yelled at and treated by a man who is supposedly suppose to be a professional! I can not believe a grown man would yell in the face of a 12 year old while fixing/removing the fake nails he put on a few days earlier. The man did give my husband $15 out of the $100 total I paid BUT that is not enough to repair my daughter's terrible experience. She doesn't even want to return to get her nails done.Desired Settlement: I would like all of my money returned but I am not expecting that to happen because the man was absolutely unprofessional and I don't expect anything from a man/business who would allow a grown man to yell at a 12 year old little girl while trying to "fix/remove" her nails that were defective from the very beginning.

Dear [redacted]:

I am writing in response to a case assigned ID 9099524. I have been doing nail services for fifteen years, and at this business (Q Nails) we attempt to resolve customer complaints and strive to make improvements to both our business and customer relationship. I take great pride in servicing nail beauty for my customers as they keep us in business.

The mother and her three daughters came in to have four full sets on June 14, 2012 in preparation for the mother's wedding. At this salon, one full set costs $30. As generosity, I discounted $5 off per full set; instead of costing $120 total, the final price was $100. After the services were done, the mother paid the $100 and the family left.

A little more than a week later, the dad called in to discuss the problem that the nails on his daughter were ‘popping’ off. I responded that I would repair for free. I did not see the appearance or received any complaints of the nails of the other three members, so I assumed that the family members were fine.

On June 25 for a 12:15 appointment, the father brought in the daughter to have the nails repaired 17 minutes late. When the daughter showed me her hands, I observed that the acrylic/fake nails on one of the hands were fine, but the acrylic nails on the other hand appeared to be slightly bitten. In addition, the fake nails had grown out of the base caused by growing natural nails on both hands. All the fake nails were intact; this was different to what the nails were described to be 'popped off' (fake nails not present with the natural nails). In many professions, people commonly discuss to their customers on caring for their product. I explained to the girl and her father that acrylic nails can be affected by many reasons. I gave an example to them that the water from swimming can soak into the fake nails, which can affect how long the fake nail stays. During the attempt to repair her fake nails, the girl inconveniently moved her hands as I was gently working, creating a difficult work setting. So as a result, I offered to the girl to remove her nails and refund some money from her full set back to her. I explained to her that the beauty from the fake nails does not last long. Customers typically return from one to three weeks, depending on how their daily tasks affect the nails. I also explained that the fake nail moves with the growing natural nail. As a result in a one week period, the beauty of the nails will not look as good as it did when serviced because of natural nail growth taking the fake nails with it; a fill service is performed to maintain the fake nails' appearance. After she talked to her father about the offer, she agreed to it (removal and refund). So for this service, I removed the acrylic nails by soaking the nails into acetone, to loosen the nails as I could not remove them, and refunded $15 to the father. Nail removal costs $10. After the service was done, she tipped me $2, but I refused to receive it for the reason that she was young and did not have a job (as learned from a friendly conversation between her, her father, and me). At the end, the daughter and father left, appearing to have satisfaction.

In contrast to the story that the mother provided, I did not yell. That would be uncivil and unprofessional especially in a business setting, and her father was there, sitting behind her. In both separate appointments, we (the business) felt that we treated them with respect and in a professional manner.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9099524, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I just read the response the business owner offered and I'm very upset at his response because there are several things that are NOT correct! I will address the points that are incorrect one at a time.

1. Paragraph three, the business owner stated "A little more than a week later, the dad called in to discuss the problem that the nails on his daughter were ‘popping’ off." I did take my three girls in to have our nails done on June 14th and it was NOT more than a week later, it was FIVE days later as we were out of town until LATE Monday evening, June 18th. My husband called on Tuesday morning (June 19th) and made an appointment for noon that day. We were 12-15 minutes late to our appointment but we did call and let him know we were going to be a little bit late and he said that would be fine.

2. Paragraph four the business owner stated "On June 25 for a 12:15 appointment, the father brought in the daughter to have the nails repaired 17 minutes late." This statement is incorrect because the appointment we made was on June 19th and not the 25th as the business owner stated. Yes, we were late but we did call and the man stated that was fine.

3. Paragraph four the business owner stated "I observed that the acrylic/fake nails on one of the hands were fine, but the acrylic nails on the other hand appeared to be slightly bitten." This is a false statement as NONE of my girls have or have ever "bitten" their nails. Also, my daughters nails were NOT "popping off", they were "lifting" is what my husband TOLD Mr. [redacted] when he called.

4. Paragraph four the business owner stated "In many professions, people commonly discuss to their customers on caring for their product. I explained to the girl and her father that acrylic nails can be affected by many reasons. I gave an example to them that the water from swimming can soak into the fake nails, which can affect how long the fake nail stays." NOTE: I, the mother of said child, have had fake nails off and on for many years. I know what to do and what not to do when you have fake nails to keep them looking beautiful as long as possible. The owner of Q Nails accused my daughter of swimming with her new nails (which myself nor none of my children swam with their nails at all), he did not give an example, he accused her of swimming in quite a rude manner!!

5. Paragraph four the business owner stated "During the attempt to repair her fake nails, the girl inconveniently moved her hands as I was gently working, creating a difficult work setting." I'm so sorry that my TWELVE year old daughter wasn't the ideal customer for Mr. [redacted] but by this point in time she was afraid of him because he was rude, raising his voice to her about her "swimming before her nails had time to set" and she thought he was very mad at her for her nails lifting. My daughter and husband agreed to have her nails removed because my daughter was afraid to continue to let Mr. [redacted] continue working on her nails.

6. Paragraph four the business owner stated "After the service was done, she tipped me $2, but I refused to receive it for the reason that she was young and did not have a job (as learned from a friendly conversation between her, her father, and me). At the end, the daughter and father left, appearing to have satisfaction." The business owner did NOT learn this information by a friendly conversation because my twelve year old daughter did have a summer job (making her own money) dog sitting for a man who works 12-16 hour days. And yes, they left "appearing to have satisfaction" because how else would they have left? They had no other choice as a way to leave because the owner was done dealing with them because the nails were removed.

7. Paragraph five the business owner stated "In contrast to the story that the mother provided, I did not yell. That would be uncivil and unprofessional especially in a business setting, and her father was there, sitting behind her. In both separate appointments, we (the business) felt that we treated them with respect and in a professional manner." YES, the owner DID, in fact, YELL at my child! He was UNCIVIL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. When they got home from the appointment both my daughter and husband were upset and stated "the guy actually yelled" at my daughter for "swimming before her nails were set up". I was very upset and angry that anyone would treat someone, let alone a twelve year old child, in that manner.

Mr. [redacted] has mislead the Revdex.com in his response and whether he makes this right or not, I WILL NOT return to his place of business and I will tell my family, friends and everyone I know that they are rude, unprofessional people. I do NOT agree with ANYONE yelling, raising their voice or being rude to anyone let alone a twelve year old!

Regards,

Review: I went to Q Nail on 2/12/2014 with my husband [redacted], and our friend [redacted] to get our nails done and my husband got his feet and hands done. My total was $140, I paid $170 $10 tips per nail technician. Well it is now almost 2 months later I have had all my nails grow out and fall off except 4 and the 4 that are still on have started to bruise, I have tried soaking my nails for hours and the still will not come off. Well I looked at my pinky nail today because it snagged on my daughters bed, when I looked at my nail I noticed a crack in the middle of my real nail and the acrylic has started taking my real nail with it. When I called today I explained to them what was going on with my nails and the lady who answered the phone told me oh well its not her problem and hung up on me. I do have my bank statements stating I made the purchase and I do have photos of my nails. This is unsanitary I'm not to sure on how long my nail has been open like this and I'm afraid of infection.Desired Settlement: I want my FULL refund and these nails taken off.

First of all when I got the call I thought it was a joke, and when she stopped by the shop I offered to take the last 4 nails off for her but she demanded a refund. I am sorry but there is no refund for services done 2 months earlier. When you get artificial nails done you need to maintain them by getting them refill every 2 to 3 weeks or remove them by a professional. I am sure she tried to remove by herself but the solution she had is not professional grade and will not do any good for her.

After 2 to 3 weeks your real nails grown out and you are not taking care of them and started to caught on things then it is not my responsibility.

Review: Im reporting a Health hazardous concern for customers (instruments are not sterilized).I went for a pedicure on 08/**/14 with Tina. On Tuesday 08/**/14 I left work early due to nail infection, I went with my doctor and was diagnose with cellulitis, my doctor was concern because the red stripes were spreading on top of my foot. He gave me antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory medication. Well that evening, I had to go to the emergency and was treated for cellulitis on toe nail cause severe pain, pus buildup. The doctor drained the fluids and put me on IV for antibiotics because she was concerned about the infection spreading into my bloodstream. I am still under my doctor care, still taking antibiotics for another week, and then I will start antifungal treatment. Also I went to the nail saloon on 08/**/14 spoke to [redacted](manager)advised the situation and requested that I need assistance for my medical bills, requested to speak to the owner to notify the concern, she withheld that information. She wanted to take pictures of my foot and wanted my doctor information. On 08/**/14 I explained to owner what happened and whats going on and he told me man that story sounds great, he said" why dont you go to [redacted]"... He stated that I made a mistake by going to the hospital and getting treatment. That I should have contacted him first, and then he could tell if they were responsible for the infection and then I could go with his insurance and they take care of me. The owner was very unprofessional, used vulgar language, and threaten me if I went to the nail shop he would call the cops. I requested his name and he didnt provide that to me, wouldnt give me the phone number to file a health complaint to the state and he said didnt you get the phone number yesterday. I said, Yes I did but its not a working number. I never got the phone number and he disconnected the phone call. I also lost half of my nail due to the nail infection..Desired Settlement: to be remiburse my medical expenses

Review: On 8/22/14 my girlfriend and I had went to this place of business to get services done. when I went to get a pedicure done the lady did not tell she had cut my foot and I proceeded to ask for a Band-aid cause I was bleeding. I have been in the beauty industry for over 14 years and anytime you cut a customer you never charge them for that service. so I am asking for my $35.00 back and...Also I called back to speak with the manager on 8/23/14 she said that she didnt cut me..and there was nothing she could do..I dont get a random cut from nothing..that to me is the worst customer service I have ever had. I would like this taken care of..thanks for your time.Desired Settlement: All I ask is to get my money back for my service and for that lady to be better educated on the services and customer service.

I am sorry that I cannot do what you are asking for. Since you called and demanded your money back I asked you to come in for me to see where you were cut and you refused to do so. I was surprised that you paid for your services and waited a day later to called in and asking for money back. If you were cut at the time of service why did you say something to the manager.
