Neglegent Company
First of all, I did not find these reviews a year ago when I found this company Last year I was quoted $6,300 for an asphalt job on my driveway. This spring I was ready, and the price went up $200. They were still the best price with the highest being $7,100.

The company arrived on April 30th to do that job. It looked fantastic. Four hours later, a fire broke out in my garage caused by a torch used to fuse the edges. I learned that this was because they let the asphalt cool, and the torch was a means to correct their mistake.

As it was, there were scorch marks all along my foundation and on the lower level of aluminum siding on the garage. Apparently the torch was left at an extended period on the left corner where there is a depression in the paving. This concentrated exposure from the torch heated up the corner support and ignited the fire. With aluminum being a heat conductor, the heat spread all around the garage. Damage exceeded $40,000.

While my insurance company went to Quality for recovery, the story has it that their coverage would not pay for full damages. In the process, there is an additional $3,000 that I am being held to pay for the damage. I am in disagreement since I was not responsible for the fire, and any company of this nature should surely carry a minimum of $1,000,000 in Liability Insurance.

Defects became noticeable shortly after the fire, and they were reported. The manager ignored Email for three weeks until I responded with the phrase, "I wish to hear from you immediately before it becomes necessary to take alternative action." That got his attention. He gave a vague response about a work order to address the paving faults, and they would be addressed when they come back to do a "Sealing Coat" in 6-12 months.

Today it rained, and standing puddles indicate the presents of a term called "duck ponds" when there are depressions in pavement. This is the source for slip and fall spots in the winter when ice will form in those areas. Accordingly waiting the vague period of 6-12 months is not a satisfactory answer nor solution. Obviously these matters need correction before the winter and six months would be appropriate, if not sooner. I am considering taking legal action at this point.

Review: After I had my driveway redone and I inspected the work, I found many discrepancies with the job completed. The siding of my house was melted by a machine used by the workers (the owner admitted), I have puddles in my driveway when it rains, and there's water seeping in the basement from the driveway. I have contacted the company numerous times and still haven't gotten a response on when the repairs will be made.Desired Settlement: I would like it all fixed.

Review: We had our driveway installed by Quality Paving and had a 1 year guarantee against cracking, etc.

Over the winter, there was a crack that appeared and after a letter and numerous phone calls to the

company, there has not been a response.

Our salesperson, Michael T[redacted] said it would be repaired and is an "easy fix" but we are still

awaiting a call back to repair the crack.Desired Settlement: We would like the crack repaired or a credit to allow another company to repair the crack.

Review: A salesman Mike T[redacted] from Quality Paving came to my home and wrote up a contract to re-pave my driveway in the sum of $5,000.Mike T[redacted] took a $600.00 depsit with a balance on the contract of $4,400 to be paid when the work was completed.Date of contract was 8-11-2015 and they left a four week window to perform a one day job starting from 9-20-2015 to 10-20-2015.I never saw or heard from anyone from Quality Paving.

I called the company on 11-02-2015 to tell them the contract had lapsed. They had told me they were very behind but no one gave me a heads up on anything from the day of the contract. At this point in time I told them that I want my deposit back. The owner Kevin said no problem, how ever they ignore my calls and no one gets back to me.I would appreciate help from any who at this point.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would appreciate my $600.00 deposit back.

Services contracted in October 2012. Estimated project time of 4 days but remains incomplete and large equipment abandoned in middle of front lawn.Contracted services in October 2012. Timeline communicated by [redacted] was 4 days, weather allowing. Initial agreement were for $5,500 of services ($800 trench + $4,700 other). This was subsequently amended to $12,000 to include top coating the entire driveway. Details of $5,500 agreement is as follows: $800 trench work materials $500, labor $300 (status is partially completed ); $4,700 Dig out straight away & lower portion of driveway (completed), 6" asphalt base gravel & compact (not started), 2" baby binder & compact (not started), Add clean fill to bring to level - per [redacted] the material cost is $0 as he had to clear from another site (partially complete), Loom wall area & approximately 1/2 of center island grass (not started), Seal coat any remaining original asphalt (not started).[redacted] was given an initial deposit of $1,200 on 10/12/12 (check #[redacted] cleared the bank 10/16/12). An addition $4,800 10/22/12 (check #[redacted] cleared the bank 10/22/12) was provided as requested to cover the cost of paving material required for the job. Work began but progressed slowly even though the weather was good. [redacted] contracted, started and completed another driveway in the neighborhood while working on our job. In late October, [redacted] approached me to and told me that his estimate was off and he needed an additional $1-2,000 to complete the job. I did not find that appropriate and pointed out that we had an agreement. A day or so after this conversation, a large paving machine was deposited in the middle of my front yard. [redacted] declared that the machine did not work and he would have to fix it before work could continue. After which, the job site was abandoned. Both my husband & I had spoken with [redacted] last October and November to find out what his intentions were, agree a plan forward and then later to request that he remove his equipment until work resumed. The equipment remains in my front yard and [redacted] has not returned any of our calls from late last year or this spring.Desired Settlement1)The equipment to be removed from my front yard (without causing damage to my driveway or lawn).2) $4,000 of the $6,000 total given to [redacted] be refunded.

I can't reach the owner to request a refund fora prepaid service (seal coating our driveway)that we no longer want due to delays and lack of contactEarly in the week of July 28 we saw a paving crewdoing work for a neighbor. I invited them to give me an estimate a frost heave near the street end of our driveway. I was given a price that seemed fair and told them to do the patch which they did the next day. The people were friendly and the work seemed to have been well done so when they offeredto seal coat the driveway for an additional $50 Ipaid in advance to lock in what I thought was avery good price. The said they'd be back in thenext few days to do the sealing but never came back. They responded to only one of the voice mails I left saying they'd try to do the work that weekendbut never showed up or called. I left several more voice mails (the few times their mailbox wasn't full) and two emails making it very clear thatI thought they had taken too long and that I wanted my $50 back as soon as possible. One problem I have is that I was never given a written estimate/proposal by the pavers. Another problem is that I paid in cash ($450 for both thepatch and the seal coat) and wasn't offered a receipt so I have no paperwork at all.I know that without documentation I don't have any leverage but I'm hoping you people can persuade the ownerto right by us if only to protect his businessreputation.I'm sure that he realizes that one very vocal unhappy customer cancels out a whole bunch of satisfied ones. Please do whatever you can.Thank youDesired SettlementAll we want is our $50 back, in cash and soon. We're on S.S. and that's a lot of money for us.

We paid [redacted] for a job that he has not completed. All efforts to get in touch with [redacted] have failed. On June 17, 2012, we signed a contract and sent payment to [redacted] of Quality Paving to install a second driveway for us. We were advised by [redacted] after he installed the second driveway that he could not sealcoat the driveway until it settles and would be back in the Spring to complete the job. I called him in August to touch base with him. We were in the process of having a farmer's porch added and he advised to call him back when it was done. We have had nothing but commitment issues with [redacted] since this whole process began. Needless to say, we are almost into the fall and [redacted] will not return my phone calls or my husbands phone calls. Today, I emailed him as a last ditch effort. At this point, I sincerely feel as though we were part of a scam. He was paid in full for a job that he did not complete. While I do not have the exact amount right now, I can go to our bank and get a copy of the cashed checks.I would greatly appreciate any assistance that you can provide. Thank you.Desired SettlementI would like for [redacted] to come and complete the job he was paid to do or to refund some of our money so we can hire someone else to complete the job.
