this business is very dishonest about their repair work. I request my refund back.dear sir/madamfirst, I apologized that I have to take this matter this far to get your attention, and I will greatly appreciated if you could help me resolve this matter in any way possible.I have a [redacted] friday, 8/21/2015, which was towed to the Quality Tire & auto service, located at [redacted], to be fixed, I called them around 11 am, while the car is on its way to the shop, told them my car is stalling while driving, have them diagnose the problem(cost $50), then they called me back around 2 pm, told me that the cam shaft positioning sensor need to be replaced, the total is $225, I asked them, are you guys sure that will fix the problem, they told me, "yes, my mechanics have been working on cars for years, they know what they talking about", then I gave them the permission to do the work, and I also asked them to replace my ac belt, they said the total would be $285 with the ac belt replaced, I said fine, and then I called them back 2-3 min later to confirm if replacing that sensor will fix the car,(b/c had the same problem with them 1.5 year ago, which we won't get into the detail this time, figure I will try them out one more time), once again, I was reassure by the girl that answered the phone, replacing that sensor will fix the car(stalling). then about an hour later, a guy from the repair shop called me back said the I have to go to the[redacted] dealer to get a part for them to put the AC belt on, and were told which will not affect the driving functionality of the vehicle, I then told them don't worry about the ac, just fix the car. then the total would be $225. Around 4 pm on that same day, the repair shop called me said the car is fixed, and ready to be picked up, I got there a few minutes late, paid them $225 cash, got the key, start the car, THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED, THE CAR IS STILL STALLING, I went back in, told them the issue, they called out a mechanic to look at it, NOW they said the timing belt MIGHT be bad, I tried to reason with them that I brought my car here to have it fixed, paid them diagnostic fee to figure out what's causing the stalling, and to have the car fixed, after they confirmed with me TWICE on the phone that replacing that cam shaft position sensor WILL fix the stalling problem, now after they told me over the phone that the car is fixed, and paid them, and realizing my car is still not fixed, now they said it might or should be the timing belt.I requested them to take the new part out, put my old part back in, refund my payment, they denied it, said "they have a mechanic worked on it for hours," that the refund will not happen, and they have fixed ONE OF THE PROBLEMS,and I have to pay them more to fix more "POSSIBLE PROBLEMS". this is extremely wrong way of doing any business in the United States, I feel they have strongly taking advantage of me, thank you so much in advance for your special attention on this matter.thanks[redacted]Desired SettlementEITHER REFUND MY PAYMENT, OR FIX THE CAR AT PRICE I ALREADY PAID THEM.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] - Office ManagerContact Phone: (252) [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Mr [redacted], You brought your vehicle to Quality Tire for a problem with it stalling out. Our mechanic checked the codes that were listed and test drove it to see the problem for himself and that's always where you have to start. The part we replaced is part of the timing, the sensor must be changed first in order to even check the timing. The car was running fine after he was done replacing the sensor, it sat outside for four hours before you returned to pick it up. Unfortunately, the vehicle was not running the same once again. We then proceeded to tell you that your timing was the problem and it needed to be fixed. The car had many issues as to which it came to our shop on a wrecker. After we told you the problem you became EXTREMELY rude to our secretary and began using foul language and throwing your hands in the air which caused her to actually become scared of you. If you would have acted like a decent human being and took the time to listen and understand your problem we could have resolved this in a different way. We will not be giving you a refund, and we told you to take the vehicle to the dealer because as it states inside our office.. we do not fix timing. Also, after the blow up you had in our office on one of our secretary's we will not permit you to come back to Quality Tire. Good luck, and best wishes.Consumer Response The secretary told me that replacing the sensor would fix the issue. Regardless of what the mechanic said to the secretary, she told me this would fix it. This caused me to spend unnecessary amount of money... then you say oh the timung belt may be the problem? The mechanic that has now fixed my car stated that if it were the timing belt the car wouldnt even be running. You couldnt even start the car. This mechanic has over 30 years of experience. So maybe your mechanic did nothing wrong by his account. But the secretary did relay the wrong information which led to me making the wrong decision. Thats alot of money for me to spend for no reason. Thats money I could spend on my family.
