Quality Tire Reviews (2)

Dealing with HEMSI customer service was, by FAR, one of the worst experiences of my life (and I'm in my late '60s). My understanding was that they accepted the insurance payment as fee for service without additional charges. When they sent me a $300 bill for the ride to the ER (4 miles away) that my medicare insurance did not cover, they refused to consider any reduced amount proportional to my social security income and, in fact, when I attempted to see if there were any affordable billing options, they threatened to change the billing codes to "non-emergency" status, emphasizing that my insurance would then not cover any of their fees and I would have to pay an additional cost (an increase above the $300 that I was initially charged as insurance copay). The only goal of their customer service was to collect as much money as possible without concern for the patient's ability to pay or the degree of "emergency life support" services that were not (and did not need to be) provided by the ambulance attendent. The expressed attitude was "you can pay us now or pay us later, but you WILL pay us!!!" Their total bill for a 4-mile ride to the ER without any emergency ambulatory care was $575 - significantly above the amount either authorized by Medicare or paid by Humana. I would rather attempt to drive myself to the hospital under any critical circumstance rather that use HEMSI and succumb to their inflated fee schedule and deceptive billing and collection practices. When I received their invoice showing the total fee for a non-life-support 4-mile transport ride to the emergency room was $575 (roughly $125 per mile) for a fully conscious, coherent and ambulatory patient that needed no additional assistance) and when I questioned their fee structure for this service, I was unapologetically informed that I should have called my insurance company and verified coverage before dialing 911. In my heart, I am absolutely positive that HEMSI is in business strictly for the profits, not to provide the Huntsville community with affordable emergency ambulatory care. They are strictly a "bottom-line" "for-profit" corporation that that charges exorbitant fees and should not be permitted to operate a chartered emergency ambulance care service without competition. IMHO, their fees and billing practices reflect an abuse of their monopolistic and non-competitive 911 response service to the Huntsville community. Their desire to provide life-saving emergency services is by far secondary to their desire to make a handsome profit from their privelaged enterprise.

Quality Tire gave an superb quality and reliable window tinting service. After checking around I found Quality Tire to be very close in price to the internet, and best on customer service.
