I am rejecting this response because:The reason for the second was same symtoms as fuel pump..Turned out gas gauge or float or sensor was damaged Worked perfect before repair..I waited hours for them to fix issue..They asked me to come back on a Saturday and give them another chance I did they didn't fix it againThey passed the buck and said you need to go to [redacted] and calibrate..called [redacted] ( [redacted] ) They said it is not a calibration issue..For record they dropped me off once at [redacted] on Elkhorn..said my home was too far..I still need tge issue repaired but Quality doesnt seem to know how...you see they mention sensors but dont repair anything? I will incur another expense by taking to *** I want quality to pay some of it! Josh dropped the part I heard and it never read the gas properly since the first fuel pump replacement

Customer brought vehicle to us on 7/21/2016 with a no start complaint. Vehicle was towed in. We diagnosed the fuel pump was in operative. Verified that the fuel pump had a half tank of fuel. We tested fuel sending unit to confirm the fuel gauge was reading correctly. Replaced fuel pump. road tested...

and everything was good. 9 days later the customer calls and is upset that the vehicle is not starting again. We are concerned and accommodating and request having it towed asap and that we will get it resolved quickly. Customer waits at our facility and is upset the whole time and expresses his dis content to all of our other customers. Very inappropriate. Non the less we diagnose that customer ran vehicle out of gas. We pulled pump and confirmed it was ok. tested sending unit and its working ok.. We think possibly that the fuel gauge is not reading correctly and/or Vehicle computer needs to be re calibrated... Suggested to customer that he take it to the [redacted] dealer. The initial customer concern was a no start complaint of which we repaired. We tried in good faith to help the customer on a number of occasions but customer is un willing to work with us. We gave him numerous rides home. Which two miles is really 18 miles for the record. This vehicle has many miles on it and has multiple issues. Also for the record, fuel system is this model has two fuel Sending units in the fuel tank. We believe that the secondary fuel sending may have a problem as well as the gauge. But customer was adamant that he was not going to pay a dime for anything more. As noted prior. We fixed initial no start , tow to the shop complaint.

Review: Quality Tune-Up has failed to honor a warranty on a "long block engine" that was installed in my BMW less than two months ago. It's leaking oil.

On 11/2/2013 I picked-up my 328i BMW from Quality Tune-Up at 1700 Douglas Blvd. in Roseville, California. I paid a total of $4,666.99 to have my former block engine replaced with a used block engine. It was my understanding that all work was guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. Additionally, it was my understanding that all parts (including the block engine) had a six-month unlimited warranty. On 12/1913, less than two months and less than 2,000 miles later, I returned to Quality Tune-Up to have it checked for an oil leak. I was shown and informed by [redacted] (counter clerk) that there were two oil leaks related to the engine block requiring the replacement of gaskets. Specifically, these being an oil pan gasket and a valve cover gasket set. When I asked about the warranty, [redacted] informed me he believed the repairs required were covered under the warranty. However, he also informed me he would have to confirm with the Store Manager ([redacted]). [redacted] was not at the store at the time. However, [redacted] assured me he would be in later that morning and that one of them would get back to me. No one did that day (12/19/13). I waited for someone to get back to me the following morning (12/20/13). No one did. I called the store shortly after noon and spoke with [redacted]. I requested to speak with [redacted]. However, [redacted] informed me [redacted] was off somewhere acquiring parts. I requested a written estimate for the replacement of the gaskets as well an unrelated repair. I informed him I would be by to pick-up the written estimates in less than 10 minutes. I arrived minutes later and discovered [redacted] was at the store. He informed me the gaskets and the labor were not covered under the warranty because the gaskets were never replaced when the engine was installed in my BMW. Thus, according to him, he would have to charge me for the gaskets and the labor required to install them. The amount came out to over $450.00. Even though my receipt clearly shows the long engine block that was installed is considered a part and it also shows that all parts have a six-month unlimited warranty, [redacted] refused and continues to refuse to honor it. Seeing that [redacted] was not going to honor the warranty, I left the store with the written estimates.Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] to honor the warranty by replacing the leaking gaskets at no cost (for parts or labor) to me. Additionally, I would [redacted] to honor the warranty fully should there be further problems associated with the labor and engine block. I would like the repairs conducted as soon as possible- as oil continues to leak from the bad gaskets.

Review: Fuel pump replaced. Gas guage now broken. They keep trying to fix issue without success.Desired Settlement: May need more competent technician..pay cost.

Review: On Nov.11, 2013, I went to the location for a repair with my air conditioning not working on a 2011 GMC Acadia with 52924 miles on it. I was charged 49.95 for a diagnostic air conditioning performance test. The manager told me that he had done a complete diagnostic work up and the vehicle needed a new air conditioning compressor, for a quote of $1572.94. The work up sheet quoted stated,"Found AC compressor pressures out of spec Ac system cycles rapidly. Hi side pressure bleed To low side causing ac to shut off. Rec compress Kit complete-1572.94-1 week out special orde". The conversation also included that he had called GMC to see if there were any recalls or anything that would induce this problem but he was told no. The manager told me that it wasn't a freon problem because they had filled it, and it had to be the compressor.I felt uneasy on the conversation and also it seemed odd that a newer vehicle would need a whole new air conditioning compressor...I was unable to get my vehicle into Reliable GMC in Roseville Auto Mall prior to June 4, 2014 due to work scheduling in order to fix the problem that continued with no A/C.I had to sign for an estimate of $132.00 for an evaluation of the A/C. The evaluation showed,"Inspected vehicle for HVAC not functioning. Inspected HVAC syst found low on 134A, 4 oz total at this time. Charged syst with .5 lbs 134A. Tested comp performance high pressure 127 PSI, low 47 PSI. Checked vehicle for leaks, no leaks noted at this time with 134A tester. Rec service A/C sytem and install dye."They called me and I authorized them to refill the unit with freon, as the service guy told me there was nothing wrong with the compressor, it didn't have any FREON!!!!! The final entry on the service write up stated,"performed A/C syst service. evacuated A/C syst, syst held vacuum for 10 minutes. charged with 2.3 lbs 134A and injected dye in syst to verify leaks in the future. high pressure 143psi low pressure 35 psi ambient temp 67'f vent temp 43'f.Desired Settlement: Based on the above, clearly my diagnostic charge of $49.95 was not only a waste as for the wrong diagnosis, but clearly meant to try and get me to pay for a A/C compressor of $1572.94 to have this installed when it was CLEARLY NOT NEEDED.I would like to have my diagnostic charge refunded for $49.95. The original invoice was 1-87994.

Response:

The vehicle will continue to have problems with the AC based on the final numbers quoted in the response from GMC "hi side 143 low side 35 ambient 67 and vent temp of 43. This only shows a 24deg drop in temp. based on these numbers when it is 95 deg outside the interior temp will be approx 72 deg. most systems that are functioning properly achieve a 35 to 45 deg drop in temp. The system still has an issue that will present itself at the temps outside rise. I would be willing to give the cust a courtesy AC check when that time comes.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

GMC Roseville Service has successfully repaired the vehicle which has been running great since I got it back from them. There are no more problems at all with the A/C. Your response is unacceptable for two reasons. First, you did not respond to why you charged me for something that was improperly diagnosed and not completely repaired (see previous e-mail). Second, I would not go back to you, nor would I recommend anyone going back to you, so I won't be coming back in for any free future diagnostic work (your offer essentially). Why would I go back to you when you didn't even diagnose a simple issue such as the A/C system needing freon? Instead, you recommended a job that was estimated way more than was needed including me buying a compressor at an estimate of $1,572.94. Thank goodness I went with my gut instinct to get a second opinion. Unfortunately, my bad for going to you and billing for a diagnostic check of $49.95. Don't pay, at least others that take the time to read my first e-mail, and your response, with my rebuttal, will hopefully see your incompetency regarding vehicle diagnostics.

Sincerely,
