Thank you for taking the time to bring to our attention the concerns of Ms. [redacted] in regards to her 2000 Ford Focus. Upon Ms [redacted] visit to Quailty Tune Up #53 on September 26th 2014  we provided her with a inspection of her clutch peddle at no  cost to her. Although Ms. [redacted] had her...

clutch repairs done at are shop seven months prior to her return we had no problem inspecting her clutch out of customer satisfaction. Upon our inspection we found the vehicle to have no brake fluid at the time of arrival. When there is no brake fluid this can cause damage to the seals of the slave cylinder and clutch cylinder During the inspection brake fluid was topped off and leaking was found coming from slave cylinder and the seals of the clutch cylinder where worn from lack of fluid Ms. [redacted] was advised of the results of our diagnosis and was recommended to replace the slave cylinder to resolve the leaking and to replace the clutch cylinder due to the damage caused from lack of fluid.
Quality Tune Up #53 has a warranty of 3 months or 3.000 miles unless other wise noted. This warranty is on all parts and labor provided by us. The slave Cylinder and clutch cylinder that was recommended to the customer has never been replaced by Quality Tune Up #53. There is also a concern with the time frame that the customer returned. The customer brought the vehicle back 7 month later. The warranty on the repair she had done (not the slave cylinder or clutch cylinder) has also expired by the mileage and date that she returned although there was no problems with the repairs we had completed for her on the clutch. In regards to the customers concern on why there was no recommendations on her initial visit was due to fact that its noted on the invoice from the date of the initial repairs of her clutch Feb. 15th 2014 the customer had requested the repair of her clutch she did not have us diagnosis thee clutch at that time.
Incunction we did advise customer no to drive the vehicle any further with the damage that had been done to the clutch cylinder and due to the leaking of the slave cylinder we did top off the brake fluid and make sure it was at the proper level before returning the vehicle to the customer and completed the diagnosis for the customer at no cost. Im very sorry that the customer is unsatisfied with her recommendation and about her completed repairs. Im very sadden that there was some miss communication between the customer and the service adviser during her repairs and diagnosis. Our goal would be to continue to service Ms. [redacted] with Quality Service on her vehicle
Thank You,

Review: February 2014 I went to Quality Tune-up to replace my clutch. A one-day job took 3 days and I was told my car was finished and ready for pick up. I arrived and had to wait 45 minutes due to my car not being not drivable. Then had to wait additional time for the replacement of a part they replaced of their negligence since I drove my car their running and no recommended diagnosis issues on the original receipt. Friday September 24 I took my vehicle back since it was not able to put the clutch in gear and [redacted] informed me that due to the fact I had no brake fluid in the car and that is why my car would not go into gear. With the brake fluid leak I will need to have the slave and clutch cylinder replace and the items would be under warranty, however I would have to pay for labor. All issues resulted from the inexperienced or negligence clutch repair for a 2000 Ford Focus.Desired Settlement: All repairs negligence and damage pertaining to the original installation of clutch service fixed and repaired at Quality Tune-up expense. Any other provable issues repaired and Quality Tune-Up to make payment arrangements since the maintenance of my 2000 Ford Focus was in great working running order with no diagnosis issues.

Review: LAST WEEK I TOOK MY FORD EXPLORER TO QUALITY TUNEUP SHOP. I WAS CHARGED 85.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET HALF THE MONEY BACK TO GO TOWARD THE REPAIRS I WAS HAVING DONE I ALSO ASKED TO HAVE MY BREAKS CHECKED. I WAS PRESENTED A BILL FOR OVER 400.00 WHICH I COULDN'T AFFORD TO PAY THAT MUCH. SO I SAID I JUST WANTED TO APPLY HALF THE 85.00 TOWARD THE BREAK REPAIR WHICH WOULD'VE 42.50 THEY REFUSED. SAID IT WAS ONLY GOOD FOR THE COMPLETE JOB. I HAD TO PAY 110.00 TO GET MY CAR BACK AND GOT NO WORK DONE.Desired Settlement: I FEEL THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING IN COMMUNICATION AND I UNDERSTOOD I WOULD RECD HALF ON ANY WORK THAT WAS DONE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO GIVE AWAY 110.00 AND STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. ALSO WHEN I LEFT I WAS UPSET AS I WAS DRIVING OFF MY TRUCK WAS MAKING A LOUND SOUND AND DRIVING WORSE THAN BEFORE SO I STOPPED AT ANOTHER STATION AND HE TOLD ME THEY FORGOT TO CONNECT A PART BACK THAT WAS HANGING OFF . HE RECONNECTED IT FOR ME NO CHARGE.

Customer came in for a check engine light diagnosis.. We performed the check engine light diagnosis.. 85$ found a loose connector that we secured on injector #1.. Running much better than when he drove the vehicle in.. Customer was recommended spark plugs and igniton wires based on mileage and from fouled out spark plugs.. Customer declined any further repairs. Customer then requested a visual brake inspection stating brake pedal goes to the floor when applied,intermittenly.. We found front brake pads with 0%pad life.. Recommended front brake rotors and pads and master cylinder based on mileage.. Customer declined any further work... Brake inspection is 25$.. For a check engine light diagnosis half of the charge will go towards repairs, which repairs were declined by customer.. 25$ will go towards brake repairs if repairs were made.. No repairs were authorized by our customer.. If customer wants to return for any repairs mentioned we will gladly credit either $42.50 for the check engine light repairs.. Or 25$ towards the brake repairs mentioned on invoice #86319.. Thank you

Review: On (12/08/15), I (had my Oil Changed) a (2002 Toyota Camry at (Quality tune-up, 12/08/2015 for an Oil Change and Tire Rotation

I spoke with the [redacted] (a nice guy respectful, professional) when I brought my car in I did have a check engine light on via information cluster on the dash broad which I was totally aware of, but after asking a few questions [redacted] said it could just be a gas cap, I still had the oil changed and tires rotated.

When the job was done I got my car and proceeded to leave, before I could leave the parking lot of Quality tune-up I noticed more lights were lit up on my instrument panel. The V.S.C and Traction control lights were on. I went back and told the mechanic about the lights and “he said that the lights were on when you came here”. I told him no they were not on so he took the car and put it back on the lift. I asked him if maybe he accidentally disconnected something, rudely he said again it was on when you brought it here. So I told him, that’s not true because [redacted] and myself went to my car and got the odometer mileage and I showed him the check engine light that was on, and that was the only light on, when I spoke back with [redacted] he said he vaguely looked at the dash panel and seen some light flash. Which the panel does light up upon turning the key to on position, but after a few seconds they go off, before my tire rotation and oil change , I only had a check engine light on via control panel somehow after the tire rotation mysteriously I now have no traction of stability control in my only family car.

To resolve the problem, I would appreciate if Quality tune-up would fix my car and for my car to work the same way it did when I brought it in to them before their services. Because my car is does not work the same as it did before I brought it to them.Desired Settlement: To resolve the problem, I would appreciate if Quality tune-up would fix my car and for my car to work the same way it did when I brought it in to them before their services. Response:

The check engine light was on.. was marked off on checklist by computer default settings.. we performed an oil change and a tire rotation.. we rotated tires back to front only.. vsc and traction control have nothing to do with performing a simple tire rotation. We pulled the vehicle in after they drove back after service stating the two lights are on... when [redacted] drove vehicle in he stated it drove fine when driving into shop.. [redacted] remembers some lights were flickering on the instrument cluster buy not on.. we lifted vehicle in the air to show the customer the process of the tire rotation.. that these is no way a tire rotation will cause cause a code or light to come on.. we even scanned the codes for the check engine light for customer good will and it showed a code related to an angle sensor fault that is located in the steering column.. that error code is related to the traction problem she is stating.. vehicle will need a diagnosis to confirm any problems the vehicle has reguarding vsc and check engine light being on.. customer declined any further repairs..

Review: My car was smogged with check engine light on in car. They charged me smog fees knowing the car was going to automatically fail. The check engine light had nothing to do with the emissions of the car. Then charged me again to re-smog the car. This is the fourth incident that happened with my vehicles. Three other occasions my oil pan bolt was left loose on my truck also on my car and oil filter was left loose on my car in witch all three cases lost oil to my vehicles. I do not think it is accidental, I think it is more coincidental.Desired Settlement: A refund of the smog fees.

I think this company should be investigated because I feel I am not the only one this has happened to and hopefully I can prevent this from happening to anyone else.

Response:

Company states that whether a customers vehicle has its check engine light on or not they are still obligated to do the smog when asked. They have no idea why the vehicle will fail until the smog is done. Once the smog is done they are able to tell the customer why the vehicle failed so that it can be repaired.

Consumer

Response:

First of all, they knew that I knew what was wrong with the car before they smogged the car. I knew it had nothing to do with the emissions of the car. I though smog checks are for the emissions of the car, not failing a smog for non-related parts. It was against the law what they did. They should have came to me before they smogged the car, and said to me your car is going to fail you need to fix your check engine light on your car before we do the smog. Now I want all my money back from them and them not being honest with a long time customer.

Review: On June 27th, 2016 approximately 9:00am I took my car to the Quality Tune Up on 2221 Florin Road Sacramento CA 95822 to have my Air Conditioner Re-serviced because my AC had not been blowing cold air. I spoke to an African American Guy at the front desk about having the service received, I filled out the paperwork and they proceeded to service my AC . It took about 30 minutes to an Hour for the mechanic to "fix" it and my total cost was 153.35 I paid with my credit card and the mechanic said that it was working fine, from which it seemed at first. A couple hours later my AC had stopped blowing cold, so I brought my car back up the Auto Shop to ask the mechanic why my AC was not working, he said that I had a short in the AC wiring and that would cost another couple hundred dollars. this company took my money and did not fix anything. I paid 153.35 for nothing. they did not even offer to do the extra service for free since the mechanic did not tell me that I needed wiring done before he started on the procedures. I do not like this company and I would like my full refund.Desired Settlement: I would like my full refund 153.35

Response:

Hi.. Yes, we performed an a/c performance test on our customers vehicle.. Customer stated her ac wasnt blowing cold air, so we started with the perfance test.. We charged the system with correct freon after it passed the leak test and vacuum test.. Ac was added dye to further inspect for any leaks.. After freon and dye charge the ac system was working properly, ac was blowing cold air.. Customer approved freon charge and paid the total amount of the service.. We advised all our customers to return 3-5 days for an ac follow up. To inspect for any small leaks in ac system... The next day she came back in stating the ac wasnt blowing cold air... We immediately brought the car in to inspect... We found that while pressing the a/c buttons on and off that the a/c compressor Would come on but that sometimes it would not.. No freon leaks detected with uv light or electronic leak detector.. When on the ac system works ok... We advised our customer that there is an electrical problem that we would have to look into to find the problem... Customer declined any further work at that time... [redacted] our technician was helping our customer during this time.... We dont feel we should reimburse any monies due to a electrical problem that isnt our fault.. We feel sorry that her ac system is not working.

Review: On February 13,2015 approximately at 1:15 P.M., I returned to my automobile after it was serviced for an oil change at Quality Auto Care Center, [redacted], and that is when I noticed scratches on my bumper and paint removed from the bumper of my car due to someone hitting it against an object. Before allowing Quality Auto Care Center to fix my car, there was not any damage to my vehicle, so I spoke to the manager [redacted] and the owner [redacted] that his technician hit my car against an object. They denied damaging my car. I called the Sacramento police. Officer Butler, badge number [redacted] came, said he can only get information from both parties and give to each party because this is a civil case. When I got home, I called the insurance company and the information I was given was not correct! I was given incorrect information about the owner [redacted]'s home and business! Owner [redacted] address is not [redacted], and his insurance information is wrong, too!Desired Settlement: The desired settlement I want is for my automobile bumper to be repaired.

Review: I took my 1991 Lexus ls 400 to Quality for a smog check based on new ownership this the same day I brought my car, on 12/11/14, Every thing passed expected my Emissions Test was high so they tag it as a gross polluter. Then they said for me to drive the car in come back in a couple of days, that would help the emissions go down. So I take my car back on the 12/16/14 they charged me $556.47 for a oil change which include a $90.00 diagnosis which my car once again failed. They once again they said to drive it and come back in couple of days and I did. So on the 12/18/2014 my car passes,I then ask them for my for my cert. they say to me they do not give them they are only a repair station that is not whats on my paperwork or the ad the had in the penny saver. Even went down to D M V with paper work they said for me to go back to the place that passed my car and get the paperwork saying I passed. So I go back to quality and tell the what D M V said they retest my car 2 hours later and I failed and the still did not comply. So on 12/22/2014 I file a complaint with the Bureau Of Automotive Repairs on 12/26/ 2014 I summit all my paperwork to them it goes threw the procedure and [redacted] tells that they can give me a cert. one they store has tag it as gross polluter. I ask why not he just says to its the law. As of today my car has not pass smog because of high emissions. UNREALDesired Settlement: I would like for them to refund all of my money spent on smog checks and all repairs done after they messed up and did not own up to the mistake. Also a written APOLOGY!

Response:

After diagnosing vehicle, found massive misfire causing high emissions. Recommend and advice costumer to replace spark plugs and wires . After approval We worked on customer's car and replaced spark plugs and wires. By replacing plugs and wires we lowered emissions. Even with emissions lowered, vehicle failed the smog. After replacing these plugs and wires, vehicle does not have misfire any longer. Also advised customer to replace catalytic converter due to high emissions. Customer drove the car and said she replaced catalytic converter .After inspecting the vehicle, found catalytic coverter was not replaced. Car will not pass without. replacement of catalytic converter.
