Review: On 6-4-2016, I took my car to Quality auto care on 1014 N. El Dorado; Stockton, Ca 95202. My car had a cooling problem, so I took it in. I explained to the mechanic not to replace the thermostat, because it had already been replaced. I also explained that the fan sensor had been replaced so I told him not to replace either. In addition I asked that he call me before he did any work. When I picked my car up, I was billed $198.05 for a new thermostat. He told his boss he received my approval, which was a lie. I told his so in front of his boss.Desired Settlement: I'm angry that he disregarded my instructions . I don't expect much help, but I had to write.

Review: On Saturday 9/19 around 9:09 a.m. I pulled in and had an oil change. Once it was done, the tech let me know there was an oil leak and could be plugged but they ran out the stuff they use. He said go to [redacted] and get 2 bottles. I told him wouldn’t it be too much for 2 bottles since he just filled the oil? He said NO it would be fine. He said just to pour it in with the oil. I asked what it will do. He said plug the leak. I asked how it knows where to go. He said it just does and he would do it but they ran out. He said he does it all the time and it works wonders. He said he would go get it but they were short staffed and can’t leave. I asked if I could wait, he said no as it could mess up the car. He said it’s called [redacted] (receipt attached). And [redacted] is down the street on West Lane and Harding. It was actually on Harding and Wilson Way. When I got there they didn’t have the small bottles since I needed 2. They sent me to their store on Charter Way and called to hold them for me. I got there and only bought one as I felt it might be too much. I poured in just like he told me to. I started my car and as I was backing out, it died out. I didn’t know what happened or what to do. I had the store clerk come out and help me. He didn’t know so we tried jumping the car and it would not stay on. He then said the battery most likely got killed, but how? It was fine before I got there. The only difference was the liquid I was told to put in. We tried and looked at other things and everything was fine. We tried jumping the car a few times and nothing. By now my battery has been killed so I had to get a new one battery (receipt attached). The car did turn on but it would still die out. I was able to drive back to Quality after 2 ½ hrs. of sitting at [redacted]. I told the same tech at Quality what happened due to what he said to do. He said it normally works. I told him something is wrong and he needs to look at my car as I didn’t have any problems before I used the liquid he told me to. He said it should have been fine. After some time he came and said the liquid stuff he said to put in the oil had plugged the oil filter which is why the car was dying out. He said it might be in the pump as well. He said he would need to pull of the tank and look in there. I told him to do what he needs to, to make me whole as I was before he told me to pour that stuff in. After some time, he said he might need to get me a new pump and he couldn’t get it now that it’s almost 5pm. He would have to get it on Monday and keep my car till TUESDAY. I told him I came for a simple oil change and now I might not have my car until TUESDAY. How am I supposed to get to work and take my kids to school those 2 days? I told him I had too much to do today and now have been stuck at their shop for most of the day. He said he will try to get it done by 6pm. I got a ride home as now I had been with this problem since 9am or so. I called them around 6pm and was told they would be done in a little bit and they would call me. NO call was received so around 6:30 I clld again. They said it was fine and they tried calling but it was the wrong phone number. I told them I’ve been there thousands of times and they had my current number. Needless to say I was able to get dropped off at the shop. The tech said he had to flush it out twice and thinks he got everything out. He said there might be some left but shouldn’t make a problem as he did what he could do. I took my car home and it seemed different, it still died out at the lights but not as much as before. It is still dying from time to time. The shop is responsible for what they do to customers’ cars. I did what he told me to do. I then was out of pocket the 100 for the battery, the 45 for the liquid which messed up my car. They asked that I pay 176.00 for labor to what they cleaned up from the mess their tech actually made by telling me to pour that stuff in my car. I told them, they created this problem and I should not have to pay for their mistake. They ended up charging me 76.00 (receipt attached). I again told them I should not have to pay for their mistake. I could not take my car unless I paid that amount.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund from them for the amount I paid when all I did was get an oil change and they created this issue which took all day being stuck at the part store and then again at Quality shop form 9am till 7pm. That’s ridiculous and un-necessary. How can shops create such a problem for a customer and then want us to pay to fix it. I need a refund on the battery and the labor they charged for fixing their mistake. I have attached all receipts.

Review: I went in the Quality tune up here in Stockton on 12/14/15 just before going to the doctors office to apply for a credit card to have some work done. While in the shop I explained to the young lady waiting on me that the vehicle had experienced a u1100 code of which she never enquires . Her only item of business was getting the card approved .The work was based on my approval, I was told before leaving they would get pricing on spark plugs and wires for the vehicle and she would let me know the price. But I never received a call to discuss the pricing. When they called me the work had been completed which consisted of a fuel injector cleaning and replacing the spark plugs. Well to not cause a seen because if I denied the service afraid they may lien my vehicle I tell the attendant which waited on me the complete time I wasn't satisfied. Well I call the Nissan dealer and enquire about pricing and they tell me since although the vehicle only had 72,000 original miles on it. The dealer says vehicle which is a 2005 Nissan Frontier would be good for another 35,000 miles before changing the plugs. I honestly believe because I applied for the card their the attendant wanted to scheme as much of approved amount as possible. She the attendant even gave me a list of other items they recommended to be addressed which would have totaled nearly $900.00.Desired Settlement: I believe them being a tune up shop they should have given me the same information the dealer did, therefore other than the fuel injection cleaning I feel as though I should be refunded the service fee which they charged for the plugs, which really wasn't needed.

Review: I went in to Quality Tune Up Shop for a radiator flush August 1, 2015, and due to the mechanic making a mistake he caused everything under my hood to get covered in radiator fluid, which is then when they whipped everything under the hood off to try and clean the fluid off of everything. Two days later my car began to run ruff and the check engine light came on and I wasn't able to drive it for about week. After a week of not driving my car I took it to another shop for a diagnostic test, which then they told me that my coil modular was bad due to the accident from Quality Tune Up Shop with the radiator fluid spill. After paying $100.00; $40.00 for diagnostic testing and $60.00 for parts and labor to the other shop for replacing the coil modular. When the piece was removed the new mechanic showed me the old coil modular covered in radiator fluid, which I still have.A having the coil modular replaced I went to Quality Tune Up Shop and explained to the mechanic there what had happened and that they were responsible for this and I wanted a reimbursement for the $100.00 that I had paid to have the coil modular fixed. They then told me that there was no way that the radiator fluid would have reached the coil modular, so they were not responsible.Desired Settlement: So I am asking for the refund of the $100.00 because it is obviously there responsibility and I have the old coil modular to show for it. The mechanic at Quality Tune Up Shop opened the radiator fluid while the car was still hot and make it splash everywhere including my clothes and face and on everything under my hood, then tried to whip down as much as possible but obviously not enough and my coil modular was covered in radiator fluid and had be replaced due to there mistake.

Review: I had repairs done and have had to take it back 4 times for the same issue.

I brought my vehile in for a check engine light. They indicated that it was the cannister valve that was malfunctioning and needed replacement. I was charged for the service and labor. The issue continued after the repairs totally an estimated $500.00. I was instructed to bring it back. I brought it for evaluation and was told because the engine light wasn't on at the time I would need to bring it back when the light was on. I brought it back when the light was on for them to check it. They told me they didn't have time to do the repairs but to bring it back and they had the code that they needed from the engine light. I brought it back and dropped it off. I was notified by the office manager that they couldn't find any issues with it and the light wasn't on anymore for them to check. I attempted to explain to her that they already checked the engine light code when I brought it back the 3rd time and they just asked me to dropped it off for review and repairs. She indicated that they looked at everything and they couldn't find anything so I would have to wait for the car to break down before they can do anything. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I asked the office manager to bring in the owner or one of the guys to explain what was going on. He explained to me that they checked everything and everything seemed to running fine. The office manager in the background mumble "The customer is never satisfied whether their paying or not". I replied to her that I'm trying to get the issue resolved so I don't have to come back for the same issue and she proceeded to argue with me over the guy whom was trying to explain. She told me that I was no longer welcome because I continued to try and understand what's wrong with my car.Desired Settlement: The charges for my vehile repairs are estimated to be $500.00. They should reimburse me for my time and troubles of dropping and picking up the car when asked as well.

Review: Last Friday June 21, 2013 around 10:16am. I took my Jeep Liberty Car for oil change at the Quality Tune-Up Shops. When mechanics for the Auto shop where performance the service, one of them call me and shop that my Jeep needs brakes and the air filter to be replace. I told him that, I don't want the extra service at the time because I was goint to talk with my husband. A few minutes later they call me and told me that my car job was done. I payed to the cashier lady name [redacted] $29.24 and walked away trusting my car oil change was done and complete. I want to notice that I only have one vehicle to drive around for all my duties: family, work, home, etc. on Wednesday June 26, 2013, after caming from work around 4:45pm. I noticed a large spot of oil in the cement of my drive way of my house. I waited for my husban to arrive and confirmed that yes it was oil from my Jeep. Around 5:50, I went to the Quality Tune-Up shop in order to find an answer to the problem of the oil driping from my car. The lady in the auto shop told that she was the manager and they were getting to close and I was suppoted to came back dduring the next day of working hours. I explained her that I was going to go to work the next day and I have to use my car to drive around. She keeps refusing to let me car be check and I was really frustaded because I was counting on a job to be done well. Fianlly after a minutes of arguing back and for and telling me in my face that the car was not loosing oil. They decided to check the car and continue arguing that the gasquet was not working properly and I it was on my to pay. I explained to them that I was not afraid to pay but they (the mechanics) they never told me about to replace the damage part. How can your trust aging yur car in a place that they not going to advice you fo something on your car is wrong. Waht kind of people work in this bussines that they don't care advising they custumers abut the potential big issues that you can face in the road every day, every minute wi

Product_Or_Service: Car Oil Change.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I would like to get my money back because they never sai that it was their fault. I bussines should be able to work with their customers and make any appropiate arrangement to resolve the issue. The people in the Quality Tune-Up Shop definaly didn't want do anything to solve the problem.

We inspected your vehicle and found no leaks. We did advise you that there is damage to the exterior of the drain plug. It appears the drain plug was damaged due to being taken off with pliers at home. In the shop we do not use pliers but drain plug wrenches that fit over the plug. We advised you to purchase a new drain plug at the store and we would replace it for you. You declined to replace the plug and refused the service.

Review: I took my 09 camry for ac leak inspection and in return they gave me wrong results.

I took my 2009 toyota camry for ac leak inspection on Friday 07-05-2013 to Quality Tune-Up. They said its going to cost me $50 for inspection which they will tell me exact locations of leaks. After few minutes the mechanic comes and said they are probably several leaks. So I said what do you mean probably? he said to find out the exact leaks I need to put dye in their which will cost you another $70 and then he said but wait let me finish this test first so he comes back after few minutes and said your ac compressor is forzen and your condensor is no good and you will need to replace the entire system and he gave me a print out from his computer about the results which I still have it. Next day I took my car to a different shop and they put the dye in their and inspect the car and found no problems and also fix the ac which is working just fine now,,, and they also gave me a print out of their results which says all ac componets are in perfect condiontions. I went back to Quality Tune-Up for refund since they gave me wrong results and tried to rob me anyways they refused even though they try to replace perfect ac system and try to charged me $2000.

ThanksDesired Settlement: I want my refund which is $50 and my gas which I wasted going back and forth to them which is $30, I wont charged them of my time.

Thanks

You came in and requested an AC Performance Test. There was no Freon in the system which is an indication you have leaks in the system. there was also signs of visual leakage from the lines. At that Point we recommended to insert dye into the system to determin the exact point of leakage. You denied service. An AC Certified Tech is required to fix the leaks prior to recharging freon due to Ozone contamination.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I did repair the car according to state law, you guys gave wrong results... there were no leakage and system was not contaminated I have a certified shop backing me up on this...!!!! If the system was contaminated then why is the ac working just fine now after getting recharged from competent shop!

Business' Final Response

I never tried to charge you 2000 for anything. I never gave you any estimates for repair. I recommended a dye test and I recommended you change the other parts because YOU said that YOU contaminated the system with an add in Freon from Autozone. Those add ins are corrosive to internal AC parts. There were obvious signs of leakage from the AC lines. all repairs must be completed by state law before a recharge can be done. If you choose not to repair your vehicle correctly that is up too you. I will not refund any money because you chose not to repair your car correctly and follow AC repair guidelines

Review: On 4/4/12 I left my 95 Ford Taurus at Quality Auto Center 1014 N. El Dorado, Stockton CA 95202. The car had a miss in it I was told the car was fixed an the fee 219.00 which I paid. The car was not fixed I was unable to do any thing because I went to get open heart surgery. When I came back 90 days had went by. On 1/7/13 car still had miss Quality said it needed a diagnostic test, so it was done. A paper was given to me had miss writing on it. It needed spark plug was 182.75. I paid it at that time and the car still had miss. On 1/23/13 went back and manager [redacted] said it would be fixed for 591.00. At that time I went to a new mechanic and he fixed the car like new. Quality auto broke the cover for the radiators an they left a plug wire on the motor. I feel that Quality was not honest with me an did not fix my car. If I would have let Quality fix the car the car still would not be working. It was not the injectors OR ignition wires. Everything that was done to the car was not going to fix it. An there was over 1000 miles on the car, I was unable to drive at that time.

PS The new mechanic found out it was a bad head gasket.Desired Settlement: I wrote the company and asked for 1/2 the money back and have not heard from them. Where did the 1000 miles come from?
