Quality Van Lines Reviews (7)

Review: Moving household items from Maryland (on 8/**/13) to deliver ( 8/**/13) Texas by the company "Quality Van Lines ". The delivery was unprofessional (since they hired 3 inexperienced Spanish people from local [redacted] ) and they broke and damaged all our glassware's, mirrors and expensive glass items while moving it into the house. they also broke legs of 2 chairs, chine cabinet, TV stand, curio, 2 lamps shades broken, mattress damaged, photo frame all damaged, dresser stand broken and 2 boxes lost. our large dining room table BIG glass top was completely broken into pieces due to man handling which alone cost around $1000. I lost more than $2500 for the damages and lost items. My contract with the company :"included packing and delivery of all glass items and binding price ". We paid $8200 dollars (initial on the phone estimate was $4700 by the company) to this company to move us from MD to TX and they cause us more than $2500 in losses and the company is not responding to our request to refund our money.

the van driver was very rude to us and never tried to help us in any way to properly assemble to furniture as promised in the contract.

The company told me to file a claim and I did as they advised with photos. My claim # for quality van lines([redacted]) claim # [redacted]. The claim adjuster never follow up with me and not yet paid any money within 60 days.

This company is dishonest, unprofessional and untrustworthy and they should not have a licence.Desired Settlement: I want to settle the damages immediately with $2500 in lost goods.

Review: Last spoke to a [redacted] at the company on October [redacted] 2013. I asked [redacted] could I have an estimate of the day of when the furniture would be arriving on or around the shipment date. [redacted] stated " to me that she didn't know that she would call the dispatcher and for me to call her back after 1pm." I called [redacted] back at 2pm the phone went straight to voicemail. I called several times threw out the evening and the next day all the way up until now and still no respond via phone. The movers on September [redacted] 2013 came to pick-up my furniture and the man's name was [redacted]. [redacted] made a mistake and broke my hallway window and I haven't heard anything about a claim being put in. When I called [redacted] on the next day September [redacted] , she stated to me "that the boss wasn't in and she thinks [redacted] reported the claim about the window. The contact states that the furniture has to be delivered by November [redacted] 2013 but now am wondering is this company legit because [redacted] the mover stated" it is so slow right now with moving he told me that I could pick my date. At this point I just want a simply call back or an email, which they have my email address alongside my money and property. The company wont answer any phones calls from a [redacted] area code because I had different people calling them.Desired Settlement: Just want a call back and to know when to fly to Texas or to know to start to buy some new stuff because its a scam.

Review: We relocated 650 miles from CT to NC and 80% of our belongings are broken, damaged or missing. I have asked the owner of the company to call me several times but he will not return my call. The shipment was supposed to take 3-7 days but ended up taking 10 days. We paid for movers but I had to help unload the moving van. I have asked for my invoice to be reduced due to all the complications but no one will return my call.Desired Settlement: Large refund and replacement of my items

I RECEIVED THIS COMPLAINT VIA MAIL. I LOOKED UP THE NAME ON THE COMPLAINT. WE DO NOT HAVE THIS NAME ON FILE. IF THIS IS A RELATIVE [redacted], AS FAR AS DELIVERY GOES SHE WAS GIVEN A DELIVERY WINDOW TO NC OF 3-7 BUSINESS DAYS. WE PICKED THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS UP ON 6/** WHICH TECHNICALLY GIVES US UNTIL 7/* FOR DELIVERY BASED ON HER CONVERSATION WITH THE SALES DEPARTMENT. UPON PICK-UP SHE SIGNED AN ADDITIONAL BINDING CONTRACT FOR HER GOODS. THIS FINAL CONTRACT GIVES HER THE FINAL PRICE AND HER GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE FOR WHICH SHE SIGNED. WE DELIVERED ON 6/** WHICH WAS BEFORE THE 7 BUSINESS DAY PERIOD. AS FOR ANY GOODS THAT WERE DAMAGED ON THE MOVE SHE WAS PROVIDED WITH OUR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY. ALSO SHE STATED THAT SHE ASSISTED IN UNLOADING HER ITEMS. WE HAVE NO RECOGNITION OF THIS. HOWEVER, WHEN SHE WAS SPOKEN TO SHE NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD BROKEN OR MISSING ITEMS UNTIL DAYS LATER. SHE HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR SOME KIND OF MONETARY REFUND. WE ARE IN THE CONSTRAINTS OF OUR CONTRACT. WE PROVIDED GOOD SERVICE TO THIS CUSTOMER. WE JUST CAN'T MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY. THIS IS BUSINESS.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The statement is incorrect from the moving company. Yes, they said 3-7 business days. This company works 7 days a week, with that being said my stuff should have been delivered on the [redacted]. It was not. My items were delivered on July [redacted] and I called as soon as we unpacked to find out what was damaged broken & still missing to this day (7/**/13). I did not sign another agreement with a firm delivery date because the movers couldn't give me one. Also, we did not insist on unloading our stuff. We paid to have movers do it and one of the people they sent were broken and damaged like our stuff and couldn't perform the required tasks. Also, I understand that you can't make everyone happy but it is worth a shot. I had to call Quality Van Lines every time. Not once did they try to reach out to me to make sure everything was okay, even when it wasn't okay and I asked for the owner to call me, I'm still waiting for that call as well as my missing items.

Review: Quality Van Lines picked up my household belongings for transport from CT to Florida with a guaranteed delivery date by September **, 2013. I made arrangements to be at the new address by the delivery date. I spoke with [redacted] the customer service manager and informed her of my flight date of 9/**/13 and she reported it would be agreeable for the delivery of my belongings. I needed to make numerous phone calls to [redacted] "[redacted]" with several different responses and various excuses as to the no show of the moving van. I was told 1. The man would be calling me 12 hours in advance to confirm the delivery 2. The man "[redacted]" had left on 9/**/13 from [redacted], Fl and had to make a few stops before my delivery 3. [redacted] did not return numerous calls and a woman named [redacted] or [redacted] repeatedly informed me she would call me when she got in the office 4. The next day this same person [redacted] or [redacted] reported that [redacted] had been in the day before (but did not bother to call me) 5. I was finally given "[redacted]" phone number with 2 messages left and no return call 6. I again called [redacted] on Saturday 9/** and she was SURPRISED that [redacted] did not call me, she assured me she would be in contact with him and he would call me.......with no return call 7. I again tried to call [redacted] 3 hours later on Saturday with no answer 8. I left a 3rd message with "[redacted]" and he finally called me 9.[redacted] informed me he was not in [redacted] as [redacted] informed me but that he was 1000 miles away and blamed POOR COMMUNICATION as to the reason for no phone calls and the inability to have my belongings delivered as GUARANTEED by my contract 10. [redacted] thought he may be able to make my delivery by Monday (today) 11. No delivery, no phone calls and I am still waiting for my GUARANTEED delivery on 9/**/13Desired Settlement: I would appreciate the remaining monies that Quality Van Lines believes I will owe be waved. I have already paid 835 dollars up front and they expect another 335 dollars. They claim a guaranteed delivery and have only ignored and outright lied about my contract date and their inability to follow thru on their end of the contract . I have been virtually held "hostage" by their company as I have been unable to leave the close vicinity of my address waiting for phone calls that have not been made by them. They don't even have the common decency to return calls or be honest about their business. It has now been 6 days past the date of "guaranteed" delivery and soon will be day 7. Thank you, [redacted]

Response:

im sorry but first things first I NEVER guarantee a delivery date I cant this is transportation. I have the contract sitting in front of me and there is nothing on it that says guaranteed delivery date there is a requested date of delivery but that is not something I can guarantee so im sorry but no where in the contract does it say that u have a guaranteed delivery date. so im sorry I can not waive the 335 dollars that is still owed.

Review: I was looking for a moving company and had been giving many quotes around the $2000 mark. This company called me and said they could beat my previous quotes. Yes they did, but only by omitting items off of the inventory list and relying on me not to be thorough in going over the paperwork. The omitted all of my boxes! if you are a moving company, you know that no move happens without boxes!!! Anyway, when their foreman arrived, in a u-haul truck, not their company vehicle. He quoted me $3,000 for the move. He told me that he could not guarantee fragile things would not break because "it's a move, things break". When I refused to pay this price since it was double the original estimate and asked them to leave and contacted the office the following day. The office gave me a more detailed quote... this time not omitting anything the quoted $2800 (still 200 less than the day before) and refused to apply the previously offered 17% discount, obviously because they are no longer competing for my business. They refused to negotiate or return my deposite.Desired Settlement: I would like $200 refund that was paid to them $125 deposit that was paid and lost to the auto transport company and $113 that was paid for my airline ticket. Because they did not take my furniture I had to rent a u-haul truck and drive my belongings to texas myself.

Review: I'm using Quality Van Line service to shipping my stuff from east coast to California for relocation. After they were shipped out, I want to get an estimate date of delivery. But it's really hard to call their customer service phone number and have someone picking up the phone. Eventhough they picked up the phone, they always always asked me to call them back or told me that someone would call me back later. But it turned out that no one ever called me back or when I called back, they asked me call back again. Sometimes, they even asked me to hold the phone for a long time and sometimes after more than 10 minutes, they just hung up the phone!! I called them almost ten times but still couldn't get any update of my shipping or get any answer from them. It's really annoying to call them. I almost give up calling them and I have no idea where is my stuff and when they will delivered to me. I am really frustrated by their service.... Actually there are more to complain about their service. First, when they came to pick up my stuff, the amount of the cost (not include tips) they asked was higher than what I saw in the final quote they sent to me. I'm really unhappy with the fact that what they charged is different from the quote they gave me. Second, they didn't provide enough information to me. For example, I appreciate the fact that I can store my stuff up to 30 days for free before schedule a delivery. But they didn't tell me that my stuff will store in their storage in NY state. I though they will ship to California first and store it here. So I found that my stuff was still in NY state when I called them to schedule the delivery. If I know that, I would have called them and scheduled the delivery much earlier. Since I have't got my stuff on time, it caused much inconvenience to my life here in the new palce. And I don't know when I will receive them.......Desired Settlement: Give me a call and tell me the estimate date of the delivery or provide any update of the shipping. Please answer the phone!!

she already received her shipment. sorry for the delay!

Review: On September *,2013 I made a call to this company to schedule a move from [redacted] to [redacted], Georgia. I spoke with [redacted] who gave me a estimate of what it would cost to have my entire apartment shipped to Georgia. I agreed with the estimate and scheduled a date for Quality Van lines to deliver my belongings. On Saturday September **, 2013 the company came to pick up my belongings and told me that I would receive my belongings no later than Saturday October *,2013. I have yet to receive my items. I've called constantly and have been unsuccessful with getting someone on the telephone. I and really concerned about and want to get my belongings.Desired Settlement: My desire is to get my belongings and go on with my life. I only packed enough medicine and clothing for 8 days and I truly need my things.

Response:

AS PER [redacted] COMPLAINT I WANT TO START BY APOLOGIZING ON BEHALF OF THE COMPANY FOR US BEING LATE WE WERE SWAMPED WITH MOVES WE ALSO HAD AN ISSUE IN OUR AREA WITH THE PHONES THAT'S PROBABLY WHY SHE COULD'NT REACH ME. I KNOW THAT [redacted] RECIEVED HER STUFF A FEW DAYS LATER AND EVERYTHING WAS IN TACT.
