Quantum Accounting

Review: We hired [redacted] at Quantum Accounting to prepare our (new) business taxes, as well as our personal taxes for the tax year of 2013. We turned over every bit of information we had regarding our income, expenses, home, children, life. He quarenteed a phone call within the following week. 2 weeks later, I finally called him to track down our progress. He had no recollection of who we were, what town we lived in, etc. Not a good feeling! But we simply reminded him and waited some more. Another week passed. He called to say he lost our W-2's and pertinent information (he eventually found them). More time passed. He called us back with a refund amount in the thousands (great news!), but while still on the phone with me, he changed the amount to hundreds. Okay - still a refund,not bad. Still on the phone a few minutes later, he changed it yet again and said he'd have to call me back because he was thinking now we owed in. He did call back saying we did in fact owe. Chastised us for the way we funded out business. I asked him to send me the taxes; he said he would that day. Another week passed before I received them. We recognized not a single number he reported. He had EVERYTHING INCORRECT ON OUR TAXES. Wrong income, wrong children credit, wrong expenses, blatent lies about our expenses in fact. TO THE IRS!! We turned everything over (same numbers) to H & R Block. They had NO IDEA where his numbers came from. Within days, we had a refund of $7K. We had to refile with the IRS. Cost us more $. I asked [redacted] for a refund of the $200 we were required to pay him for services. Not only did we NOT get our refund, calls and letters to him went completely unanswered. He cashed our check and virtually disappeared. I will never use him again.Desired Settlement: I'd like a refund of our $200 payment to him for his "services".

During the 2012 tax season, I had taken all of my documents to [redacted] at Quantum Accounting in La Crosse. His affect was always that of an individual under the influence of some drug that made him aloof and completely scattered. He once asked my name 3 times during a 15 minute period. He also found it necessary to inform me of his preferences to legalize pot and his stance in "not so much promoting" the equal treatment of homosexual couples; which I thought was inappropriate considering I was not there to discuss social on-goings. He neglected to update any of my information including verifying what account (and the name under it) my returns would go in. Upon picking up my documents, I paid him in full and was on my way. I waited a very long time, probably about 1.5-2 months and received nothing. I called him for help and he gave me some national hotline number to call that did not even work. I had to research where to call on my own. To make 2 weeks of headache short, he basically told me to figure it out myself. Turns out, the money was deposited into my ex's account because that was where it went the year prior. HUGE mistake on his part!! When I finally tracked it down, I called him to inform him of his mistake and let him know I would appreciate some compensation for his neglect and unprofessionalism. I was then HUNG UP ON. DO NOT USE THIS MAN OR BUISNESS if you require organization and a job well done.
