Quik Movers Reviews (1)

I am a case manager with a client that needed to move quickly, and my client's family found Quik Movers at the end of last week. My client's family spoke with Dawn to begin setting up the arrangements for my client on 7/17, and I followed up with Rich (after asking for Dawn, as that was who we'd started making plans with, but he informed me that Dawn had already shared the information with him) that same day to finalize the plan to begin moving on 7/20. Rich informed me that Quik Movers would generally require a follow-up call to confirm plans, but as this would only be Friday to Monday, this would not be necessary (as no one should have time to forget). Rich provided me with his cell phone number in case we needed to reach them once they left the office, but they planned to arrive between 9 and 9:30 that Monday morning.
Shortly before 9 on Monday morning, I called the number Rich gave me to see what time we should meet them at the property. I left a message reminding them who I was and the plan we had agreed upon. I assumed they were on their way. An hour later, after repeated calls to the cell phone number Rich had provided me with and the original business number, I was left with an angry landlord and no way to move my client's property.
As I was preparing to contact another company in the hope that they might somehow be available on such short notice, Dawn called me back simply because she saw that my number was calling repeatedly. I explained who I was (in connection to the person she had originally spoken with on 7/17) and that I had finalized all the plan with Rich on 7/17. Dawn noted that since she had not heard back on Friday, and Rich had not finalized the move in their books (but she could see where he had made notes from speaking with me on Friday), they had not planned to be there Monday morning. She was very apologetic and promised that a team would arrive in a truck in 45 minutes. I told her my client was on a very tight schedule, as we were moving their property before they had to work that afternoon, so it was very important that they meet us as soon as humanly possible. Dawn was understanding of this and repeated that the movers would be there within 45 minutes' time.
My client and I decided to go over to the new apartment to finalize things there. I noted that the movers were expected to meet us at the original property around 10:45 am, and I still hadn't even heard from them by almost 11. I called Rich (who actually answered this time) and he stated that they should be there within 30-40 minutes. I told him Dawn had guaranteed me that they'd be there before 11 and that my client was on a timeline. He explained that since they'd been unaware of the move due to his mistake (which he apologized for), they'd had to find movers on short notice. Since, again, it was too late to call a different company, I agreed to meet him and his crew whenever they could get there.
They finally showed up around 11:30 (two hours late!!) and Rich apologized again, but did not seem to grasp how upset we were due to this. He and another young man began moving things from the basement as we asked, and during this time a third man showed up. While the third man was moving things out of the apartment itself, he picked up a pill from my client's living room floor and asked if I knew what it was. I assumed he was not seriously planning on taking a random pill that he found on my client's, but told him I had no idea. The man persisted, and stated "I don't want to get in trouble if it's not something good." I repeated that I had no idea and left the area because I could not believe this man was serious!
At this point, I became concerned about this man (or even the company that hired him) being responsible with my client's property, but it was already too late since they'd finished loading everything.
The rest of the move went reasonably smooth, but since the company would only take cash, I still had to figure out how my client was going to pay them and still make it to work on time. Of course, this was impossible, and my client ended up being almost an hour late to work. They charged us the full rate, despite being two hours late and consequently causing my client to be late for work. I do not take this to be a professional moving company because, regardless of them showing up late, they employ someone who is actively trying to score pills off the floor while moving someone's property, so it's doubtful there is any screening done prior to hiring someone.
Overall, while mostly pleasant, these movers were two entire hours late after a no call/no show and one of their employees was trying to take pills from my client's living room floor; I would not trust them with my personal property, and am sorry my client had to.
