forgot about them doing demo for that price. I started job and ran into a concrete slab in bathroom that was a extra to remove. Pulled up sub floor and floor joist was damaged. That was a extra. Other bathroom was leaking to so I re caulked tub to stop leak. That was a extra. Put bath back together and started tiling and had to take tiles back down because thinset provided by owner was drying to quick. Went to [redacted] and bought pro bond tile adhesive with my money. At this point I was 384 in hole and not paid anything. I knew that it would take 1100 dollars to finish and that would have wiped out my bank account. I texted them for a check for 1500 in extras based on 40 per hour for me and 25 for help plus material. They fired me left my tools outside overnight and tried to give me 1000 dollars . I refused to take check and taped their key to door and put a lien on house. They got me for 1000 on demo and wanted me to fix rotten wood that was their fault for using shower for years knowing it was leaking and jackhammer concrete from bathroom from first it that caused all the problems for free plus caulk tub that was not on contract.
