Removed popcorn ceiling in a number of rooms of our house. In the family room the drywall ceiling was sagging between the trusses. With our indirect lighting it greatly accented the woop de woop surface. It was decided to pull the ceiling down and replace it with a more ridget drywall. After all is done we now have a flat ceiling but some of the joints are a foot wide double humps.. Calls to discuss our concerns have not been returned by [redacted].
In the remodeling process an used oil bucket of mine was used by taking the sealed lid off and dumping the oil residue in the bucket on my only small lawn area. It was then inverted and used as a base for an aluminum scaffle platform. The still remaining oil residue kept draining on the plastic which covered the floor. Every time the platform was moved it left an oil crescent moon shape. One of the oil spots got transferred to the carpet which I had to clean that night. Other things that concerns me is a florescent fixture bulb contact was broken and a florescent bulb broken in our indirect lighting, without telling me. Then when needing to sand the ceiling [redacted] could not locate his handle for his sanding pad. I let him use a wood pole that I had. That is the last time that I saw it.
The whole job was on and off with days in between which I originally understood because this was not a huge job but it left us in plastic for days with dust blowing around.
I am not pleased with the lack of responsibility in doing a good job and the lack of respect for personal property and would not recommend R. Gilbert Drywall.
I plan to do the repairs myself because I do not care to wait any more.
