Review: I bought a 2004 Honda odyssey from Reo motors in April 2014. There were several issues with the car UPON FIRST INSPECTION BEFORE PURCHASE. It had a cracked front window, missing heat [redacted] electronic left passenger door did not open, electronics rear windows worked intermittently, and missing third row headrest(all three). I agreed to purchasing the car if they fixed all the above items. I remember signing a form with all the above items listed to be repaired/replaced. When I went to pick up the car a few days later after everything(loans/insurance) was finalized, everything was fixed but there were no headrest(all three 3rd row). I went back to tell the salesman and he said that that wasn't part of the agreement. I told him that it was because I wanted more taken off if the car didn't come with it when we first bargained the price I and remember him putting it on the list of items to repair/replace before I purchased the car. He said ok and ask what color they were. I told him that the color was gray.

A week later he tells me to come in because my headrest are in. I came in and he got me 3 cloth headrests when the car I purchased is all leather(leather headrest.) I told him I cannot except these because these are not the on right ones for my car. He went to his manger and we argued over the headrest. He went on a ramble about people complaining about their cars and he wanted to show a car that people were complaining about. I told him that has nothing to do with me and that all I want is the correct leather gray headrest(all three) that was initially agreed upon. He said that that has nothing to do with safety and that's the best they can do for me. He said that they spent 100 dollars on it and if I want the leather ones then I have to pay half of whatever it cost. I told him no because they order the wrong ones(how could they not know when they are the ones who sold me the car).I told them I'm not going to pay anything and if they can get me the correct ones as agreed upon before purchasing the car. They gave me the runaround saying its hard to find and it will be like $500 and they are not going to pay for it at that price. Then they told me that if I can find some then let them know. I told them that if I find them then will they pay for it and they said if it was a reasonable price. so I asked them what's reasonable. They said $200. I left because I had to run other errands. They were every rude in the fact that they think I was going to accept something that wasn't the correct item for my car. I don't know if this is breech in contact. I don't know what to do. I call the Honda dealer and they said they have some but they have to order and they would be $270 a piece. I haven't called anyone yet or done anything as I don't know what is legal or what can I do.Desired Settlement: I just want the correct leather gray headrest(all three 3rd row seat) with no hassle from the dealer. I don't feel as if I should have to copay half the price. This is unfair and I feel as if they just wanted me out of there as soon as possible and accept their cheap replacement that does not match the car they sold me. I don't know what is legal and what is not. I never specified if they were leather or not but I also assumed that it would be the similar to the ones that originally came with the car(leather and gray) not cloth, so I don't know what to do. They never asked if is was leather or cloth either but I assumed that they would know since they sold me the car and it was top of the line model with leather everything! I did sign a letter of the replacement/repairs to be made before purchasing the car but they have the copy. Please help as I don't know what to do. I feel as if they are being cheap and did said whatever they could to sell me the car without honoring the contract.

Review: My name is [redacted]. I bought a car from Reo Motors 9/29/2014. A silver 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving the car home after the purchase the same day, my check engine light comes on. I call reo motors and tell them the situation and they told me to bring the car back the next day and they will fix it. So I bring the car back and it takes them two days to fix it. I picks the car up and later that evening, the check engine light comes on again with the brake lights as well. I than call reo motors and they tell me to bring it back again, and they will fix everything. So I do, and it takes them 3 days to fix it. I haven't even had the car one week and they had to fix the vehicle two times but before I purchase the vehicle, no check engine or brake lights were on during the test drives. So after finally picking the car up after the second time in which the owner guaranteed me they were going to fix the car correctly, all of the lights came back on and the brakes were jamming and getting stuck when you step on the brake pedal. And this was a week or so after the owner of reo motors guaranteed me that the vehicle I purchased for $7,600.00 was going to be repaired correctly, I had to take the vehicle up there for a third time to be repaired. So after another 2-3 days I pick the car up after they claim to fix everything, the check engine light comes back on. This time they did fix the brakes but now the heat goes in and out. So I call reo motors and as usual they telling me to bring the vehicle up there again. I'm filing a complaint because this a lot of inconvenience for a mother with two kids(3 and 1) who thought she was purchasing a reliable vehicle to commute her family around safely and comfortably in this brutal weather in Wisconsin.Desired Settlement: I either want a refund so I can go purchase a reliable vehicle else were. Or a exchange for a reliable vehicle. Or guaranteed repairs on the record to Revdex.com that they will make this car reliable.

Re: Complaint ID [redacted]

Review: I purchased a 2003 Chevrolet Impala from Reo Motors March 5th, 2013. Approximatly a month later, the car started to shake and the motor was making a loud noise as well. So I called Reo Motors receptionists and she put me down for an appointment and informed me I had to drop my car off the next day at 8AM, so I did. At approximately 3PM that afternoon, Reo Motors had called me and informed me my car was ready and I just had to pay for diagnoistic, which was $40. The receptionists did not give me any paper work when I picked my car up. She had what was fixed written down on a blue and white folder, which I am assuming was put in my file? I know she said they fixed tie rods, cylinders, and a few other things I cant recall. So ther car rides fine, and runs fine besides minor issues like a dysfunctional air conditioner and trunk. Then October 12th, 2013 I travel to Green Bay, WI to visit my mother as soon as I get off the highway my car starts shaking and the engiene starts to make that funny sound again like it did back in April 2013. So I call Reo Motors and let them know what happened and they said bring my car in, how when I am over 200 miles away? So I informed the receptionists I was stuck in Green Bay, and had to get my car fixed immediately so I can go home and get back to work. So I got it fixed in Green Bay, or at least fixed enough so I could get home to Milwaukee. As soon as I got back I went to Reo Motors and asked for my service reports. They said I needed to speak to the service manager, well it seems the service manager is never there because I called just about everyday for him. Finally I went up there, and they told me he had just left. So I call back the next day and speak with the service manager and he told me it would take a week to find them becasue they were not organized and they would call me when they found my file and service reports. So a week goes by no call, so I call them. The receptionists claims she cant find them, I ask her to look again and call me back when she looks again. No call back. So I go back there to meet with the president of Reo Motors, [redacted]. I tell him my car is dysfunctional and they sold me a bad car. He claimed they dont do that at Reo Motors, I also told him I believe the work they claimed to do on my car, which took approximately 7 hours, lasted for about 5 months before that same problem happened again. [redacted] claimed that was impossible, and it was my fault. A motor problem is not a 5 month wear and tear, point blank period. He claims he will look into my file for service reports and call me back personally when he found my service reports. Of course no one calls back, so I end up calling back again and I left a message with the receptionists to tell [redacted] to call me back. [redacted] does end up calling back and leaving a voice mail, but I was at work. So I called back and he was not in anymore so I left a message with receptionists to tell him to call me back the next day. No call back since then. So Monday December 15th, 2013 my car starts shaking and making that noise again. So I take it to get looked at and right off the bat the mechanic tells me, its a bad motor. I need a new motor. No matter how many times it gets fixed the motor will keep breaking down. I hsouldnt have to put up with this if Reo Motors doesnt sell bad cars, liek they claim! From the first time Reo Motors worked on my car they knew it was a bad motor, but they chose to take advantage of me because I was a young female.Desired Settlement: I would like Reo Motors to own up to selling me a bad car from the start, with a dead motor. Now I am stuck with no car because I cant afford to pay for a new/used motor and labor. I havent even had this car for a year and I am dealing with motor problems! I have been patient and civil with Reo Motors and they havent even had the audacity to provide acceptable customer service to me. I need answers form them. I paid $2300 up front for a bogus car. I am paying a car note for a car that I cannot even drive! I would like Reo Motors to fix my car or compensate me my down payment so I can pay the bank back a majority of what I owe and get a car from a real, liable dealership that sells good cars. I had to spend money renting a car several times because of these motor problems, I now have to rent a car again for a week or so until I figure out what I am going to do about my car. I am the only one paying the price physically, mentally, and emotionally for Reo Motors selling me a bad car with a dysfunctional motor.

Response:

1. Our records indicate that the customer bought the vehicle on March 4, 2013.

2. The customer was given 30 days warranty on the vehicle or 1,000 miles whichever comes first.

3. The customer brought the car back more than 30 days after purchasing the vehicle.

4. Our records show that we serviced the "throttle body positioning sensor". It was cleaned adjusted

and reinstalled. This is what caused the vehicle to shake. The engine internally was not touched.

S. The accusations from the customer have no basis. REO Motors Inc. is not in the business to cheat

customers. We have been in the business since 1999.

6. The customer states she had problems with the car in October of 2013. The customer bought the car

on March 3, 2013. The car broke down October 12th, This is almost 7 months after the vehicle was

purchased and well over 15,000 miles later. If w'e did anything wrong to the vehicle, there is no way the

car would last for another 15,000 miles. The cause of the problem could be from any other issue with

the vehicle.

7. According to Carfax , the customer has been making oil changes to the vehicle every 7,000 miles. Oil

changes should be done every 3,000 miles. That may cause the engine to fail.

8. The customer has no warranty remaining on the vehicle.

Resolution:

In keeping with good customer satisfaction REO Motors Inc. is willing to offer the customer the

following:

1. Free car diagnostic to evaluate the vehIcle problem.

2. If the vehicle needs another engine we can offer the customer the following discount:

1. New engine installed with 3 years warranty / 36,000 mUes. (Regular price is $3,900.00, we

offer the customer a discount of $700.00 off the regular price.)

2. Used engine with 30 days warranty. ( Regular price is $1,850.00 we offer the customer a

discount of $600.00 off the regular price.)

3. Re~conditioned engine with newer parts and a 6 month warranty/6,000 miles. ( Regular price

$2,800.00 we offer the customer a discount of $800.00 off the regular price. )

I hope we can be of servIce to this customer's needs
