On October 22, we placed a condo reservation with Retreatia via VRBO for January to 29, On October 23, we called both Retreatia and VRBO to cancel our reservation due to an error with the dateWe were told by Retreatia that we would not receive a refund per their policy but could potentially receive a "partial prorated refund" if the condo is rebooked From October 23, the date of the call to cancel the reservation until January 24,,the date of the scheduled reservation we continued to receive emails from both VRBO and Retreatia regarding our 'upcoming trip'Each time we either called or emailed to remind them that the reservation was cancelled The reservation was NEVER cancelled, thus there was never an opportunity for this condo to be rebooked and thus there was never an opportunity for us to receive a partial refund We have copies of email responses to verify that these events occurred

Very poor experience with the management of this company They would not return an item left in the drawer of the rental unit, one can only determine they stole it follcalls and emails received no response The last time I called, a manager that appeared to be high, told me they could do nothing for me and that this was the first she had heard of the concern

We showed up to our 5-bedroom ski-in/ski-out condo in Steamboat for President's Day weekend with couples (and several small children) only to find out that Retreatia no longer managed the property, and never bothered to let us knowThis is for a reservation we booked and paid for several months in advance (and received confirmation emails from Retreatia with check in information, concierge info, etc)At 1:30am Retreatia re-routed us to a temporary 3-bedroom condo for the night (which was obviously tight and inadequate), and the next day they moved us again to accommodations that were not as nice as what we originally paid for (and required us to split up our group, and required one couple to sleep in twin beds with their kids on the floor, and another family of to share a double bed)In an effort to "make things right" Retreatia assured us that they would give us a full refund for our accommodations for the weekendWhen it was all said and done I had to fight them tooth and nail for a 50% refund, and dispute the difference with my credit card companyThe general manager (Brian) refused every one of my calls and left his staff to deal with the messThe staff apologized relentlessly, but said there was nothing they could do about itThis company is a total shamI strongly recommend going with a different company or just paying the extra VRBO booking fee - it's worth it for peace of mindThe lack of communication, lack of professionalism, and failure to follow through with what was promised (i.ea refund) leaves a lot to be desired from this property management companyAnd the GM's refusal to communicate and his inability to simply apologize for the inconvenience and assure us he'd do everything to fix the problem was simply outrageousNeedless to say, we lost an entire day of skiing on our 4-day ski trip which was a real bummer, especially for our friends who flew in and paid for lift tickets in advanceAnd had cranky kids (ages 2-5) who were up until 1:30am on our first night!
