I'm responding to complaint #*** against my company This work was completed in on a flat roof I removed old roof because it was falling in I installed new framing and sheeting I also installed drywall and textured ceiling The customer was using this area
as a deck to put furniture on and walk on at that time I explained to customer that she will need to put a deck on in order to continue to use the roof in that manner, so she would not ruin roof Customer was short on funds, so we did not install a deck at that time I gave the customer discounted rates; work at night and on the weekend at no extra cost to help her out on a house she bought in a condemned position.I received one phone call from customer and said I'd come take a look, but could not give a definite time, because this is my busy season Within days I received this letter from the Revdex.com I had already contacted a professional roofer and he reached out to customer via phone When the roofer arrived on May 17th, the customer could not remember her conversation with him due to her being heavily medicated for her illness Upon reviewing roof, the roofer discussed with customer the many reasons why the roof may be leaking One, the customer uses this area as a deck, puts furniture out there and sweeps area that can brush off granules of rolled roofing, causing it to fail Secondly, a tree limb had fallen on roof, damaged down spouts and gutters The gutters were full of leaves too This leaves no where for water to go and can penetrate roof Lastly the man door that goes out to roof had been replaced by another contractor after I completed my work The contractor cut out the flashing to install a threshold and did not caulk areas which can cause water to penetrate roof.In summary, the professional roofer's opinion was that the work I did was fine The described situations above are all factors in her roof leaking My work is beyond any warranty period and any repairs would come at a charge.Regards,Robert O***RHO Remodeling, LLC
