R.M. Custom Improvements

R.M. Custom Improvements was contracted to install a pre-hung double glass door and install a custom window above the doors. The install required the original opening to be moved in by 2-feet and new door frame built at the top and to one side where the frame was moved. R.M. Custom Improvements, owner and contractor [redacted], installed the door by cutting the door frame and leaving a gap around the door and installing it where it was uneven by 1/2 inch to one inch. He also took part of our door casing home and our ladder and never returned it. The "custom" window install above the door juts out on one side by about 1/2 inch. Mr. [redacted] also cut the top off of one door and the bottom off of another door meaning that the doors will not match up now and we will likely have to buy a new pre-hung double glass door. Mr. [redacted] will not acknowledge the errors in the installation and has left the job incomplete. We do NOT want him to return to our home except to bring the casing and the ladder.Desired SettlementWe paid Mr. [redacted] $700 cash to install the door. We would like a refund of all of the money since we will likely have to buy another door for $500 and we will have to pay for repair of the mess that he left. If he does not return the casing and ladder we will also have to buy new casing and a new ladder.
