on March *** *** brought in his Harley-Davidson FLH Shovelhead for collision repairAfter an extensive estimate was done and sent to the Insurance company the customer decided to only repair certain itemsOne of those items was his handlebar controlsWe ordered the stock parts for
that bike but realized his were differentCustomer was insistent that he wanted the ones he had which were for a different bikeEven though these special ordered parts are non-refundable I decided that the shop would take the loss and we ordered him the parts that he wanted just to keep our customer happyAfter numerous other repairs we installed a stock swing arm as his was damagedWe also ordered him a new rear wheel and installed his old tire on it as requestedOnce installed we realized that his tire was too big and would not fit under his fenderI asked him if he wanted us to install the correct size tireHe opted to not have the correct size tire put onCustomer stated at this time that he had a custom swing arm before that was shorter so it made the bike sit higherHe also stated that we should have known thisThe motorcycle was wrecked when we received it so there would have been no way we could have unless he specifically told usHad he done that I would have had no problem with installing the swing arm of his choice as they are the same price anyway and he is paying for itAt this time I decided that we were not going to pay for another swing arm as there was another solution which was install the correct tireCustomer requested motorcycle repair and soon after decided that he wanted custom work done for freeAfter we were done with all of the other repairs he requested none of which he had any complaints about because they were difficult repairs, he decided to pick the motorcycle up and install the custom swing arm himselfThe next day the customer called me very angry and unreasonably belligerent so I ended our conversationThe next day I received a threatening text message from him stating that we switched tires on his bike and that is why it did not fitHe claims that he is going to show up at the shop unannounced, not alone and that I was going to regret my mistakesI called him to tell him that I had a photo of the tire while it was on the damaged rim clearly showing that his tire was installed on his new rim but of course he did not answerI will gladly share his threatening text, repair order, photos and answer any questions you may have for me
