We would like to clarify that *** *** was not present while we did this job, his brother *** *** was the one who met us at the property when we did the work on 10/31/After the agreed upon work was completed for $700.00, including pumping out the septic tank and pit, the customer was
explained the importance of chemicals when the technicians recommended them for an additional $200.00, this was also written on the invoice we left with the customerThe chemicals are not a requirement, as some customers have their own alternative solutions and most customers appreciate having that option, but our technicians always recommend them and explain whyThe customer refused chemicals knowing this and signed the invoice approving of the work done and acknowledging the recommendationThe customer called us again on 12/5/after issues recurred and requested us to come outHis complaint states that we "couldn't figure out the problem", but we did figure out the problemThe issue was the septic tank was full again and we left a very reasonable estimate of $to pump out the pit again and treat it with chemicalsThe customer again refused the chemical treatmentPlease note that this was not a septic tank inspection, so there is no way we could guarantee the integrity of the tank or know if the tank will have issues in the future, even with acid treatmentPlease let us know if you require any documents or informationThank you

Dear customer,The estimate of included picking up, delivering, and installing the water heater you purchased along with hauling off the old oneBecause the water heater you chose had a temperature and pressure relief valve on the side while your old water heater had one on the top, it wasn't
as simple as taking out the old water heater and putting in the new oneThe T&P relief valve was connected to copper line so we would need to redirect the copper piping to the new T&P relief valve locationYou also required new supply lines, as they were both corroded and at least one (hot side) was leakingThere is no possible way we could have known of these issues before visiting your locationOf course an over the phone estimate is subject to change if we get to your location and find out that you have multiple other issues that were unknown when the estimate was givenThis is uncommon, as we regularly install water heaters which are provided by the customer, however it is possibleThe total estimate (which was never given in person as you told our technicians to leave before letting them explain why it would cost more), including picking up, delivering, and installing the new water heater, hauling away the old water heater, replacing the hot and cold supply lines, and redirecting the copper line to reconnect the temperature and pressure relief valve was $This is including a customer satisfaction discount. If you would still like this work done, we would gladly deduct the you already paid from the estimate, leaving for the remaining workWe do offer free estimates, however the you paid is a basic service fee for a weekend when any work is involvedIn this case, our technicians picked up and delivered your water heater to youThank you,***

I am rejecting this response because:Robo says: "The purpose of the acid is the first step to getting the septic system working again." That is very tellingIf it's the first step, then why is it an option? If your going to do a job, then do it right!! Robo Plumbing is a state licensed contractor and has fiduciary duty in protecting their customersLetting the customer decide is not an excuseIf the product is that important, then put the $in the up-front cost on the phone; don't wait until the customer is looking at a $bill and say, "well, wait. We recommend a chemical treatment, too." I think anybody reading this would conclude that putting the $in the original price (meaning it's not an option, but part of the necessary service) would have stopped all of this. My *** my brother, has signed paperwork explaining what I say is true, and btw, I'm the one who found Robo in the first place because they were close to our location that we both live onI was told $on the first phone callAnother thing in a previous letter: Robo Stated they tried calling and that they tried working with us, well, that's all we ever wanted, and by their behavior they still don't want to help, but if that's true then why not just drive to the homeAnd if it's true why no HELP now. Robo says, "We'd also like to note that the septic system took over four weeks to back up again, not two." Is it me, or is that being petty?' OK OK, they may be right, but does it really matter if it's weeks or 4??? And they say, "....we are sorry to say that your system is likely ruined now," Great, we ruined the system. What's the solutionRobo said in their first letter, " The issue was the septic tank was full again and we left a very reasonable estimate of $to pump out the pit again and treat it with chemicals." OK, we must have missed that, but that sounds good to us$to re-pump the tank and add chemicals. I look forward to moving on in a positive direction and hope this is all a big misunderstandingA+ companies our always willing to helpThis I know.Cordially,*** ***

? ? The customer was offered chemicals, which the plumber recommended, and the customer denied themSome customers who deny the chemical treatment have no further issues, so it is not necessarily a requirement to get your septic system in working orderSometimes customers deny chemical treatment and their septic tank backs up again, then after we pump out the system again and provide chemicals it is in working condition againNo company guarantees septic systems The chemical option was explained to [redacted]e, who was at the home and the one we dealt with for the entirety of this job, not his brother [redacted], when given the estimate to service his septic systemThe purpose of the acid is the first step to getting the septic system working again$is worth a shot before spending $12,to install a new dry draining area from liquids being saturated in the groundOur supervisor, [redacted], called the customer about his complaint, but the customer's phone disconnected and he never called us back After years of not servicing your septic system, we are sorry to say that your system is likely ruined now, however we would still recommend chemical treatment first as a cheaper alternative that might get your seepage pit draining againWe'd also like to note that the septic system took over four weeks to back up again, not two We have two proposed solutions for the customer's problem: The first is that they have their septic tank and seepage pit pumped out again, this time treating the pit with chemicals (we have to pump the pit first before adding chemicals to it)If the customer were to use us, this would cost 875.00, however, we recommend the customer calls a different company to get a second opinionThe second solution would be to replace the septic system, which would cost the customer approximately $12, Thank you? ? ? I am rejecting this response because:
Robo plumming started out at $then they added $for pickup of the new water heater and $for removal of the old water heater plus $for each for the two hose connection plus additional fees for connecting the copper pipesThis adds up to $dollars before the copper pipingThis is price gouging and it needs to stop
