In September of 2013, our office was contacted by [redacted] to place an ad in RM Parent Magazine. We had not pursued a print ad with any other publication so determinedwe would try this for 1 year and then determine the return on investment. On September 23, 2013 we signed an agreement which states in [redacted]'s handwriting that we would be automatically billed $349 for 12 months beginning November 15, 2013. There was also was also VERY FINE print which stated that the terms would automatically renew "for our convenience". Consequently, they charged the practice credit card for the agreed upon time as stated on the original contract but also charged December 2014-February 2015. When called on January 26, 2014, we were forced to leave a message. We did not receive a return call. We phoned again on February 5th at which time we were able to speak to Mr. [redacted] and on February 11th, I received an email with a copy of the contract attached (which I already had in my possession.) He indicated that the auto renewal policy was clearly stated on the contract. On February 12th, I emailed [redacted] and asked if he would please reconsider the February charge only. Again, no response. I emailed on February 23rd and asked if received my previous email. He responded with "I have. What do you want me to do?" I indicated that what I wanted him to do was expressed in my email on February 12th. His response to that was "I will review it with our attorney who drafted this agreement and respond back to you the minute I hear back if our position has oscillated." We will see if there if I hear from him again. My guess is that I will not.
