Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below In response to Mr [redacted] letter, the transmission would not select the third gear, so had to be taken out and overhauledThe springs had to be replaced , the shock had to be replaced , the engine is now stripped down awaiting a rebuildThe mechanic has taken photos and in his opinion the engine hasn't been rebuilt only dressed up , this can be seen by the amount of sludge under the rocker covers It would have been easy to drive the car onto a trailer as it wouldn't have had to change gearHe engine was revving on full when delivered to me, we in fact pushed the car off the transporter into my garageI called out the RAC (Recovery organisation in England) to look at it to get the car drivableThe mechanic told me that a spring had been put on wrongly to the carburettor , which was a quick fixAgain I have photographic evidence of the work that needs to be done and an independent report I still find it hard to believe that Mr [redacted] is trying to pass the blame onto the shipping company.can he confirm that he was there when the car was loaded onto the transportation vehicle when it was collected ? One point which me [redacted] stated to me that the rear plastic window in the soft top was clear , was absolute rubbish and again I've had to replace thisHe told me the Rev counter was fine and that a new cable had Ben fitted, this does not work , he also told me all the dials worked, the clock doesn'tI was finding one thing after another wrong, and all the response I got was , it was fine when it left and was either the shipping company or the garage in England This is totally unexceptable , especially as I have photographs to prove itAnd as for Mr [redacted] stating it doesn't sound like the same car he was sellingI had to agree because the car I received certainly isn't the one Mr [redacted] has described Yours sincerely [redacted]

From reading this complaint one would first conclude that Silverstone had not responded to the numerous emails that we have been sentThat would not be the case as both we and the client have a complete file of all correspondenceThe client is correct when he suggests that I said the car that
arrived to him did not sound like the car that left my warehouse and I will re-iterate once again, why. This is a copy of the last correspondence sent to by Silverstone and nothing has changed."Hello ***.. As I have said on multiple occasions, the car left here in perfect condition, was driven out of my warehouse and onto the truck that you had sent; no transmission problem, no stuck throttle in fact no problem at allI previously said to you that based on your description, the car you were delivered was not the car that left hereYou said that the car delivered was not the car you were soldLet me be clear that the car that left here was exactly the car that was sold and as described in the listing; a 60-year-old survivor with only 26,original miles on herThe car is not new and was not restored; however, the previous owner has over $35,in receipts for the work done to bring her back to life. For your records, attached is a bill from July 30th of last year for a complete rebuild of the transmission which cost the previous owner $2,.. Seems implausible to me that the transmission was rebuilt in July and has to come out of the car for a complete rebuild after less than miles I assume you have worked with these people you are using before - and that they know what they are doing? Feel free to call the shop who did the work as their number is on the receipt so that you might validate the work done. Now you need new leaf springs because you have been told the car needs them? Attached are pictures of the car before it left here that show there is no list either left to right nor front to back .. I know for a fact that an American car from the 50's that has only been driven 26,miles will not have a list one way or the other unless it is totally rusted outI have attached a picture of the underneath of the car when it was pulled out of storage, not cleaned up nor touched at all and as you can see, no rust whatsoeverPersonally it appears to me that you are being taken and there is a huge credibility problem that gets further exacerbated with every new malady your mechanics say they have found with the car.I only know what condition the car was in when it left here; exactly as described and outstanding in every wayYou arranged the shipping of the car so in essence it was in your possession from the minute it left my warehouse so we do not know nor do we bear any responsibility for what these people did to the car en-route to you ..Again, sorry you are having these issues but they did not exist when the car left here."That is the end of the email. The car left Silverstone in perfect condition, as stated it was started, driven and loaded on the truck by the driver who came to collect the car, no problems at all The photo copied invoice "from some garage" was sent to show the client that the transmission had been completely rebuilt by a transmission shop known for their work on classic cars and that the work was performed in July and approximately miles agoI don't think it is at all unreasonable to send him this and to be skeptical regarding a complete transmission rebuild - againI posted approximately pictures of this car online so that anyone interested could clearly see the condition The numerous shots of the car on the lift after coming out of storage show cobwebs on the undercarriage, and no rust, I am happy to provide the pictures againI also shot a short video of the car being driven into the previous owners driveway that was posted on the listing and there was no issue with this car at allNow he says the engine has to be rebuiltI am concerned that the shipping company informed him that the throttle was stuck wide open and that this was caused by a spring placement; that is ridiculousWhy exactly was the car at full throttle? If they indeed ran the car with the motor at full throttle then it is quite possible that damage was done while in the shipping companies possession; I don't think that making that connection is absurd at allIf there had been any issue with the cars aesthetics or mechanics, this would have been documented at the time of pickupThere were none.Over the past years we have sold over cars online and have received outstanding reviews on our service, our honesty and the accuracy of the vehicles described on deliveryWe strive for excellence and value the relationships we have with our clientsWe continue to empathize with the clients situation in this case but this car was in perfect condition when it left our premises, we did not arrange transportation and again, will not take any responsibility for damage done after it was turned over to the shipper

In response to Mr [redacted] letter, the transmission would not select the third gear, so had to be taken out and overhauled. The springs had to be replaced , the shock had to be replaced , the engine is now stripped down awaiting a rebuild. The mechanic has taken photos and in his opinion the engine hasn't been rebuilt only dressed up , this can be seen by the amount of sludge under the rocker covers . It would have been easy to drive the car onto a trailer as it wouldn't have had to change gear. He engine was revving on full when delivered to me, we in fact pushed the car off the transporter into my garage. I called out the RAC (. Recovery organisation in England) to look at it to get the car drivable. The mechanic told me that a spring had been put on wrongly to the carburettor , which was a quick fix. Again I have photographic evidence of the work that needs to be done and an independent report . I still find it hard to believe that Mr [redacted] is trying to pass the blame onto the shipping company.can he confirm that he was there when the car was loaded onto the transportation vehicle when it was collected ? One point which me [redacted] stated to me that the rear plastic window in the soft top was clear , was absolute rubbish and again I've had to replace this. He told me the Rev counter was fine and that a new cable had Ben fitted, this does not work , he also told me all the dials worked, the clock doesn't. I was finding one thing after another wrong, and all the response I got was , it was fine when it left and was either the shipping company or the garage in England . This is totally unexceptable  , especially as I have photographs to prove it. And as for Mr [redacted] stating it doesn't sound like the same car he was selling. I had to agree because the car I received certainly isn't the one Mr [redacted] has described Yours sincerely [redacted]
