I am unsure if this is a legitimate business. Is it real or am I being scammed? I had internet problems, cell phone and computer security problems, *** internet service said they sent this independent contractor to contact me. He came into my house several times. I trusted him to go through my lab top, instal my router, know my router passwords everything. Then after he left I still wasn’t secure, me and whoever was using my WiFi were getting hacked still. I finally unhooked the router, went without internet since he was here basically. Still no solution. I noticed recently on my phone that I had a sent email to the owner of this company, ***, with a subscribed news forwarded to him. I did not send anything to him. Haven’t tried to contact him. Let alone forward a news article to him. When he was in my house I talked to him about my divorce, he said he knew my attorney very well. And told me a story about a conversation they had. Checked with my attorney and she didn’t know him at all. Never heard of him. Or the company. Recently I was trying to get my internet set back up, so I called my provider, they couldn’t find me as a customer. Until I mentioned my ex wife. Then they found her name attached to my address as the only name on the account. When before this guy was involved I was on the account. Somehow it got changed, she hasn’t lived here in years. He sent me a bill for his services, which I didn’t pay, at the time I was still trying to get him to come back and get me a better router with more security hooked back up, so I was planning on paying him once he did what he was supposed to do, give me proper WiFi with increased security. He did neither so I didn’t pay him. I later find out, through my ex wife he is “telling everyone” I didn’t pay him. I’m not sure how she even knows the guy, bc she uses a different provider for one thing. But that’s a different issue. First I’d like to know is this guys business legit? Real?
This
complaint has no justification and needs to be removed. I spoke with Dr.
*** in regard to his complaint on May 11th 2020. We
discussed the fact that I reached out to him several times to move forward on
the project to resolve issues with his home network. On the first visit I
addressed viruses on his computer and malware. Also, the computer had issues with updates for Windows and there were security
updates for his phone that needed to be installed. I worked to resolve his issues
and had come to his house several times to discuss additional items for
resolution of the issue. The bill was
for labor that I performed in October of 2019. I also told Dr. *** that
other family members may have phones, tablets and other items were possibly
infected and compromised as we had discussed. I explained that I have nothing
to do with his personal life and "hacking" into his network as this
is illegal. Once again, we discussed his project of getting a business-based
firewall and that he needed antivirus and malware protection on all his devices
and his family’s members devices. I explained several times my Business do
not always sell hardware or software and only sell’s support services with
labor and consulting. The cost of some hardware and software cost are best
purchased by the customer based on subscriptions and maintenance with the
vendors. Dr. *** must purchase the recommended hardware and software for me
to work on additional steps of mediation of the problems. I have sent
quotes for them several times. We discussed a few other issues and items
that he listed in this complaint, filed with the Revdex.com. I feel this complaint needs to be removed and
that the issue is resolved till he moves forward on the other items, we
discussed on May 11th, 2020. He told me he would contact the Revdex.com to
remove the complaint and would contact me to work on resolving the items we discussed
in the future. I am a legitimate business
and have a Federal Tax ID and a SCC ID and have over 200 customers, with most
being Small Businesses in the New River Valley. Obviously, he has not contacted the Revdex.com on this matter, but this issue
