The claim made by **. and [redacted]. [redacted] is not correct nor true. I was asked to help them finish a basement in [redacted]. [redacted] fathers home so they could live down there. My business was not involved whatsoever this was me helping out my girlfriends brother in law and sister!I was given...

$6000.00 to buy materials for the basement not $6,600.00 like stated and also spent some of my personal money trying to help them, along with my time. There was no bill or invoice from my company due to the fact that I solely did this as a favor to help them get on their feet. I think these accusations are brought on by a family dispute. As far as all of these accusations and complaints, this was NOT a contracted job!! It was a favor. I am not required to completely fix the whole house up. I'm very hurt and disappointed that trying to do someone a favor has backfired on me this badly and now they want to try to drag my well accredited business into it. Thank you for your time and I would appreciate no further contact from **. and [redacted]. [redacted].Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. Strouse can label this anyway he would like but we recieved one other estimate which was $5,300.00 to complete the basement so we could live downstairs. The job was given to Strouse Construction because he was within a $300.00 difference of the other estimate. Mr.Strouse being at $5,000.00 and that Mr. Strouse was dating a family member and his company was in the slow season. We decided it would be ok to let him perform the work. The job was handled the first few days with a professional attitude and behavior. **. Strouse brought in one of his employees, himself and his electrician and then it seemed to slowly go downhill from there. After the basement walls were dry locked and the walls were framed out and the electrical and cable wires were installed Mr. Strouse disappeared for a few days and leaving us to wonder when or what was going to happen next. I was forced to pressure Mr. Strouse to please come and build the platform for the new washer and dryer that was being delivered. This job not only cost us $1600 more then the original estimate it has also caused many family issues and has yet to be completed. In no way, shape, or form was this a "buddy"helping a "buddy." I have been asking Mr. Strouse to finish his work here at [redacted] for several months now as well as a receipt.

Review: I am writing this letter regarding the work performed by Strouse Construction at [redacted] Pa [redacted]. The work performed is falling apart. The trim work put up is falling off. The pipes that were pushed and pulled to get the drywall up are now stressed and leaking. I have huge holes in my ceiling where the lights are at because it wasn't measured properly. He explained that we would be able to fit an air conditioner in the window. He did not mention however that the windows would have to be removed. The cement ledge that was supposed to be put up by the entry was never put up and the rain just leaks into the house and is damaging my carpet and furniture. I am literally in tears watching my belongings be destroyed by the rain leaking in. The sides of the doors leak very badly. The lights that were put in the bedroom do not work and make a buzzing noise when turned on. The lights in the back part of the basement above the washer and dryer blow brand new bulbs every two days. Plus the light that was cut out and a new one was supposed to be installed. These are just a few things that are very troublesome. I asked for a receipt and never received one. I have plenty of pictures and when I asked the owner to come fix it he nonchalantly blew me off. This was 4 months ago.Desired Settlement: I would like for him to come and finish what he didn't finish and fix what he said he was going to fix.
