The mature Locust trees had never been trimmed and the canopies were very thick and full, so much so that from the ground it was not apparent the extent of the trimming and deadwood needed Estimates are completed from the ground we do not climb into the trees to get an up close look The canopies on the trees are so expansive they extend out and cover the majority of the customer's property including the house, yard and spa The estimator could not see completely into them due to how full they were from never being trimmed All of the estimators who provided quotes made an educated guess as to the extent of the work based on what was visible at the time of the estimate The fact that all estimates were close in price is evidence that all estimators made the same judgements from the ground based on what they could see We are certain that any other company trimming the trees would have come to the same conclusion as we did once they were up in the trees and could see inside the canopies We are very experienced and these trees were not typical of other locust trees we encounter and we work in hundreds of them each year Our written contract terms explain that if a condition is not apparent when estimating the work any additional time needed shall be paid for by the customer on a time and material basis This does not happen often in fact less than times over the past years The extent of the cross over branches and dead wood in the trees was way more than and not visible from the ground Had the additional trimming been a quick and easy thing our crew would have taken care of it yet the additional trimming will take 1- 1/hours Our crew already spent extra hours trimming the trees than the estimator planned That work was done at no extra charge and at a breakeven point for the companyAs Mr [redacted] stated “I am not an arborist, a tree trimmer by trade, nor professing to be a tree care professional” which we don’t expect him to be Based on that our very experienced staff explained how & why some of the work was not visible until we climbed & entered inside the tree canopiesWe are being completely honest and just stating the facts We offered and are still willing to complete additional work at a very reasonable hourly rate and to schedule it promptly

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Just following up on your note. ATC did in fact finally contact me directly. They sent their crew leader out last week on Saturday morning to correct the problem on his own time. He has satisfactorily corrected and addressed the areas of the tree left untrimmed on their initial visit to do the job. Thanks you for helping me to resolve this issue
