Review: When a company performs a tune up consisting of replacing spark plugs, their wires, and a fuel filter, it's amazing to see my vehicle performing as poorly as it is. The so called mechanic/owner rules out one possibility by performing certain tests right in front of a customer and turns around the next day and says it IS the problem makes it hard to believe they know what they are doing. Especially since the solution they now offer is the most expensive work they can do, but again they don't even advertise that they do this kind of in depth work. Are they even certified to do this? Where would I be if I let them perform this work and it isn't done correctly? I fear something may have been tampered with when I left my vehicle alone in their care. No documents were ever signed by myself or even shown until they were asking for their payment. I will be doing research to see if filing a claim with my auto insurance under the clause of vandalism will help me be able to make any potentially expensive repairs to my vehicle because of their negligence.

Response:
Customer came in with engine running rough. No codes were present in computer. After test drive & inspecting spark plugs, we suggested it needed a tune-up. Customer verbally ok'd job. We installed new plugs, wires & fuel filter in truck (these parts were needed - we still have the bad parts). Engine continued to run badly. Water was noted on one spark plug which we told customer may indicate that a head gasket is needed. He did not want us to check it out any further. Customer neglected to tell us that it started running badly after purchasing gas, which would have told us that the problem could have been due to water in his fuel. We gave the customer a ride back to our shop from his house (approx. 20 miles at no cost to him.) Then he said he didn't have the money to pay for the work he had ok'd. The parts cost $77.36 & the labor was $54.00. He only paid $35.00 toward the bill. We let him take his truck with the understanding he would pay the balance due on Friday, Nov. 2nd. He has paid nothing further to date.
