The Butcher Block

My experience with Clear-View Companies LLC left a lot to be desired. Let's start with the scheduling. After I signed the contract and made a substantial payment we did not hear from them. After calling and trying to find out when they would begin I was told I would get a call back. After my check was cashed and not hearing from them I told them I wanted to cancel. The salesman told me that I would not get my money back and that the owner David B. was so good at the legal aspects that cancelling would be a big mistake.
I finally got a date of commencement. One day into the remodeling we were told there were unforeseen construction issues and that they had to address them to continue and that would add to the costs. We really felt backed into a corner so we paid it. Then the company sent a different set of guys to do the drywall, one of them broke some stuff of ours in the garage while we were out. My housekeeper told me that one of them smelled like alcohol.
After that we were told that we needed to make another payment immediately, which was fine, but the owner of Clear-View showed up to our house unexpectedly the very next morning explaining to me that he needed more money. I went back to my desk and showed him the numbers and the contract, I cut him a check and he left.
This was the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The last straw was when he decided to make things like installing a sink an extra cost. Umm I thought that a bathroom remodel would include that. They did install the drawers that go underneath the sink. Now we have drawers and no top. I guess every time he wanted more money he would come up with "oh, well that's not included" For example the shower doors weren't included either, but they did install the fixtures such as the shower, but not the faucet or sink go figure. We were really at their mercy until finally my fiancé told me we should just cut our losses and cut him a check, and find someone else to do the job. That's what we did. To add insult to injury when we first tried our shower water was leaking from the joints. What a mess. BEWARE of this company.
