My original experience at The Furniture Spot was professional and I entered at my own risk, even though the sign on the door was fraudulent and a totally obvious rip off
liability claim in large print on the door. When I my furniture didn't arrive, I had to call multiple times to see where my furniture was. When I finally cancelled, it was too easy. They didn't do anything to keep my business (didn't offer me a coffee table, a throw rug or anything). Then 9 days later, their finance company messed up and they still didn't try to make me a satisfied customer in anyway shape, form or fashion. Too convenient.

Manager [redacted] failed to honor credit of $484 t0 customer after selling items that were not longer available to be reordered as well.On 11/01/2011 items #[redacted] Sofa-$309 & a TV Stand-$349 + State-$31.26 + County-$14.81 were placed on layaway at The Furniture Spot all totaling $704.07 that was honored by Manager [redacted] without due date put in place. I paid $484 toward the items. In the course of payments being in place Manager had sold items without a replacement order being available. Manager told me that I could not get a refund but credit would be honored. I informed him that I was not pleased with his decision since there were no other items of my desire at the time. Time went on. I checked back & forth a the store manager still agreed to honor credit over my time of continuing to visit the store. On 8/28/12 I had a bad car accident that put in the hospital and out of work for more then 4 months. Once able to visit the store again, shared with manager [redacted] of my accident which he gave his sympathy and still stated would honored credit that was still showing on books of $484. I even informed a friend to see if there were something that she could poosibly used out of the store and then we would work out an arrangement but no items to her desired as well as asking other customers prior to entering store of credit for exchange of funds but nothing worked out. On 1/20/2015 finally my daugther decided she wanted a bed and I wanted a lamp the totaled $488.91 through assistance of saleperson [redacted] items were wrote up but Manager [redacted] did not honor credit of $484 and stated credit was too old. I informed him of the fact that he always stated that he would honor the credit and would always check the system to confirm the credit so why not would he not honor it. He stated was too old. I told him per him honoring the credit that he never gave me a due date every time I came into the store and he never said otherwise about being too old but that he would honor. But on 1/30/2015 not only did he not honor my money credit of $484 he also decided to reduce to credit amount to half amount of $242 of what he is now stating that he will honor. I do not agree with this decision for someone to not only keep my money after he sold the items but then also reduce my credit amount. I have no items or my money that still shows on the accounting book of The Furniture Spots.Desired SettlementAt this point of going back and forth to the store and the Manager [redacted] reducing my credit and original items not being available.... I am seeking a full refund of $484 and for time and gas and extra $200 all totaling $684.Business Response In regards to this matter, on January 20, 2015, Ms. [redacted] came to The Furniture Spot in order to use an expired store credit from November 1, 2011. Upon speaking to manager [redacted], as so much time had elapsed (years) without hearing from Ms. [redacted], only a 50% credit for the amount she had paid could be offered from The Furniture Spot. Ms. [redacted] had paid $484.00 on November 1, 2011, and $50.00 on February 20, 2012, totaling $534.00 paid. The Furniture Spot offers layaway for a total of 90 days, and it is company policy that if the merchandise has not been paid for in full within 90 days, the transaction is void and the merchandise is returned to the showroom floor to be sold. At this time, the merchandise that Ms. [redacted] had selected is discontinued by the manufacturer, therefore no longer available, yet the offer to reselect merchandise was still an option. As this merchandise was not paid for in full on November 1, 2011, this transaction was considered a layaway and should have been voided on February 1, 2012, but was still honored when Ms. [redacted] came in on February 20, 2012. From February 20, 2012 until January 20, 2015 we had not heard anything from Ms. [redacted]. As there had not been any transactions on her account for three years, her account is now void. Upon explaining this to Ms. [redacted] on January 20, 2015, she was clearly upset, which is why [redacted] offered a 50% store credit on the amount she had paid. The 50% credit equals $267. This amount would be honored for 30 days after January 20, 2015. As we have not heard from Ms. [redacted] since January 20, 2015, this offer has expired. As a last effort to please this customer, The Furniture Spot will offer a final extension of the amount of $267.00 store credit that will expire on March 31, 2015. If Ms. [redacted] does not use this store credit by its expiration date, no further action will be taken in regards to her account.

Was told to send copy of receipt where I paid for furniture the store was closing and I would not be getting the furniture. Have not received refund. In February 2015 I purchased furniture by check and was told it would be delivered in 4 weeks. After 4 weeks we called and were told they had the mattress but would deliver it all at once it should be in in the next week. Called again on April 7 and the store called back left a message that items should be in on April 9. On April 9 called the store and was told the store was going out of business and if we paid by check we would need to send a request with a copy of the receipt to a PO Box # in Wake Forest NC and they would send me a refund. It has been two weeks and we have not seen a refund or heard from anyone. I gave my number as well as address and again we have not heard anything. When we purchased the items in February we were never told the store was closing.Desired SettlementA full refund of the $ 1850.00 that we paid for furniture we did not receive.

closed store without delivering furnitureI heard a radio ad that the store was having a closeout sale. I don't recall it saying cash or checks only but it may have. I schlepped 25 miles on the last day of the sale, 4/12, specifically to go there. I found a couch, end table, and bedside table I wanted, and then was told cash or checks only. I went to the ATM, got a $200 deposit to hold the items, drove back home to get my checkbook, and wrote a check for the balance. I wanted to set up a delivery date but was told they would contact me that week. Six days later, they have not contacted me and their phone has been disconnected. I did attempt to email them through the Contact Us page on their website but I'm sure it's not being monitored. I did at least bring home the two tables, but they are absolutely not worth $800. Desired SettlementI either want my money back (less the value of the tables) or my couch!

No Delivery of Product and Cant get in touch with anyoneHello. I purchased a sofa and loveseat for $600 and was supposed to get it deliver within 2-3 days but never received a call from a call from the business. I went to the location and they have been closed regardless if its morning or evening. I very disappointed in the service of not allowing customers to get furniture after they cashed they check with no issues. I want my furniture or money back ASAP!!!!Desired SettlementI would either like either my furniture or would like refund of $600

Authorized 100.00 non refundable deposit on my debit card. The store charged $1,340.06 the balance owed if I decided to purchase furniture.Visit The Furniture Spot on 03/29/2014. The owner of the store was retiring and they where having a sale. I selected furniture from the store catalog. I informed my salesperson ([redacted]) that I was undecided about the furniture but woud be paying cash if I purchase the furniture. [redacted] informed me that I could put a $100.00 non-refundable deposit on my card and pay the full balance in cash Monday 03/31/14. [redacted] informed me that they would not order the furniture until I paid the full amount. However, I would need to contact the store if I no longer wanted the furniture and I would lose my $100.00 non-refundable deposit. I contacted the store Sunday 03/30/14 and spoke with [redacted] and he referred me to his boss. I gave the man the invoice number and my name and informed him that I would not be purchasing the furniture. I asked him if I need to come to the store and submitted something in writing. His response was "No, No you will not get your $100.00 back. The item numbers are Ashley XXX-XX-XX, XXX-XX-XX and XXX-XXXX. The man wrote $100.00 non-refundabe depoist on invoice and balance due $1,340.00. Desired SettlementProduce document authorizing them to debit my account for $1,340.06. The Furniture Spot should return the $1,340.00 back to my account. Business Response Customer already acknowledged our mistake and her refund has been issued. We do apologize for the misunderstanding.Consumer Response Company agreed to return 1,340.00 back to my account. Will let you know when it appears back in my account.Final Consumer Response

I purchase furniture from the furniture shop and pay in full with delivery and no product has been delivered after numerous attempts to retrieve it.I purchased a wooden bunk bed from the furniture spot on April 3, 2015. The total cost of the bunk bed, two twin mattresses, two bunkie boards, 3 draws, with stairs on the side along with delivery was $550.00. I gave the furniture spot $25 on my credit card to hold furniture and $525.00 in cash both on April 3, 2015. The sales person I spoke with was [redacted] and an older man was also present for the sale. I was told that delivery would be set up the following Monday since it was already late in the evening. On Monday no one called. On Tuesday, Wednesday I called to set up delivery and was told there was an computer issue with the invoice because the owner was ill. I went in the store and talked with the delivery guys on Thursday (One was name [redacted]. I was again told the delivery would be made in the next two days. No delivery was made. I called on 3 other occasions to receive a tone for two calls and the third call I spoke with a man from the liquidation company that was helping with the business. No delivery was made. I returned to the store and spoke with both the initial sales person [redacted] as well as the liquidation representative and was told that delivery was going to be made on that Monday which was April 13. No delivery was made. When I called Wednesday morning the phone was disconnected and the store was closed. I have been calling everyday since then for the last 9 days as well as going by the store front twice a day. No once is there and can be contacted. No money was refunded or furniture deliveriedDesired SettlementI want my $550.00 refunded to me immediately as an first option. As an second option I will still be willing to have them delivery or even pick up the wooden bunk bed with stairs and draws, two twin mattresses, and two bunkie boards.

I purchased multiple bar stools from The Furniture Spot on Capital Blvd in Raleigh, NC. Monday, March 3rd I left with 4 of 5 bar stools I was strongly persuaded to purchase. The representative and later confirmed by the Owner that I would receive the last chair on Tuesday of the following week (March 11th). As the week rolled by on Friday, the 14th I called in concerned about my purchase. The representative who answered my call recognized my order and said the chair would be in on Saturday, March 22nd and I could come by and grab it. Unfortunately, the week of the 24th I realized I forgot to grab the chair so I had a friend of mine swing by late that week. He was told that the chair needed to be assembled, so give them more time. When I called in I spoke with a lady who made the same comments and told me not to worry they would give me a call as soon as they are done; they had been real busy. Today, on April 3rd I called to let them know I had not received a call and would like my money reimbursed. A rude gentlemen with an accent asked me for my name, address, etc and then asked what I purchased. At this point I'm concerned that they didn't have documentation (never done business here before), so I inquired about their records. He barked "You are not getting any information unless you tell me what you purchased!" I asked for his name. He continued yelling and added "No, I'm not giving you my name!" I asked if I could come by and he told me "Whatever; you're not picking anything up!" I questioned why he would need this information and he tauntingly let me know it was to provide against fraud. After giving him my full order which he repeated several times (I don't think he had the information there), I again asked for his name. He said, "I am the Owner. I am not telling you my name. You can stop by". Then hung up on me. Of course where I called immediately back the phone was off the hook. At this point, I don't know if its safe or if I can get my order (even with the receipt and ID).Product_Or_Service: Bar stoolOrder_Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXDesired Settlement If he does not provide my furniture on Friday April 4th, I would like the original price of the chair returned to me immediately. Business Response Sales rep that talked to Ms [redacted] asked her several times for her full name and merchandise that was ordered. She continuously refused to give any information. Sales rep informed her that in order for him to check her order he needed that information. Ms [redacted] kept threatening the sales rep about filing a law suit against him. When she finally gave all the information, sales rep acknowledged that her furniture was in and she can come by and pick it up anytime. If Ms [redacted] does not need the chairs then we can refund the discounted price that we gave to her. She did not pay the original price for the chairs. Consumer Response The Furniture Spot did not provide an honest account of what transpired. I spoke with the owner, who has an accent; I did not speak with a sales rep. Secondly, when I called in I provided my contact information ( full name and address) otherwise how would they be able to provide me with an update on my items. I expressed concern with having to describe what I purchased. That's the information I initially did not provide. Lastly, I never threatened to take any action. The decision was made after I was abruptly hung up on. The owner must have me confused with another unhappy customer. I desire to receive my merchandise without any further bullying and or shenanigans. I will stop by again tomorrow, April 10th in the evening to retrieve my items. Final Business Response We would gladly help the customer load up her furniture from our store. Our goal is to keep our customers happy.
