I do not have much to add other than the following:1. My letter summarizes the FACTS2. The person who submitted the letter changed her facts multiple timesFirst, she alleged I charged her for consultation - now - I am not sure she even knows what she is complaining aboutPlease close my file with Revdex.comThis type of writing and behavior is beyond any further commentThank you.Vanesa P***

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:I am not an attorney, therefore, I cannot write in a manner which makes outright lies sound like the truth.  I will, however, write nothing but the truth as I see it as I did in my previous complaint.  My personal beliefs and my faith in God make it impossible for me to lie about these facts.  I do try to honor God in all I do.Ms. P[redacted] did state that the our initial consultation dated 01/20/2014 was free of charge.  She gave me a worksheet outlining the costs of handling my case.  She indicated that I could refer collectors to her and ask questions via email and/or telephone.  She told me to send her any judgements I received.  I did take advantage of her offers and she did not indicate there was a charge for either.  I came away from our meeting thinking she was an honest and caring professional.  She even told me how she felt sorry for people in my situation and tried to help all she could.   Learning I was bilingual, we even had a short conversation in Spanish.I simply did not have the at least $600.00 dollars she wanted to start the case.  Since I did not, after a while I wanted Ms P[redacted] to know I was a serious person and was going to do business with her since I had referred my creditors and written her several times with questions.  At first she ignored my emails but then began to return them.  I visited her office and dropped off a $50.00 check and she is correct in what she alleges I wrote on the check .  It was meant to be a deposit towards work to be done in the future none of which she had started.  The check was not for answering questions or attending to creditors since she had offered to do those services at the initial consultation without any charge.  Again, I wanted her to know I was serious about pursuing my case when I could pay so I dropped off what I could afford and had hoped to continue to drop off funds until the initial amount was paid.  This I now understand was a grave mistake as I was not dealing with the ethical, honest person I thought I was.  I am definitely guilty of naivete.  Subsequently, due to illness and unemployment I was unable to pay anything else.  I thought the money would go towards the case when I could finally afford to pay her.  However, I was pretty much destitute and requested she return my money through her assistant.  I left voice mail which was ignored.  Then I spoke with her assistant several times and was put off with something about Ms Pancic "being in court" and then was told she "needed permission" to return my money and that Ms. P[redacted] only came to the office once a week.  I explained I still wanted Ms. P[redacted] to handle my case when I could afford it but had no money and needed the money I had paid for gas.   On our last conversation, Ms P[redacted] assistant said Ms P[redacted] refused to return my money even though she had not earned it.  I had told Ms. P[redacted] assistant that my house was in foreclosure, I did not have any money, and I needed that money back so that I could put gas in my car to go to a job interview.  It was obvious that Ms. P[redacted] did not care about that which was clear in her last email to me.  Since she indicated she has two children on her website, my thoughts were that I must be taking money out of her children's mouth by requesting my unearned (by her) money back.  That $50.00 she owes me was the only money I owned and because she would not refund it, I could not go to my job interview.  This aggravated my depression and anxiety greatly.  However, I must say I in no way wanted to do damage to Ms. P[redacted] business and to this day I do not hold a grudge.  I merely want to let other individuals know that they will not be treated fairly by her if the situation comes down to money.  I gave her the $50.00 in good faith honestly believing she would deal with me fairly.  I have never believed the stereotypes about attorneys and have worked with some in the past that I found quite honorable.  However, I have thanked Ms. P[redacted] for educating me in the "facts of life" regarding attorneys.I am a Christian and I will turn the other cheek although I have been told I have a potential action because of the lost opportunity for work and the fact that my illness worsened including my chronic physical pain.  If Ms. P[redacted] wants to sue me after stealing my $50.00 she is welcome to.  I am just as destitute as I was when I asked for her to return my money.  I'm not sure what she proposes to gain by suing me but I suppose that is the American way and she is a foreigner and has learned the ways of our litigious society well.  That is very sad.  It would be best if foreigners learned the good in our American ways.I do realize there are sometimes miscommunication between people especially when there is someone who is a go between.  For example, I have no idea what she is referring to when she speaks of a .49 stamp in her letter.  I would like to think that the reason she won't return my money has to do with a mistaken belief I was giving her a gift or that she changed her policies and was indeed charging me for the consultation.  I will not threaten to sue for $50.00.  That is just ridiculous even though I can show I was harmed by her actions.  Again, if she needs the money to feed her children, that must be more important than my obtaining gainful employment to support myself and save my home.  After all, I'm just a single, middle aged woman, and she has a family so I'm sure she feels she is more important.  Seriously, does anyone believe an attorney would charge a a mere $50.00 for services as she claims in her response to my complaint?  No folks, just dumb little me trying to show good faith! My hope is that others will think twice before hiring this person for any work to avoid sustaining any kind of loss.  That is the sole reason for my complaint to the Revdex.com and the Oregon and Washington State Bars.  Apparently, if she needs $50.00 this badly, who knows what would happen if someone gave her more as foolishly as I did.  I would still like my money back as I now would find it impossible to work with someone I know to be dishonest.  However, I am not holding my breath, and again, hope my experience will forewarn anyone who is considering working with Ms P[redacted].  All of this is extremely distasteful to me and hard to believe a professional would not just write a check and refund a client's money they have not earned.  But I suppose that is why she practices where she does and not in a large prosperous firm. Kind regards,[redacted] SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:I responded with the facts as well.  Apparently, Ms. P[redacted] sees the facts as she would like them to be.  I have nothing else to say except that an ethical attorney would refund money (namely my $50.00) she has not earned and that is a FACT.  I have not "changed" my "story" at any time but have merely clarified the events leading up to my complaint.  To add to those facts, I would say that an attorney that has a "non refund" policy for unearned fees should say so in the sheet she writes up with costs or in some kind of disclaimer issued at the consultation. The only thing I can surmise is that Ms. P[redacted] practice must really be hurting to not be able to afford to return unearned money especially when someone clearly needs it.  I wonder what other "clients" would say.Sincerely,[redacted]
