The Occasional Wife

Review: The Occasional Wife rep (Beth) met with me at my home to determine the scope of work. She then emailed me a contract that included the scope of work and a time frame detailing what was to be completed each day. The schedule was 3/29/16 - 4/4/16 and the price for the job was $3880. A 50% deposit was required and paid. The work began on 3/29 but as of 4/8/16 only about 1/8 of the work in the contract has been completed.The workers have been in my house too many days without any progress being made. There is no project manager. Different people come each day and seem to spend their time trying to figure out what has been done the previous day,what needs to be done or redone, and what supplies they will need. They are always confused and instead of calling the person from the previous day they ask me questions all day long. Beth was to be the project manager and had given me a schedule. In reality there is no project manager and no one has ever referred to the schedule they gave me. At my request the company owner,Kay, met with me on Friday 4/8/16 . She told me she will not fulfill the contract and handed me a bill (containing copies of non itemized receipts for materials and her worker time sheets) to be paid immediately. I told her I do not want to cancel the contract and want the work to be completed. She then offered me a way to get some of the work done. She offered me a new contract good only for Monday 4/11/16 for $960 plus materials. She would work for one day only (monday). If her workers need to come back the next day I am to be charged an additional $280 for no more than 4 hours and 2 people. I must not be present when she is working and the work is to be to her satisfaction, not mine. The contract stipulates "we will be there on monday 9am if you pay the bill in full to date and you pay a deposit on the work to be done." "we are very busy and cannot hold Monday for more than 24 hours."Desired Settlement: I want the contract to be completed.

The confusion is a result of not having an accountable project manager and not following the schedule in the contract.

Time and money have been wasted and both parties are frustrated.

I believe the company can honor their contract with me. I would propose they designate one accountable project manager and follow the schedule.
