Here is the real story which compares drastically to the fiction in the complaint
*** contacted me to help me find her lost
dog, who had been missing almost two weeksPer my questions, she confirmed that she had a scent article that belonged to her missing dog, which is required for all searchesI said I was available the next day to do the search, and she agreed to thatLater that night, I asked if she still wanted to do the searchShe said she did not have the money since her employer owed her several hundred dollarsThe next day, she contacted me and said she now had the money, and could I do the search the next dayI said I couldIn a couple of hours, she contacted me again and said that she thought she had seen her dog at the local animal shelter and wanted to check there firstShe cancelled the search for the second timeTwo days later at AM, she contacted me again and said that the dog at the shelter she saw online was not her dog and could I do the search that dayI said my day was already scheduled and I was not availableTwo days later, she contacted me again and asked if I could do the searchI said I was available
*** told me that her dog was allowed to run loose outside her home to "use the bathroom" and then the dog would return on his own and this had been the routine for several yearsShe told me that her dog would be gone regularly for up to an hour at a timeThis particular time, the dog did not return home for over two hours, and that she asked me to help find her lost dogShe did say that her dog was not friendly towards strangers and would regularly bark and growl at people when she walked the dog on the street
I do require that any people who accompany me on the search must be in good physical health, and it was clear from the start that *** was in very poor physical healthShe said that she would be the one to go with me since her husband had cancer and was in poor healthShe admitted to being a heavy smoker and not exercising regularlyShe constantly had to rest and told me to go ahead on the search and that she would catch up with meI had to regularly interrupt the search to go back and find *** who would be sitting somewhere coughing and wheezingShe apologized for keeping me from doing the work she paid me to doTwo hours into the search, she decided to go home and restShe told me to continue on the search without herI reluctantly agreed, and I agreed to text her every minutes to tell her my location and what I was findingShe agreed to come to pick me up at the end of the four hour minimum, which she did happilyShe even offered to bring me a turkey sandwich and a drink, but I turned her down since I don't eat meat
When I got back to their home, I told her about the search after she went homeI explained where we went and showed her the GPS map, which I record for all searchesI explained that it was clear by the track we were following that her dog was still running loose and was not in a home during that searchShe agreed to keep looking for her dog, and she thanked me for my efforts and apologized for slowing me down
While we were talking, her husband came home with a brand new dogShe told me that they had adopted the dog that day from the local animal shelter*** told me that the dog was a gift to help her from her husband to help her get over loosing their dog
I then explained to *** that she still owed me the remaining mileage that was agreed by her to be paid to me after the searchThe mileage charge is standard and for the door-to-door trip from my house to her house and backShe went into the room where her husband sat with the new dog watching TVI heard them mumble between each other and then she came back out to the living room where I was waitingShe told me that he did not have any more moneyShe said that all their money went to the deposit for $at the beginning of the searchShe said that since they had just adopted this dog and paid the deposit that they didn't have any more moneyI agree to go to drive her to a local ATM so they could get more cashShe said they didn't have any more money in the bank at allShe said her husband was on disability and that she didn't have any of her own moneyI reminded her about the money she said she got from her employer over the weekendShe said that money was already spentShe offered to pay me in two weeks when she got paid againI agreed to that dealShe also offered to give me any food from her refrigerator, but I said that was not necessaryI wrote down my address and she said she would pay me in two weeks
After leaving their home, I paid a visit to the local animal shelter, and there is was that I discovered that they had paid almost $for the new dog that day, but she didn't have the money to pay me what she owed meWhen I got home, I saw on *** that she had a $5,reward posted for the return of her stolen dogI texted her and asked her to send me the $that she owed me immediately and not to wait for two weeksShe said that she never intended to pay me the $and she knew that at the time at the end of the search when she promised to payShe insisted that we were never tracking her dog and she continued to believe that her dog was still somewhere in a neighbor's homeI told *** that I was going to file a Small Claims case, and she said, "Go aheadYou aren't getting any more money from me!"
Per her note in the complaint that she contacted another person who performs searches around the worldThat is another delusion since there is no one person who does that type of workI know every person in this business, and I know the type of work they do
