The Tinter Reviews (3)

Initially I was impressed with John Silvestis, the owner of The TinterHe seemed friendly and professionalThe first set of tint he installed on my wife's Mercedes CLA had dust particles under the tint and bubbles under the tint even after the days he said it would take to clear upHe agreed to remove and replace the tint and did soThe second set of tint had the same problems as the firstJohn said he would remove the tint and refund my moneyThe day before my appointment his wife called, and with a very rude and condescending attitude, told me he was not going to remove the tintThey did refund my money, but now I have to pay someone else to fix his mistakesIn the end I was treated very rudely and unprofessionally

I had my windows tinted by these two guys. The same day they did the tint, I had to bring it back because of a tear in the back passenger side window. it was about ¼ inch rip right in the corner. They replaced it without a hassle. After a couple of days, I took a closer look at the whole job. There was tiny air bubbles, way too much dust and lint from the back dashboard all inside the tint. I could clearly see more than 7 lint strands plain as day. Both side windows were not cut well at all, along the straight edge of the doorframe, the cut was crooked and not even hidden under the framing... both doors. I found a tiny rip in the back driver side window and it was not stuck in the corner. The other side back window (which was replaced on day one) still had a piece of excess material attached to it. I went back a week later with my nephew. I pointed out everything and the owner (John) started telling me one excuse after another as to why it looks that way. He told me that I can rub out the lint. I said I want to see him rub one out right now, he made no attempt. I pointed at the crooked cuts on the doors and he said that it looks that way because my car is older and doesn't ride on the track correctly... then proceeded to tug my window backwards in order to hide the bad cut. Then asked me,"how does it look now?" He eventually became aggravated because he knew he had a bad job on his hands. So he disappeared. I stayed there and waited for him to return. Before he did, his partner showed up and I showed him one thing I didn't like and he said they would replace the entire job. I had to make an appointment to come back the next week for that. Already wasting my time and gas. I agreed to that, comeback the next week for the replace. I mentioned that I did not want John touching my car, because of how he yanked on my window to hide a bad cut. The other guy( I don't remember his name) said that if I am still not happy with the job after they replace it, that John will not give my money back. I said, "If the job is not done right, I will be getting my money back." Then he started yelling at me and my nephew, calling us cry- babies. The job was legitimately done awful. He told us to go [redacted] each other and call a lawyer... Then John shows up, and he was no different. These are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. Eventually they called over the Flea Market manager to try to get us to leave. I explained everything to the manager even the [redacted] comment and the resolve was that I let them remove all the tint and only re-do the back window. I was reluctant to let them do any further work at all, but at the same time, my nephew was the one who paid for it and he would have been out 90 dollars. I picked up my car only to notice that they do not have any lighting in their work area. They have a cat bed in the work area... Which by the way, John told me that the lint was cat hair (which it wasn't, it was lint from the fuzzy dash in the back window) But he insists that it was cat hair, and he noticed I had cat hair on my t-shirt from my cat, and tried to place the blame of that cat hair in the lint on me?? (I didn't do the tint though). He was full of nothing but excuses. Also, I smelled [redacted] on his breath as I was handed the receipt.... I have much more to say about these two children, but I'm not going to spend my whole day on it... I recommend doing your own tint before using these guys, it will come out about the same and you won't have the headache. A Small Claims lawsuit has been filed. DO NOT GET YOUR WINDOWS TINTED BY THESE RIP OFF TINTERS.

First off, I went to The Tinter ([redacted]) because I had them tint a vehicle about a year ago and they did a fantastic job. This experience was quite the opposite.

After the first time they did my windows, there were a bunch of bubbles in ALL of the windows and they blamed it on the pollen, etc. OK, I can understand things like this happen, so go ahead and give it another shot. The second round was bubbles and LARGE scratches from their squeegee tool. OK, everyone makes mistakes, go ahead and give it another shot. The third round was all bubbles AGAIN. After the third strike, I finally asked the owner ([redacted]) to do the job himself in order to ensure maximum quality. Still no luck. ALL windows look like they put sand under the tint.

The only positive thing that came from this experience is that they removed the tint and gave me my money back. When I asked if I was the only one that this was happening to, I was told that I was 1 of about 10 customers going through the same predicament. Oh yeah, another gift they sent me home with was knife slash marks on the rubbers around my windows of my BRAND NEW TRUCK!!!

I am self employed so I know how customer relations work. There is no way I would be able to get away with leaving a customer worse off than when they started.

I hope this information helps you decide where to get your windows tinted. Thanks for your time.
