First of all I must thank god I do not have the pleasure of moving into *** *** Avenue & * *** Crescent
We viewed a couple of units in the place and found them to be pretty nice and we thought it would be a good idea to put in an applicationThats the only thing positive I can put in this review regarding Timbercreek
We filled out an application with the property Manager - Dan was his nameHe filled it out on the computer and we signed it after he printed it outWe were given a copy of the application which was double copied which meant that it was faded and anything written in fine print was very hard to readWe never received a copy of the application we had signed, which was very clear and easy to readThey also needed a deposit of $and $for FOB Keys, which we provided on that day
So a few day go by and we inquire to see whats going on? They inform us that the application is almost finished and they will get back to us
We had been looking for other places in the meantime, just in case we were not approvedWe finally are approved and receive an email indicating thisWe change our mind because we find a place that is more ideal to our situation and tell them we are no longer interested and would like our deposit backHERE IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING
The property manager says please forward your mailing address and we will send you a check, it is customary for us to deposit your deposit cheque upon approvalWe wait a couple of days and there is nothing in the mailA week goes by and still nothingApparently someone from there office was suppose to contact us by the name of SarahWe eventually have to get a hold of her to find out that we are: Legally bound to pay the $even though we have no intentions of moving inThen she informs us that it clearly says on the application, mind you we have the blurry double copied versionAfter vigorously squinting through this we find that in fine print there is such a stipulation
So we are out $$is not even refunded for the FOB keys we never receivedWe never signed an actual leaseWe were taken for a ride as far as getting out money back, it took weeks to get the final word that we will not be getting back our depositDan even sent us a text message that we would receive our cheque, this never happened
I am actually very happy that I am not moving into this apartment as the size of a square feet for $a month is a little highMore so I am happy not to deal with this kind of company where they do not care about there customers and are only about doing what they can to make money by any means necessary
Again to all of you dealing with Timbercreek BEWARE OF *** AND LOOPHOLES WHEN SIGNING ANYTHINGAlso read reviews online in regards to this company you will find many and star reviews

Throughout the time I lived with Timbercreek, I experienced quite possibly the worst service by a rental company I've ever received. My first apartment within the first month of living there, I was moved to another building due to the excessive and consistent noise in that building. To which my neighbour informed me, had been going for 2 years with no consequences for anyone around. Upon arrival to their *** location, my apartment began to get infested with both fleas and bed bugs. When I brought it to the building managers attention, I was informed that physical people had brought the fleas in and they were only concerned about particular units vs taking care of the entire building. My dogs began to suffer immensely regardless of the recourses I was taking. I have every single receipt, email and picture of me begging them for more help as I had done my part as a tenant. They sprayed my apartment ONE time in June and told me here was nothing to do until July. After multiple emails of me showing my dogs beginning to literally shiver in pain, the only offer I was given was to leave my lease July 31 for my hardships. They have kept my last months rent, no one bothered to answer me about how to obtain that or any of my mail after leaving and I have the email to prove that as well. I am disgusted and broke from all the treatments on my apartment and grooming I've had to do with no help from them. At the time I was moving out, I spoke with two elderly women on my floor who were being forced to go stay elsewhere after 35 years due to the bed bugs infesting their apartments. How is this an okay thing ? How are we not considering this a human rights issue ? Everyone should be entitled to feeling as though their home is a safe place to be. A place that is not infested with no end in sight as to when that may no longer be a problem. The fact that people who work for this specific building on *** avenue can go home every night knowing they are absolutely letting people and animals suffer, makes me sick to my stomach that I ever allowed myself to live there or listened to the opinions of employees who would rather watch humans and animals suffer.

Desired Outcome

I want my last months rent back as I did not ask to leave Timbercreek. I asked for a transfer within the company as that is possible to transfer leases amongst another Timbercreek building. I was told there no vacancy anywhere and I could leave on the 31st

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Hello
I appreciate your response to this matter and I am accepting of discussing these issues with management. While I'm aware that pest issues can get out of control regardless of treatment, there was no information present to inform other tenants of potential bugs, which will always cause your buildings to be reinfested when no one is aware that there is a potential infestation in their building. People pay rent and utilities in the hopes that the company they are choosing to rent from would treat their tenants the same way they would enjoy being treated. I'm sure if you lived somewhere that was infested with bed bugs and you had no idea that that was also one of the bugs crawling across your bed at night , you'd be still itching every night in your new environment too. *** I spend every night before I go to bed searching my bed before I go to sleep. My dogs are finally almost fully recovered in less than 3 weeks of being away from that. That should speak volumes to you on how intense the infestation was, considering I had to purchase an infestation topical to be given once a week in order to just stop them from being attacked so horribly.

To further discuss this issue, I'm not willing to bend on whether or not you will be giving me last months rent. I was spending just 25 dollars a week on an a treatment that stopped my dogs from becoming walking flea larvae. I spent 100 dollars a week on laundry because I had to wash bedding every SINGLE night. I had to spend 100 dollars a week on personal flea household treatments because the empty promise of *** coming back to spray in 2 weeks turned into a month. This isn't a matter of negotiation, this is a matter of giving me what is deserved for the *** and now lifelong dermatitis you cause my year and half old dog to endure. This is what is deserved for the *** I continue to go through anytime one of them simply itches or I feel even something touch me in bed, only to realize it's my sheet.

Should you not feel that I deserve at least that basic compensation, I will be perusing this further and your management team contacting me is not necessary.

Feel free to reflect on my response as needed and contact me when you can develop an appropriate plan of action.

Thank you

After moving into one of their properties I overheard many issues from the on site office across the hall. *** They hire contractors who don't know proper building codes and they remodelled in the worst way possible. The pictures online look nice but once you move in and you can listen you each bowel movement of both your neighbours, you discover your smoke detector is taped to the ceiling and not actually functioning, your plumbing leaks into the crawl space below causing mold that you get the pleasure of breathing in everyday, and the company tells you "utilities are included in the rent price" but you discover that they turned off the meters and they aren't getting billed for it but technically you're still paying for it.

Hmmmmm, what did I miss....
-Leaking roof into hallways and suites causing mold
-takes 15-20 minutes of running water before it gets warm enough for a bath
- dishwasher was not hooked up when I moved in
-other people park in my parking spot and plug in their car yet the power runs to my suite (the only utility not included in rent)
-yard looks horrible, trees and grass are not maintained
-walls are paper thin in a new building (which I know is not to code as I deal with this in my career)
***
***
-deck was promised to be fixed months ago; I refuse to step on it as it's rotten and slanted and I'm on a third floor
-painters touched up hallways with the wrong color of paint so the walls have had polka dots (and my neighbours have up complaining as it's been like this for 3 years)
I'm sure there's more.
