Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response from the Business [redacted] is a lie. [redacted] never called the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff has made numberous unreturned calls and emails to both the Business [redacted] and employee [redacted]. The Plaintiff also called Home Advisor and complained about the  missing tile and unanswered calls (documentation can be provided). It was not until after a number of weeks that the Business [redacted] came up with the excuse that the tile was broken and [redacted] discarded the tile. In short $2.00 is not restitution. I want then tile replaced or the cost of repair or a new floor. [redacted] had no right to discard my property.

Review: [redacted] an employee of Titanium Grout Line business [redacted] came to the Plaintiff's home and removed a ceramic tile from Plaintiff's home floor. He promising to use it to find a replica tile and return the undamaged tile. Plaintiff has made repeated pleas for the return of his tile over a span of 6 weeks. The Business [redacted] and Defendant continues to ignored all requests of returning the tile made by Plaintiff over the 6 week period. After Home Advisor contacted them, they now claim that they threw the tile out. As a result, because the tile is unique and cannot be replaced, a new floor is required at an estimated cost of $5,000. The Defendant has made no offer of restitution or apology.Desired Settlement: (1) Just return the Plaintiff's tile;(2) Effect repair of the floor;(3) Pay the cost of a new floor at an estimated $5,000.

Response:

[redacted], an employee of Titanium Grout Lines, did go to the Plaintiff’s home to review the Plaintiff’s tile floor. The Plaintiff’s floor had numerous damaged tiles, which is why he had contacted Titanium Grout Lines. The Plaintiff also had twenty backup, undamaged, tiles along with some damaged tiles in his garage. However, the number of damaged tiles on the Plaintiff’s floor outnumbers his number of replacements. Therefore it would be necessary to look for a replica tile to replace the floor. The Plaintiff offered [redacted] one of the extra damaged tiles he had in his garage so that [redacted] could look for a replica. The Plaintiff claims that [redacted] removed an undamaged tile from the Plaintiff’s floor. However, [redacted] never removed any tiles from the Plaintiff’s floor. Titanium Grout Lines must be hired before an employee is able to remove a tile from a floor. In this case Titanium Grout Lines was never hired, which is why no tiles were removed. It is also quite impossible to remove a tile from a floor without it being completely undamaged.

[redacted] took the offered, damaged, tile to search for a replica. The tile on the Plaintiff’s floor is old and discontinued, therefore no replicas could be found. Since the tile was damaged, and from the Plaintiff’s garage, [redacted] saw no use for the tile and threw it out. The Plaintiff called [redacted] apologized and told him the situation. The Plaintiff then called [redacted] of Titanium Grout Lines, and [redacted] also conveyed what [redacted] had said. The Plaintiff had agreed that the tile was a broken tile he had given to [redacted]. The Plaintiff then contacted [redacted], who in turn contacted [redacted] then called the Plaintiff to apologize and discuss the matter of the broken tile once more. The Plaintiff then began to shout and hung up on [redacted].

[redacted] never took any tile off the Plaintiff’s floor. The tile that was given to [redacted] was broken and was not being used. The cost of the broken tile is around $2.00; [redacted] will offer the $2.00 as restitution. The floor was in the same condition when [redacted] left as when he entered the Plaintiff’s home.

Response:

As discussed in the body of my complaint. Employee [redacted] from Titanium Grout Lines came to the Plaintiff's home through the recommendation of Home Advisor. The Plaintiff asked [redacted] if he could replace cracked ceramic tiles in the Plaintiff's Sun Room. [redacted] acknowledged that he could, however, he needed a sample to bring with him to a tile supplier in order to match the tile. He was allowed to take a loose tile from the corner of the room. He promised to return with the tile and give the Plaintiff a price on the tile repair job. [redacted] never called back or returned any of the plaintiff's calls in his plea that the tile be returned.

After a couple of weeks of calls to [redacted], the Plaintiff began to call Home Advisor and the Business [redacted] of Titanium Grout Lines asking that the tile be returned (copies of emails attached). I also attached before and after photos of my Sun Room. It is a beautiful room which now shows an obvious hole in the floor marring to look of the room. The loose tile was a cut tile but undamaged. What Titanium Gout Lines is claiming defies common sense or logic. No one would agree to a having a hole in their floor. Unfortunately the was no formal contract written up.

The tile should be returned to the Plaintiff or the Plaintiff should be compensated for repair. Titanium Grout Lines is in the tile repair business.
