TLC Electrical Reviews (9)

Dear Revdex.com Representative, I attempted to file this response through your link It would not let me write anything I kept getting something that said that no response was needed at this time I have been attempting this for a week Therefore, I am writing this email I contracted with TLC Electric to do work at [redacted] on behalf of the Landlord TLC represented the following items that I still question: Their choice to use white bulbs rather than matching the yellow bulbs was a better match This makes no sense We were specific about color matching That their light fixtures for the parking lot were of a higher quality than the same model number found through retailers for a fraction of the cost The representative stated that theirs was a different version and the quality was better that the same model number by the same manufacturer That the lighting he recommended would light the entire parking lot, including a specifically dark area He assured me that he is an expert in lighting and that it would be lit The area remains dark We asked for the lighting in the front to be evenly distributed starting in the east corner to insure lighting in the entire front and to enhance the front of the east side [redacted] placed them evenly, starting feet away from the east corner; and when asked to correct it told me that it was evenly distributed, as requested When we filed our complaint and asked for permits, which were not filed prior to the installation, I received an intimidating call stating that if they file a permit, we will be inspected and all sorts of electrical problems would come out He stated that we had all types of violations for which we could have major problems He said if we pulled our complaint, he would not file for the permits and we would be ok Of course, we had no problems with the inspection, as all work done on our building, previously, was done properly and inspected Thank you!

In response to customer's remaining questions: TLC Electrical installed one new lightbulb in an existing fixture Due to the age of all other bulbs in existing like fixtures the output color did not matchThis was remedied during a follow up warranty service call when the technician removed the new bulb along with an existing bulb and then took them to the manufacture to color match Any remaining color variation will only be remedied by replacing all the bulbs in these fixtures The Eaton XTOR2A (SKU 25402000) 20W 120/Bronze fixtures provided and installed by TLC Electrical are only available from an electrical supply house and cannot be purchased at any box retail store LED wall pack fixtures available at a box retail store do not compare to the quality of the fixtures installed by TLC The customer is aware that lighting this area was not included in the original Scope of Work and has been provided an estimate to install this additional lighting The customer has stated that even though this area was not included he/she felt that they had spent enough money on the first project to receive this work for free When TLC would not agree to perform this additional work at no cost the customer threatened to post poor reviews and file a Revdex.com complaint The TLC technician installed these three fixtures in the locations chosen and approved in advance by the owner’s on-site authorized representative This customer was contacted and informed of what they might expect when TLC pulls the requested permit: aschematic drawings may be required by the City; bany pre-existing code violations may be red tagged and repairs may be required We value each of our customers and strive for excellence in professionalism, quality, and customer service every day When a customer has an issue we want to know about it so that we may have the opportunity to resolve it At no time did any staff member threaten, intimidate, or request this customer “pull” their Revdex.com complaint Even though this was a large project and product availability in our area was limited TLC Electrical was able to provide same day service and immediately begin and complete this project in three consecutive working days The customer expressed satisfaction with the professionalism, speed, and quality of this project until we refused to meet their demands for additional work at no cost The quality of work performed and the fixtures installed can be found in the Commercial Electrical Services Gallery on our websiteBut unfortunately at this juncture TLC Electrical and this customer are going to have to agree to disagree on the merits of their complaint

Hello Mr. [redacted],Thank you for your feedback.  Your concerns are certainly very important to us.Our records indicate:On 8-24-16 we made electrical repairs and scheduled to return to install a new timer/freeze guard for your pool.We returned approximately two weeks later on 9-9-16 and installed...

your new timer/freeze guard unit.  During installation the electrician removed the cover of your pool heater to check the existing low voltage wire that he would use to connect to the new timer/freeze guard and did not rewire the heater unit to from 220 volts to 110 volts.  Our office was contacted on 9-30-16 concerning your pool heater not functioning.  We ordered a transformer for the heater unit.  On 10-6-16 we returned with the transformer and to troubleshoot the pool heater.  We came to the conclusion: Problem is caused by either an outside surge or a short (dead short).  At that time you were referred to Pentair’s Warranty Department.  Pentair’s Warranty Department did not receive the information they requested in order to repair/replace your pool heater.TLC’s Service Manager spoke to you after receiving a copy of the invoice from the repair service that repaired the pool heater.  The invoice indicated the findings were the same as TLC’s, the heater unit stopped working due to an outside power surge or a dead short.   After this last conversation we believed this matter to be settled.  However, we are more than happy to meet you in the middle and cover half of your repair costs. [redacted] TLC Electrical

In response to customer's remaining questions: 1.      TLC Electrical installed one new lightbulb in an existing fixture.  Due to the age of all other bulbs in existing like fixtures the output color did not match. This was remedied during a follow up warranty service call when the technician removed the new bulb along with an existing bulb and then took them to the manufacture to color match.  Any remaining color variation will only be remedied by replacing all the bulbs in these fixtures. 2.      The Eaton XTOR2A (SKU 25402000) 20W 120/277 Bronze fixtures provided and installed by TLC Electrical are only available from an electrical supply house and cannot be purchased at any box retail store.  LED wall pack fixtures available at a box retail store do not compare to the quality of the fixtures installed by TLC.   3.      The customer is aware that lighting this area was not included in the original Scope of Work and has been provided an estimate to install this additional lighting.   The customer has stated that even though this area was not included he/she felt that they had spent enough money on the first project to receive this work for free.  When TLC would not agree to perform this additional work at no cost the customer threatened to post poor reviews and file a Revdex.com complaint.   4.      The TLC technician installed these three fixtures in the locations chosen and approved in advance by the owner’s on-site authorized representative.   5.      This customer was contacted and informed of what they might expect when TLC pulls the requested permit: a. schematic drawings may be required by the City; b. any pre-existing code violations may be red tagged and repairs may be required.  We value each of our customers and strive for excellence in professionalism, quality, and customer service every day.  When a customer has an issue we want to know about it so that we may have the opportunity to resolve it.  At no time did any staff member threaten, intimidate, or request this customer “pull” their Revdex.com complaint.  Even though this was a large project and product availability in our area was limited TLC Electrical was able to provide same day service and immediately begin and complete this project in three consecutive working days.   The customer expressed satisfaction with the professionalism, speed, and quality of this project until we refused to meet their demands for additional work at no cost.  The quality of work performed and the fixtures installed can be found in the Commercial Electrical Services Gallery on our website. But unfortunately at this juncture TLC Electrical and this customer are going to have to agree to disagree on the merits of their complaint.

Dear Revdex.com Representative,   I attempted to file this response through your link.  It would not let me write anything.  I kept getting something that said that no response was needed at this time.  I have been attempting this for a week.  Therefore, I am writing this email.     I contracted with TLC Electric to do work at [redacted] on behalf of the Landlord.  TLC represented the following items that I still question:   1.  Their choice to use white bulbs rather than matching the yellow bulbs was a better match.  This makes no sense.  We were specific about color matching.   2.  That their light fixtures for the parking lot were of a higher quality than the same model number found through retailers for a fraction of the cost.  The representative stated that theirs was a different version and the quality was better that the same model number by the same manufacturer.     3.  That the lighting he recommended would light the entire parking lot, including a specifically dark area.  He assured me that he is an expert in lighting and that it would be lit.  The area remains dark.   4.  We asked for the lighting in the front to be evenly distributed starting in the east corner to insure lighting in the entire front and to enhance the front of the east side.  [redacted] placed them evenly, starting 18 feet away from the east corner; and when asked to correct it told me that it was evenly distributed, as requested.   5.  When we filed our complaint and asked for permits, which were not filed prior to the installation, I received an intimidating call stating that if they file a permit, we will be inspected and all sorts of electrical problems would come out.  He stated that we had all types of violations for which we could have major problems.  He said if we pulled our complaint, he would not file for the permits and we would be ok.  Of course, we had no problems with the inspection, as all work done on our building, previously, was done properly and inspected.   Thank you!

TLC Electrical was originally contacted on June 12, 2017 by Mr. [redacted]’s local authorized representative, [redacted], to install an owner furnished light fixture and 10 light bulbs at [redacted].  She met with our technician on site and requested additional work.  [redacted]...

chose and directed the placement of each fixture negating the need for any “diagram”. After explaining what was needed she left the site and all communication regarding pricing, product, and authorization to proceed with the work was communicated in three separate three-way conversations between the TLC technician, [redacted], and Mr. [redacted].  For this reason the technician wrote “verbal” on the invoice.  In addition, [redacted] approved of the fixtures via text message after receiving a picture of them from our technician.  Screen shots of this approval can be provided if necessary.     Please find attached the invoice for work performed along with corresponding pictures showing completed work and product used.  Again, product used was approved by Mr. [redacted]’s authorized representative. The product cut sheets show that the fixtures were of good quality and not by any means “cheap”.  It was more than “a little work” to complete this project; there were also total of 26 licensed Journeyman hours put into this project.     Mr. [redacted] and [redacted] inspected the property the evening of June 14, 2017 and in a recorded telephone call (attached) on June 15, 2017 during a three-way conversation both Mr. [redacted] and his authorized representative, [redacted] spoke with our office and indicated satisfaction and acceptance of all work performed and Mr. [redacted] gave his credit card number (scrubbed) to be charged.  The only exceptions being: 1 – Adjusting the angle of the three lights on top of the building so that they do  not shine into the street, 2 – One of the light bulbs we provided and installed  was brighter that the existing bulbs, 3 – Mr. [redacted] requested a price on an additional light at the front of the building.   On June 20, 2017 we returned to adjust the lights as requested and replaced the light bulb to match the exiting as close as possible.  This warranty invoice is attached.  At the time of this warranty service call [redacted] stated that they felt like they had spent enough money and we should install the additional requested fixture for free.  Our technician explained that it does not work like that and left her with the attached estimate for this additional work.    A permit was issued by the City of Frisco and the Green Tag for approval of the work performed is attached.   Mr. [redacted]’s complaint has no merit and his efforts to essentially extort free work from TLC Electrical with threats to file a Revdex.com complaint and stop payment on his credit card charge will not result in free work or a refund from TLC Electrical.
