Tom's Auto Service Reviews (2)

I serviced a 2009 Honda CRV on Feb. 7, 2014.  The problem with this car was no windshield washer fluid was reaching the windshiled or rear window.  In order to get to the root cause of the trouble the front bumper of this car had to be removed it is not a simple case of lifting a cap...

and peering in.  Once the front bumper was removed I discovered the fluid canister was totally frozen due to the installation of sub standard fluid to withstand the extreme cold climate.  This customer should be thankful the canister and both pumps did not suffer damage due to sub standard fluid being installed.  After thawing out the canister and checking both pumps the frozen lines also had to be cleaned of ice and the front bumper installed.  Thankfully no new parts were needed which can only be obtained from a Honda dealer.  Similar service at any dealership could result in charges upwards of $300.00 plus parts be advised I had time and effort into finding the problem.  The issue of [redacted] driving her car to pick her up was a simple matter of comfort for this customer.  No joyriding was done.  In over 30 years of being in business I have never been accused of that.  I have built my business by doing quality work for a very fair price.  It is my feeling in this matter tht this customer's anger should be directed at the person or persons who installed sub standard fluid.

Review: Last August, 2013, I hired [redacted] to do my patio over and paid him $7300.00 cash for the work. When the job was 3/4 finished, the patio done with pavers and new concrete he wanted to be paid the rest of the money as I was going on vacation. I told him I would hold back $300 til I saw concrete dried and uncovered because it started to drizzle. He got very adament with me so I paid him all the money. When I came back a week later the concrete was all stained and I called him to come look at it. He came several weeks later and said it wasn't dry. Also, he did not replace a piece of concrete at end of steps.I have called him several times. He came in November right after the storm and said he would come back in Spring. He came here in Spring and promised me he would take care of it. I have called him 3 times since. He never showed up or returned my calls. I have given him every opportunity to come back on my property and finish the job properly. $7300.00 was a lot of money for us to pay for work that was not done right. The paver patio was ok.It's the cement work that was very shabby. I could have left what I had..Yours truly,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want him to reimburse me for the cost of the concrete work since he is not willing to correct it.
