Review: I entrusted my 2000 [redacted] to the people at Top Tech West. I was fully aware the parts would be expensive. However, I was completely unprepared to be taken advantage of. I was overcharged not only for labor but double charged for services. They kept my Rover for almost a month. They left bolts off a drive rod causing my husband to pull out of traffic and repair it himself. The power steering pump they replaced broke after 400 miles. I have contacted them almost daily via phone and email. I have yet to hear back or receive any remuneration for their sub par work. I don't mind paying a bit more for excellent service and workmanship. However, Top Tech Auto charges too much and does not back up their exorbitant pricing with good customer service or quality work. They took advantage of a woman who knew nothing about car repair. They are dishonest and not to be trusted. After the Rover broke down in Minnesota, the repair shop there looked over the invoice of work done by Top Tech. He confirmed the amounts charged were abnormally high, that I had been charged double for things and that I had, essentially, been taking advantage of.Eventually, I did receive a refund (from Napa) for the power steering pump. This had nothing to do with Top Tech. I followed up on the refund myself.Desired Settlement: I would like another opinion on the work performed and prices charged by Top Tech. If a refund in labor or parts costs is not warranted, then I would like this business to be investigated. I have heard from several other people who've had similar negative experiences.

Review: Top Tech Auto is a customer of [redacted]. A rotation motor was sold to Top Tech Auto on February 20, 2013, the grand total of the invoice is $718.13. After months of trying to call and determine payment status of this invoice, the persons that answer the phone (at both locations) are extremely rude and hang up when they realize we are attempting to collect a debt. We have mailed monthly statements as well as collection letters with no resolution.Desired Settlement: We would like to have this bill paid in full for the product/services provided.

Review: Top Tech performed a fuel filter replacement, oil change and other repairs on my son's Jeep in March of 2016. We had less than satisfactory service but received a 'student discount' in the end and was told by the owner that he would happily look at the car in the future should we need any issues. This left us feeling somewhat better. In February of 2016 the car refused to start and was sputtering when it did start. We had the Jeep towed to Top Tech. After 4 days of sitting at the establishment my son was told it was the fuel filter. Top Tech performed a removal, replacement of the fuel filter and conducted similar service from a year ago.

My son did not look at the previous repair and only realized the duplication upon my looking at the repair records. I quickly called the owner at Top Tech and was told to fax the receipt as they changed systems.

I am not aware of any customer service industry not keeping their customers records.

The part replaced should be under mfg warranty. I was told that we should have brought this to their attention. Again, not really the customers place. Per the owner they would initiate the claim process with the fuel pump mfg.

The car was picked up on 2/9. It is now over a week due and I have received no response. When calling the mail box is often full or directs to a 701 number with out identifying who this number belongs to (it does not reference the owner or business). I have paid over $1900 to this business in less than a full years time. I have paid my bills promptly with no issue.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund for the fuel pump service (including the charges for removal, repair, assy, filter and fuel). I do not believe that I should pay full labor on this service as it was done less than a year ago. A fully functioning, manufacture warranty part should not fail but most of all I should not have to chase down the refund that is rightly due to me.

Response:

hi this is [redacted] with toptech,

this is a weird one, the customer came in with his complaints to the vehicle we diagnosed the issues we gave the customer a quote for the repairs & after the weekend the customer authorized the repairs & the amount required for the repairs. we performed the repairs, the customer came in and had his mom pay for the repairs with a credit card and he was on his way.

the customers mother then called later to question the repairs made and that the same repair was made a year prior---we were unaware of this issue, our system crashed and if you look at the tickets she had the original ticket number is 60,000 something and her recent one is below 400. we had to restart a new data base, the customers failure to say hey,,we already had this done at the beginning has caused a major issue. our normal procedure for warranty repairs would require the technician to retain the parts for warranty coverage for us to get a proper credit for the repairs. When the customers mother and I talked I expressed that we could still get the supplier to cover the fuel pump even though we didn't go through the proper channel in the warranty process. But unfortunately the fuel pump was removed from the shop and put into the trash Monday due to it not being tagged for warranty & the trash is dumped on Tuesdays. Auuugghhhhh,,,so we cannot be refunded for the part. Its a unfortunate & this doesn't happen like this ever, this is a one off issue. We did give the customer his student discount for the repairs as well. I am not against making a refund to the customer but I feel this is not our fault, but with that said I would feel comfortable with an adjustment to the labor to help the customer in this. Again we would never do this on purpose, let us know what we can do & what you feel is fair. thanks [redacted].
