My [redacted] certificate was disregarded by Trent's sales team. Upon discovering non-working heat vents, Trent insists I pay for the pre-existing conditionOn 02-06-2016 I purchased a 2012 dodge avenger from [redacted] at Trent. During this process I presented the [redacted] certificate to him which had the exact amount on it that I was supposed to pay. He insisted that $10,700.00 was the lowest I would be able to pay for the vehicle. The certificate was for $10,084. Instead he enrolled me in nitro-fill to make up for it. Then, less than a week later, I'm realizing that the heating vents are only pushing out warm air on the 2 driver side vents. My wife is freezing cold in the passenger seat on our way to the movies. I never agreed to buy a car with a non-working heater and I never signed anything to that effect as evidenced by the lack of the used car window sticker making me aware of any defects. My salesman claims he could not have known of this although he was riding shotgun during our test drive on that cold day when the heater was definitely running. I could not tell at the time because the 2 vents on the driver side were working. My car has now been in their service department, or at whatever Dodge place they sent it to, and they were telling me that the repair would not be covered because I did not purchase the extended warranty. I told [redacted] that that would not work, and Trent can either give me a full refund or pay the total cost to replace the heater core. He said his manager, [redacted], would call me. [redacted] did not call me. Instead I got a call from [redacted] in the service department telling me that they need the loaner car back and that [redacted] was still only willing to pay half of the repair bill they estimate at $1000.00. So they expect me to pay $500 on a pre-existing problem with a car they just sold me this month. I also just checked online for repair estimates in New Bern. It averages around $575.00. So where did that $1000.00 estimate come from? Trent needs to back up their sales or issue a full refund so I can take my business elsewhere.Desired SettlementRefund the total amount paid for the vehicle.Business Response The estimate we gave the customer was the quote that was given to us from a [redacted] franchise. If he fills he can get it done cheaper some other place we will still honor paying half. Mr. [redacted] bought this car as is and was offered a warranty and declined. We at Trent try to take care of all our customers.

False advertising. Car was advertised as used with no accident history. I paid fair market value for just that. It is obvious it was in an accident. We paid for a [redacted] in early late 2013-early 2014. The vehicle, at the time, seemed to have minor cosmetic paint peeling issues on the front bumper. The sales rep said it was just because it was an older car. It didn't take too long after purchasing the car for us to notice that the hood and the rest of the vehicle was 2 different shades of red. Now about a year and a half later we can hear that front bumper flapping around in the wind every time we drive down the interstate. Also, the paint has peeled much more from it and only it. The rest of the car's paint is not peeling at all. This leads me to believe that this is a cheap after-market bumper and these are not original parts whatsoever. I called a couple of times about 2 weeks ago and was told that [redacted] would call me back. He has not done so. I have been busy since then. I also feel like they are taking advantage of the fact that I live a good drive away from their business and don't think I'll show up on their doorstep. I firmly believe that if any trained professional, which I am not, actually inspected this vehicle there is no way they would pass it as a vehicle without any accident simply because the [redacted] says so unless they were trying to minimize their own losses and hope that the customer never notices. I am willing to overlook the fact that I was simply lied to and taken advantage of if they replace the bumper with a better quality(metal or fiberglass) one and repaint the vehicle to look as it should. This is my only offer before I start consulting an attorney. After all, I paid around $10,000 with a loan form [redacted] for a used [redacted] without a history of accident. I also paid for an extended warranty through them. I don't intend on using that in this case since this is something that could've and should've been prevented.Desired SettlementReplace the cheap bumper with a quality one and repaint the car to look as it should with a quality paint job.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] General SaleContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]We have invited the customer to come in to the dealership and let us look at the car to see what steps can be taken to assit him. Realizing that the car is 8 years old and was purchased a year and a half ago, I can not make a determination without seeing it. We have spoken and scheduled an appointment for today.
