Triad Basement Water Proofing Inc Reviews (1)

Review: Triad was first hired to do work on my basement several years ago - at least twice a year since the initial work, I have had to contact Triad (through several calls and emails until finally they get back to me) for a follow-up concern. My basement has flooded several times over the years, SINCE I payed thousands of dollars to have them waterproof my basement. So, although my relationship with TRIAD has been rocky all along, we entered into a lifetime contract when they were initially hired to do the work, so each time I called them, they have come out, and replaced the failing sump pump item. It has been less than a year since I last had to contact them, and the system is failing again. THIS time, I called them out to fix the problem, and they said the repairs would cost me about $800. This is in violation of the lifetime warranty, and also in bad faith, since they KNOW how many problems their equipment has caused me over the years. I wrote them an email follow-up to the visit a week ago, citing the lifetime contract, and asking that they either fix the most recent issue (for free, per the terms of our contract), or, reimburse me for the initial work to terminate the contract. In true Triad form, no one has even bothered to respond to my email, or call me in response.Desired Settlement: that Triad honor to the lifetime contract and continue to make repairs as needed, or, if they no longer wish to be involved in my basement waterproofing needs, they can reimburse the money I paid for the system, and I can then find a company to do the work who is truly able to meet the waterproofing needs of my home.

Triad has repeatedly responded to **. [redacted]'s requests and has replaced the main and backup pump three times over the life of the contract signed in 2008. These were given to **. [redacted] at no charge for the pumps or labor. Triads cost is $860.00 for each pump which does not including labor. These pumps typically have the life span of approximately 10-15 years. The reason three pumps were replaced was due to the customer's failure to keep the stairwell free of tree debris. The stairwell drain (located outside of the home at the bottom of the stairs) is connected to the sump pump container. Rotting leaves and small debris can enter the stairwell drain if it is not maintained and cleaned out. The debris clogs the impeller on the pump which burns out the pump motor. Each time we have replaced the pump for this reason. Each time we have told the customer to maintain the stairwell so this problem doesn't happen again. Each time they have neglected to clean or maintain the stairwell and the same problem happens again. The back yard of the home has not been maintained. There are overgrown trees which dump leaves and broken branches into the stairwell. Due to neglect, the back yard has no grass. The yard is pitched in the direction of the stairwell dumping mud down the stairwell into the drain. Sump pumps are designed to pump water not yard debris and mud (which is shown in the attached picture). We have thousands of customers who get leaves and yard debris in there basement stairwell who once a month sweep them up, including myself at my own home. The last time I was at the house in September, I explained to the customer again what the problem was, and in good faith offered to replace the pump, below our cost ($800.00). I also offered to place sand bags at the top of the steps to try and stop the mud from coming down the steps. **. [redacted] said she would consider this option and get back to us. We never heard from **. [redacted] again until this complaint was brought to us by the Revdex.com on November 13. Triad was contracted to stop hydrostatic water pressure through the base of the wall and stairwell. We are not responsible for maintaining of the outside of the customers neglected home. Please see the pictures of the stairwell and backyard attached to this email. This is what the stairwell looked like when I arrived at the home. Keep in mind, leaves started falling of the trees three weeks ago. The pictures I sent you were taken at the beginning of September, so the leaves you are looking at in these pictures, were never cleaned out from last year.
