Troy Scott Plumbing & Heating

Review: We hired Troy Scott Plumbing, Heating and Cooling to perform work on our sewage line at our home. A contract was signed based on an $80/hr labor rate and the rest determined based on the amount of material needed. A $1600 deposit was given to the contractor with the balance due upon completion of the job. This transaction occured on 7/*/2013. The job began on the 8th of August and on that day, the contractor asked for additional funds to cover labor and material eventhough that is not what the terms of the contract was. Reluctantly, $500 was given to that contractor on that day. Upon completion of the job, the contractor gave us an invoice charging us $85/hr/person/day. We told the contractor that this is absurd because that is not what we agreed to. He was shown the contract with his handwriting and he acknowledged the fact that he did write that rate. We agreed to give him an additional $500 and told him to go back and rework his numbers based on the rate he gave us and we agreed to. Based on the contractor's invoice he claims we still owe him $2700. As of yesterday, we have received a number of phone calls from someone who is claiming to be an attorney with SRG and Associates and they are now threatning to put a lien on our home. The "Attorney's" name is [redacted] and his number is [redacted] and his email is [redacted]. When I googled the "lawyers" company, no law firm came up and I am lead to believe this is being put together by the contractor and whoever works for him and now my family and I are feeling harrassed. If this persists, my family and I will be forced to bring a lawsuit against this contractor which we do not want to do being we have had a good working relationship in the past.Desired Settlement: The only outcome we will like if for him to be honest and just stick to what his contract that he wrote up stated instead of trying to cheat us. If we owe any additional money, we will like him to adjust it based on the labor rate he quoted. If the harrassment persists, we will be forced to take this matter to court.
