Tru 2 Towing and Recovering Reviews (5)

Review: An employee of Tru 2 Towing damaged the alignment ($70) and the transmission panel ($787.69) of my 2006 VW Jetta while towing it to the VW dealership in September of 2015. It is now December 2015 and Tru 2 Towing has still not repaid me for the damages. I have contacted them repeatedly and have only been met with hoops to jump through and lies about their willingness to resolve this issue. I have records from the VW dealership documenting the damage done and can provide them as proof when necessary. They have been extremely unhelpful and uncooperative with this issue and only desire to be repaid for what they owe me.Desired Settlement: I want Tru 2 Towing to pay my for the damage they caused to my vehicle.

Review: On February 12, 2014 I was involved in a car accident which left moderate and fairly isolated damage on the passenger front side of my vehicle. Through my State Farm Road Side Assistance coverage my vehicle was towed by the company Tru 2 Towing and Recovery. I don't have full coverage and at 12am it was difficult to decide where I wanted my vehicle to be repaired; however the tow driver mentioned that his company also repaired vehicles and referred me to Auto Shop Manager [redacted]. I called [redacted] the next morning to quote how much it would cost to make the repairs to the vehicle, and the approximate time it would take to have the vehicle fixed. I was told 1,700 dollars and that it would take 4 days to fix. Even though the completion date was written on paper I knew that was unlikely for damage even as isolated as it was to be completed in 4 days. So when my aunt brought me to make the initial payment a few days later, I inspected my vehicle and again asked how long it would take to repair the vehicle and the answer was changed to 1 week. This seemed more reasonable and I accepted for repairs to begin.A week later I called to see if my vehicles was ready, it was not. And all the set forth completion dates were not met, days turned into weeks. [redacted] promised me a $75 discount and a tire for the inconvenience seeing that it was costing me a considerable amount of money to get from place to place without my own vehicle. On the actual date my vehicle was to be completed I discovered that the shops mechanics kept ordered the wrong parts or either the distributor kept sending the wrong parts. Sitting in the shop for 4 and a half hours allowed me to notice the disorganization of the enterprise. Personal issues being exposed, and the run around tactics that were used on me being used on this companies other victims. At the end of everything, my vehicle wasn't repaired to pre-accident conditions and I never received my tire. I have never had such an unprofessional experience. Never again.Desired Settlement: A partial refund, the labor cost on the bill was 1000. But for simple repairs and having the vehicle for 3 weeks did not justify this price at all. I would not like to be refunded the full amount just the cost of front wheel brakes and the cost of an alignment since this was not properly done nor the brakes replaced. This amount is approximately 200 dollars.

Sincerely,

Gave us an estimated arrival time of an hr and a half, never called to say they were on the way at the time of arrival I called to see where they were and they said they weren't coming the truck broke down. They never did call to say they weren't coming I had to call them

This was such an awful experience. My car broke down on a busy street so I called Allstate to see about getting a tow for my car. They sent my request in and it was accepted at 2:38pm. Tru 2 towing gave me an ETA of 4:03 pm, so I called after I got the quote and asked if it would really take that long. The woman on the phone said, " no that's just a estimated time it shouldn't take that long at all." So I waited and waited around 4:10pm Allstate called me to see if my service had been completed, and I said no. Allstate called the company and I was told they would be there in 20 minutes. So I waited some more, and around 4:35 I got another call from Allstate asking if my service had been completed, and again I had to say NO. So they called the company AGAIN to see where the driver was, and apparently he was 10 minutes away. They finally arrive at 4:50pm and I thought it was finally going to be okay. I was wrong. They two guys, Kenny and Lee, seemed like they didn't really have much experience, at least Kenny didn't. Lee just seemed like it would rather be alone. It took them about 20 minutes to get my car on the flatbed, and then they just drove off, time 5:15pm. So when I got to the shop the next morning, they had just left my car in the lot knowing full well that the shop didn't have a way to get my car into the stall without some kind of towing. So the guys at the car shop had to do a process of jacking my car up and driving/pulling it into the stall. This whole experience made a bad day worse. I will never use this company and I am going to do my best to tell everyone not to use this company. No one should have to go through waiting 2 and a half hours for a tow.

Review: My 2012 Toyota Camry was winched off the neutral ground on Monday, June 1, 2015 and AFTER was given the receipt to sign that explained damages to car may occur after winching and Tru 2 Towing was not responsible. Car was brought to Toyota and adjuster concluded that the car needed a new steering rack and stabilizing link that occurred to the drivers side of the car which was the same side that the car was winched. Damages were $2,049.44. I called the owner, Brian at the towing company and explained the damages and he said it was not his responsibility because he said I signed the receipt. I told him I signed it AFTER the winching occurred and the driver never gave me information that the car could be damaged due to winching before he winched the car. I asked him for the name of the insurance company and he declined to give it to me. I also called Brian with the insurance company on three way and he was very rude. I told him that the driver winched the car wrong. Toyotas have two hooks which are not part of the steering rack for the sole purpose of winching or towing. Brian also tried to blame me and told me that the damage occurred because the tires got stuck in the mud and the tires turned in them. He ended up hanging up on both me and the insurance company. I have paid $90 for a winching not done properly and now my insurance company will have to pay for the damages and I also have to come up with a deductible that should be the responsibly due to the Tru 2 negligent and untrained driver.Desired Settlement: Would like to have full damages covered by Tru 2 towing and recovery.
