True Blue Veterinary Hospital Reviews (6)

Hi!I have personally contacted the owner twice .  Last time ws Friday the 17.  I explained what seems to be that pet got stressed out and might have been on cardiac arrest.  We did all we could but we could not save te pet.   We never done an exam on this pet...

before, so we dont know about any pre-existing condition.  All  I was able to obseve was that pet was overweight.I offered her to have pet cremated privately so she can have the ashes back and obviously not to charge for the grooming which was already done. Thanks for the resport, let me know if you have any other questions.Dr [redacted]

From: True Blue Veterinary Hospital
This letter is to address a complaint made by [redacted] (assigned ID [redacted]) in regard to G Bar N Veterinary Clinic, now True Blue Veterinary Hospital.
On February 20th, 2015 a dog ([redacted]) was brought into True Blue Veterinary Hospital by a Dog Rescue after being turned in by another person who had found the dog on the side of the road not moving in the neighbor city of Gustine. On arrival the pet was comatose and unresponsive, underweight, with a body temperature too low to be registered by a thermometer, and with no external lesions with the exception of a small thoracic hernia. When presented with these clinical signs it was suspected that this pet might have been hit by car or attacked by another dog. An Animal Control Officer from Gustine, CA was contacted to see if the pet’s owner could be localized. This pet was not microchiped but the animal control officer recalled that this pet had been loose before and that they knew the owner.
Two hours later owner was reached and came over to identify his pet. He identified the dog as his and claimed that the dog had escaped the house the night before.  It was explained to him how the pet was found and that at that present point no improvements on the pet’s condition were observed. The owner said he could not be responsible for the bill for treatments rendered. A 20% discount was offered on the total bill.  The owner stated that he could not afford any treatment at all.  Since most of the medical treatment was done True Blue Veterinary Hospital offered to keep the dog under observation for a few more hours since he was already under treatment and decided not to charge any other further treatment since then on because owner declined it, or decide if he wanted to euthanize the pet due to lack of improvement of its clinical state.
About an hour later, his wife called to ask about the dog and also to inform us that they did not authorize any type of care and for that reason they should not be charged.
By 3 pm the pet started moving and vocalizing in pain and started vomiting.  We called the owners and informed about the deterioration of the pet’s clinical state. We discussed that pet was suffering and at that point euthanasia was recommended.  The owner said he needed to talk to his wife and that they would call back with a decision. The pet continued vomiting and 5 minutes later owner was called back and made aware of state of agony his pet was on. At this point he approved euthanasia. While on the phone the owner informed True Blue Veterinary Hospital that he had only $25 for the whole services performed (Value of about $700). We agreed to that and requested owner to come by and pick up the body. The owner agreed and came the next day to pick up the body.  To our knowledge this had been the end of this case.
Dr. [redacted], owner of True Blue Veterinary Hospital and the veterinarian in charge that day, decided to drop all charges for services rendered since the moment this pet arrived at True Blue Veterinary Hospital until it got euthanized. As stated previously only a $25 fee was collected since that is all the owner has offered.

This pet spent most of the day hospitalized on IV fluids and constant monitoring. An intravenous catheter  was placed to administer fluids, injections were given to stabilize this pets cardiac clinical state, injections were given to minimize tremors, anti- inflammatory drugs were administered and supplements for possible low blood sugar were given to stabilize blood sugar levels. All these services on a regular bill would amount to more than $500.
As stated above, all charges were dropped and a onetime $25 fee was paid for this pet’s euthanasia.
True Blue Veterinary Hospital thanks the Revdex.com for the opportunity to provide our version of this dispute. We hope our letter clearly explained and transmitted that we care about animals and that faced with a case of animal neglect we worked together to assist, and at the end relieve, this pet was suffering.

Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:Yes, the Dr tried twice to talk with me but the first time was right after finding out my baby was dead!!! The second time I hung up on the Dr because they wanted me to give them instructions on how to handle the remains! Seriously??? Instead I was told they would put my baby in a box and freeze him. How cold hearted is that? My cat was alive when I brought him to the Vet 5 hours before and they want to discuss funeral arrangements?? I spoke to the Dr on Friday the 17th, and she assured me I wouldn't get a bill for ANY OF IT, grooming or cremation. As long as the complaint stay public with Revdex.com, I feel the matter will never feel resolved since I don't have my cat, but we don't need to have any further conversation's over this. If I had the money I would of sued the Doctor and her staff for negligence and would have won, I'm sure! I also hope the Doctor does all the plans to admitted to that could have relieved any/all stress that my cat was under being their 5 hours! And being dried for 20 minutes when he was shaved and had no hair to dry?? I know what happened and so does the groomer and Doctor, but proving that looks about as promising as walking through my front door tonite and have my baby greet me. There is nothing more.

By law , owners are responsible for their pets specially when unattended.  Did not have consent but pet was dying and owner was not localized yet.

Review: On Wednesday July 15th @ 11:00am, I took my 5 year old, healthy cat to the Vet for a shave and bath. At 2:40pm, the groomer calls me up and says that my cat was a "good boy" for his bath and haircut and that she was going to dry him and she would call me in about 20 minutes to come get him. An hour goes by and I called asking whats happening. The doctor comes on to tell me that taking my cat to get his nails clipped he suddenly died and she did CPR for 5 minutes with no luck. How do you take your baby in to get a simple cut and bath and it dies???? I have no proof, but he was probably overheated for too long and thats how he died. I will never know but they KNOW!! My cat was my life, he was my heart and this Vet carelessly took his life. He still had that kitten playfulness in him, and he was healthy. This should never of happened and because of that, I want this complaint filed with any and every organization so maybe it saves at least one cat or dog from a suffering death!!Desired Settlement: What I want out of this matter is for this complaint to be filed, and stay on the Hospital's record. I also SHOULD NOT get any type of bill whatsoever!!! They haven't sent one as of the time I am typing this, but I wouldn't be surprised that they still won't.
