Tuscarawas Ambulatory Surgery Reviews (3)

This letter is to address the complaint ID *** submitted by *** *** on behalf of *** ***The complaint alleges that the patient was charged times for one procedure and that the patient had three skin lesions removed all at one time. The Tuscarawas Ambulatory Surgery Center (TASC)
utilizes standardized billing practices and maintains contractual compliance with our commercial insurance carriersMrs*** had three separate skin lesions removedThe procedures were billed using the standardized billing practice and is in compliance with our current Aultcare (Mrs***'s insurance provider) contractThe claim was processed and paid by Aultcare in accordance with our current contract, and Mrs*** was billed her copay and deductible. As requested, TASC provided Mrs*** with a copy of her medical recordMr*** then called and requested an itemized bill, we tried to explain to Mr*** that TASC utilizes a billing system that does not produce an itemized bill showing each item used for each procedure performedWe offered to generate the claim form for him to show him the chargesHis response was "I want and itemized bill and you have hours to provide me one or my lawyer will be in contact with you." I again tried to explain the billing procedureDuring my explanation Mr*** was yelling loudly and stated "you (cuss word) is, do you know what you are doing? My lawyer will be in contact with you." I then responded by saying that I would be happy to explain the situation to Mr***'s lawyer if that is what he wanted me to doHis response was "you are a (cuss word) is" and hung up the phone. At no time did any member of TASC staff, including myself, use vulgar language toward Mr***Nor did I say "we do not have to give you one, too bad that is what it is, or have your (cuss word) lawyer call me." My telephone conversation with Mr*** was witnessed by TASC staff members

This letter is to address the complaint ID *** submitted by *** *** on behalf of *** ***The complaint alleges that the patient was charged times for one procedure and that the patient had three skin lesions removed all at one time.An earlier explanation addressing Mr***'s complaint was provided to you on April 22, Mr*** determined that the explanation and proposed action would not resolve his complaint.Mr*** again states that a TASC employee definitely did say "have your (curse word) lawyer call me." This is inaccurateAt no time did anyone from TASC use profanity in a conversation with Mr***.The Tuscarawas Ambulatory Surgery Center (TASC) utilizes standardized billing practices and maintains contractual compliance with our commercial insurance carriersMrs***'s procedures were billed using the standardized billing practice and in compliance with our current insurance contractThe claim was processed and paid by Mrs***'s insurance provider in accordance with our current contract, and Mrs*** was billed her co-pay and deductible.Mr*** has requested an "itemized bill." TASC has offered him a copy of Mrs***'s claim/billing statementThis is the only type of written claim/billing statement that we produce and is the same type of statement that is provided to insurance providers and individuals requesting a copy of their "bill." I am sorry that this is obviously not satisfying Mr***, but is the only option available.Staff members have tried to explain our billing practices to Mr*** over the telephoneMr*** easily became hostile, using profanity and talking over the staff members, not allowing them to finish their sentencesMr*** had ended the call by hanging up prior to a resolution of his complaint.I apologize that Mr*** is not satisfied and again, I offer a copy of Mrs***'s claim/billing statement

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I .   I want an itemized bill . It's funny Ken stated he could give me an itemized bill then when my wife went to pick it up it was not there with her information . YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THIS WITHIN A SUBSTANCIAL AMOUNT OF TIME WHEN REQUESTED . How do you bill people if you can not break it down and itemize everything ! You should be able to do this . FRAUD is what the problem is
Regards,
