Two Men And A Truck New Orleans Reviews (4)

Review: Two Men and A Truck were hired to move my company's (Creek Services, LLC) office on 6/24/14. The movers showed up at 9:45am with 6 guys and two trucks and took a lunch break at 11:00am. The movers took a 45 minute lunch. Only 3 guys worked the whole time. One guy only worked for the last hour of the move. The movers went over the allotted time of 6.5 hours due to the fact they took a 45 minute lunch and took 1.5 hrs to go to the new office which only takes 30 minutes. The movers broke 3 desks and damaged walls at the old office and new office location which I am required to fix. I called and spoke to [redacted] when the movers were done and she agreed that the move was unacceptable and that she would discount the move. I spoke with the owner on 6/25/14 who was extremely disrespectful and he stated "there is no doubt that three of your desks are broke but you still have to pay the full amount of the move". He also stated that his guys are allowed to take breaks and that I was paying for all 6 men whether they worked or not. The guys also spit sunflower seeds all over the office floor at the old location. I had to hire cleaners to clean up the floor.Desired Settlement: I do not believe I should have to pay the full amount of the move due to the fact of the broken desks and property damage. I had to pay cleaners to clean up the sunflower seeds which was $75.00. I will have to patch the walls were the movers damaged them with furniture, and I will have to get my desks repaired. The original estimate was for $1990 for 6.5 hrs and I was charged $2166 for 7.5 hrs. I believe I should only pay half if that.

Review: Two Men And a Truck moved personal belongings from my home on 7/30/13 and damaged antiques and the stainless steel refrigerator due to packing with no moving pads or other promised protective packing materials and apathetic disregard for our belongings on the part of the two employees. **. [redacted], owner of the company and Compass Furniture, refuses responsibility for all damages because of a contract limitation requiring all items to be assessed in a particular time frame. He did have someone repair one antique table and sent a check for $166 for damage to our stainless refridgerator (which cost approximately $2000 approximately 2 years ago) and the damage consists of scratches across both front stainless doors and scratches and dents to one side.... caused by the movers strapping the appliance to a metal dolly with no protection between the metal dolly and the straps, etc. Contract or no contract, the entire experience was unprofessional and with complete disregard for the integrity of our antiques and other belongings. We smelled alcohol on one of the movers, the lift on the truck arrived broken, and three of us witnessed one mover tossing boxes marked "fragile" upside down into the hands of the other. We have yet to unpack all of our belongings, as they were moved by this company into a storage pod while we are completing renovations to our new home. The expectation is that when we unpack, the extensive art glass collection will be damaged as well. Our white canvas sofa, box springs and mattress and other items were placed into the Compass truck's dirty floor with no protection. I asked if the movers could use the flattened cardboard boxes they had on the truck and was told the company would not allow them to use the cardboard. I specifically inquired as to whether I should provide moving pads and protective material when we placed the order and was assured emphatically that these materials would be provided. All that was furnished was shrink wrap to keep doors closed. A nightmare.....Desired Settlement: We request that our refrigerator be repaired by the moving company and would like to return the $166. We would like for our antique walnut oak bar to be repaired. It is full of scratches and marks. We desire for [redacted] to care about the experience of his customers, rather than rely on contract language as a vehicle to avoid doing the right thing. We want him to care.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

As I continue to unpack the storage pod in my driveway as renovations are complete, I am even more appalled to discover additional damage to more of my furniture, as seen in the attached photos. I respectfully request that my refrigerator door and its right side be repaired, my mattress and white loveseat cleaned and the scratches and damage to my antiques (bed footboard, walnut bar, etc.) repaired.

Review: This company misleads customers and under delivers. Prices are very high.Workers are severely under trained. Owner was not conciliatory about the performance of his people. As an experienced person who has moved international and domestic - this was the absolute worst move I've experienced. Here is my issues of unsatisfaction:1. Broke multiple items2. HORRID pack job a. Failure to label boxes or label adequately b. 1/2 packed boxes - causing more boxes than needed & raising cost c. 1/2 pack boxes causing crushed boxes d. In a split move of items to storage & house, mixed it up completely, even mixing items that were clearly marked for different locations w/i same box e. When going to the storage, rather than having a plan to pack the storage area, and listening to my wife, they piled it in as it came off the truck - no planning of where to put larger items, then add smaller items. f. Items were horribly wrapped - i.e. placing prints worth thousands of dollars, with framing costing a couple of hundred each all in a box together; items piled in boxes not wrapped causing damage beyond measure to multiple irreplaceable momentos and gifts.3. At least 30 places where the walls were damaged, gauged, schuffed, door frames damaged, carpet badly soiled4. Price is completely out of control - at $1K/mile... it was a five mile move. Workers are obviously untrained - have no idea what they are doing. When addressing this with the owner, his attitude was condescending, arrogant, dismissive and unrepentant. He refused any effort to rectify and redeem his family business reputation and doesn't care what I do to report or protest his business. I do NOT recommend anyone use this company for any reason.Desired Settlement: They should offer a redemption of 20% of the total cost paid for the damages and horrible move that cost me hours (total 20 man hours) in alone fixing the move location mistakes, labeling mistakes and all the damages that are replaceable. He's not going to - he'll hide behind the limit of the law and not do "what's right" because he doesn't care. I want this on his public record for others to see though. I've placed a hold on payment and refuse to pay until ordered to by a court.
