I signed a binding estimate from this Assurance Van Lines, not knowing they were a broker. The move day, 2 guys show up in a rental 26 ft. Enterprise truck. They were very unorganized and it took several hours to complete. Once they were done, they revised the paperwork and said I had 4000 lbs. instead of 3000 lbs which I thought very unlikely. I called Assurance and Two Way over the next week, spoke to them no less than 5 times. Then the moving company tells me its another $500 for over weigh and another $350 because it's going to a different address from storage, although it's the same distance. I asked for the weight reciept when it left my state and I was told the driver "misplaced it" So my bonded contract with Assurance which states "Federal regulations requires carrier to honor original estimate if foreman has loaded truck prior to shipper signing and agreeing to revised estimate." Assurance would not work on my behalf to remedy this situation so my original estimate that was $1718.87 turned into $2600 after their courtesy discounts.
Both of these companies are horrible to work with - stay away!
Moving from Kentucky to Utah we expected a moving van but when the movers finally showed up it was with a 26 foot box van rented from Enterprise and no way would all our furniture fit in that. They filled it to capacity and then left for four hours returning around 10PM and did not finish loading till 1AM leaving us with a real mess to clean up. We are now beginning week number three since moving to Utah. We have moved in to our new home but still no furniture and nobody from the company seems to think it's important to let us know where our furniture is. We've been sleeping on a borrowed blow up air mattress and eating on a food up camp table. I have called this company four times and still no resolve. MOVING APT who scheduled TWO WAY RELOCATION INC is just as bad if not worse. Both companies should be avoided at all costs because it will end up costing you lots of money for major dissatisfaction. BOTH ARE TERRIBLE COMPANIES AND HAVE LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lies! All lies!
Two Way Relocation did an excellent job moving my stuff from Rochester, NY to Jacksonville, FL. [redacted] and [redacted] were both extremely professional and personable throughout the move. They made sure that my possessions were properly wrapped and arrived damage free. Even with other loads on the trailer I received mine within 5 days, versus the 7-14 I was quoted. I would recommend them to anyone looking to move as they are able to accomadate a lot or little at a reasonable price.
Part 1 : Florida to Colorado.
I was shopping around for a state to state moving/relocation company that would also help me with storage and would be within my budget. After calling about 10 moving company's I decided to go with Two Way Relocation , the price was within my budget (2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms apartment from a second floor) Very professional and hard workers and with very good attention to detail making sure everything was loaded carefully.
