Company is not honoring a contract to provide me with 5 years of indoor storage (value: $9,600).
I am a senior citizen (55+), and I feel like I'm being abused by Utah Watersports, as they are not honoring their contract with me. I bought a Centurion boat from them through their Issaquah dealership, finalizing the deal in April 2012. When I was considering purchasing the boat from their store, I did a lot of research and calculated that it was worth $50,000 to me. However, the General Manager (GM) said he needed to sell it for $60,000 - as that was the lowest his owners would take for the boat. My compromise with the GM was to get additional value added to the contract in order to close the gap. This additional value included things like dockside warranty service and free covered indoor storage for 5 years. This additional value was written into the contract. The free indoor boat storage for 5 years has a market value of $9,600.
The General Manager of that store was let go during the summer (he had been the GM for several years), and the owner is now trying to get out of key terms in my purchase agreement, claiming that the previous GM committed fraud by promising to give me storage. The owner says that the previous General Manager should not have put this into the contract, that he didn't have the right to offer me this, and that the owner isn't liable for what is written in the contract.
The dealership is now claiming they can only give me indoor storage for 2 years. And I if [redacted]'t agree to their "settlement" I should come and pick up my trailer immediately. Unfortunately I [redacted]'t have anywhere to store my trailer and boat, as alternatives would cost me $9,600 for the five years of storage.
I feel as though this company is taking advantage of me, and I [redacted]'t know what to do.
