Review: From: Carl ZimmermanTo: Revdex.comRE: Valley Energy (Canton, CT, phone ####-###-####, local branch not found in Revdex.com websiteDate: 1/7/2014I had heating issues with a zone in my house after returning from vacation. The first time a service man came out and told me he "thought" I had frozen pipes. He purged these frozen pipes and conducted diagnosis. He charged me $200 for this service. The temperature went up and as instructed I slowly heated my room so as not to break the pipe. After his visit the whole house started making gurgling noises (in different zones of the house.)so I called them back. This time a different service man came (I talked to the supervisor and he told me that he would charge me $150 to fix the problem that they had originally caused). He worked on the system and found out that the pipe was burst. He then spent a few minutes correcting the original problem. That bill came to about $300.So for two visits, I received the gift of air in the pipes from the first repair man which the second purged. I started and ended the two repair visits with exactly the same problem. Heating in one of my areas does not work and my other pipes don't have air in them. This is an outrageous result for $500 of work. I should have held their money but I did not want to impact the servicemen who came.Desired Settlement: I would lke a refund for the work.

Mr. Zimme rman was contact by phone on 1/20/14. We discussed the service calls that took place in January 2014. An agreed credit of $200.00 was issued on his account. A refund check will be issued and mailed to his home address.

Review: I have been a customer of Valley Energy for over 10 years. I guess I am not a good customer. I ran out of oil here in July (thank God not in a cold month). My oil tank guage is broken and said I had just under 1/2 tank. I ran out on July 4th a holiday. Called their emergency service and Valley Energy never called back. Called them again July 5th and they were busy, not in the area. Can't deliver until Monday July 8th. I told them I had no hot water. Oh well can't deliver until Monday unless I wanted to pay a $89.00 rush delivery charge. Well black mail doesn't work for me, so I am now looking for a new oil service. I cannot believe an oil company would treat a long time customer this poorly. Poor service, poor customer service. I asked for someone to come up and fix the oil tank guage. I was told to unscrew it myself to fix it. Wow, really. I know nothing about oil tanks. I suppose I will have to service my furnace myself too. Valley Energy shoud be ashamed for this poor business practive. Just awful. Please advise people to not do business with Valley Energy.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Please advise customers. I went on your web site and saw [redacted] recommended by you. I will just do business with someone I hope is better than Valley Energy. Valley Energy is not on your web site, and I now know why.Thank You

Response:

First heard of this complaint on 9/6/13 and we immediately called the customer on four seperate occassions and spoke with Mrs. [redacted] this morning. We apologizied for any confusion over the delivery requested on the 4th of July and as a gesture of good faith we will repaire the oil tank monitor free of charge even though that is a billable service not covered under a service agreement. The [redacted]'s have continued to remain a Valley customer. As a matter of fact on 9/4/13 they switched there account from will call (which means you call for your delivery) to an automatic delivery account (which means we delivery the oil to the customer automatically based off of a degree day system). On 9/9/13 they received a delivery from Valley of 91.8 gallons. When [redacted] spoke with Mrs. [redacted] everything appeared to be ok and we are in the process of scheduling the repair/replacement of the broken guage. If you ahould require more information from us please contact me at your conveince.

Review: Oil Burner was cleaned, Oil was leaking on floor since the cleaning.Tools were left behind.

Billed and charge before service was done. Appointment was missed. No response when

informed of the situation. Countless menu's to contact people but no action taken.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund. And I don't wish to do any business with this company in the future.

Very poor service and customer service.
