Review: I have a vehicle loan through Valley Federal Credit Union. My payments are due on the 20th of each month. My wife mailed the payment and for whatever reason, Valley Credit Union did not receive the payment. Several weeks later, we discovered that the payment never came out of our account. My wife called Valley Federal Credit Union several times and attempted to make a payment. Valley Federal Credit Union refused to accept payment because she "was not on the account." Today (06/11/2013) I have been attempting to get Valley Federal Credit Union to accept the payment from me personally, and they refuse to accept payment. They told me that their computer is down and they are unable to process any payments at this time. Their associates are very rude and refuse to accept my payment. In total, my wife and I have made four attempts to make this payment and Valley Federal Credit Union refuses to accept payment.Desired Settlement: Valley Federal Credit Union needs to wave all late fees and reverse any reports that they have made to my credit score. I also believe that Valley Federal Credit Union should issue a written apology for their refusal to accept payment, and their subsequent assessment of late fees and reports to credit bureaus.

Complaint

The date of Mr. [redacted]'s actual complaint, June 11, 2013, we contacted Mr. [redacted] by phone and received the information needed to post his payment.

The major issue that Mr. [redacted] is discussing concerning taking a payment by phone from his wife is that his wife is not on the loan nor is she a member. Since under Federal Privacy Laws, we cannot disclose information on a loan that another party is not legally bound, we were unable to take a payment by phone from Mr. [redacted]'s wife.

On June 11th when Mr. [redacted] called to pay by phone, our systems were indeed down when he called and we were unable to post his payment. As soon as our system came back up, we called Mr. [redacted] later on June the 11th, obtained the information and posted his payment.

No report was made to Mr. [redacted]'s credit to the credit bureaus so no change is necessary.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience that Mr. [redacted] had concerning our systems being down and have made arrangements to correct this issue.

As a courtesy for inconveniencing Mr. [redacted], we did indeed return his fees.
