At the time of the transaction, poplar was $4.45 BF which at 7 1/4" x 12' would come to $2.69 LF. If the customer would like we can refund him to our new current board foot price of $2.95 making his total refund $11.88. For the general public we sell our lumber in lineal feet instead of board...

footage to make it easier for our customers. If you go to any box store for example they all sell by lineal feet or price per each and not board footage.

Company states: We have decided to refund the customer the $11.88. He should expect it within a few days.

Review: To whom it may concern:

On Oct. 20 of this year, I went to Valley Lumber, on [redacted]. I purchase some lumber. The lumber I purchased was poplar. THis lumber is sold by lumber Co oq by the board foot. When I got home and check my bill I noticed the I had been charged by lineal foot. When I went back to correct my purchase, I was refused a refund.

I bought a board 1"X7"x12' long, this would be 2.69 X 7 board feet or $18.83. He charged me 32.28 plus tax 35.19. He charged me 2.69 X 12' or lineal ft.

His refusal was because "he always sells his lumber by lineal feet.

The formula for board ft. is as follows:

Thickness x width x length / by 144

1 X 7 x 144 / 144 = 7 bd. ft.Desired Settlement: Refund.
