Review: Customer Service and Service issues. This company is unprofessional a Pest Service, that I would not recommend to anyone for the money it cost after 9/10 months of service pest still in Apt Unit. They had to have it fumigated the place as infested. Every Tenant had to fill out a form saying they were not responsible for any valuables etc. We were told they would start around 8 or 9 am. The Valley Pet Owner wanted the Keys and have us leave and come back in 3 days. They gave us a few bags to prepare for the fumigation and said they would bring some more, we had to call them and ask for more we told them the amount the Valley Pest owner said that was a lot and he would have to charge us for them. The contract said something different. The crew did not come until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. The Valley Pest owner did not return our Keys back to us he gave them to the owner of the complex, that is not how you do business. We did not get a call form this agency and say this is a good time to come and inspect your apt unit, this is not how you do business for customer that already going thrugh stress with living situations. I have a problem with a service that I am paying and not seeing any results and I have pay more money to get the work done correctly. The Service and Customer Service was terrible the Valley Pest owner would talk about the other tenants to the other tenants.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

They need to be added to the Revdex.com list in which they are not on the list of Beware of this service and also they need to be investigated. We did not see or Know the people that was doing the service as the form stated they are not responsible for any valuables and they will be an chare of over a 100 or more if they have bag or throw anything away.

Business' Initial Response

I'm surprised to see that the [redacted] have made such a complaint, because prior to having received this complaint I felt we had a good working relationship.

On December 2012, I was hired by the owner of the property to resolve a german roach issue all three attached units were experiencing, and paid solely by the owner as well. Prior to scheduling the initial treatment all tenants and the landlord was informed of proper prep procedures and what they could expect, which included the possible number of treatments to get this resolved. I would be in direct communication with all tenants in scheduling appointments and findings related to their specific home and not any of the others. On January 8, 2013 I had my final contact with all tenants and the owner that hired me regarding the german roach problem because the tenants had indicated at that time there were no longer any roaches in their particular home.

It wasn't till the first part of February 2013 that I had contact with any of the tenants because the owner decided to hire me on an ongoing basis to treat the exterior for general pest control and to treat the interior as needed to keep the pest situation under control. As previously all tenants were contacted prior to the February 6, 2013 service and nobody indicted any pest issues within their homes to me at this time.

It was not till the beginning of June when an attempt was made to reach all tenants prior to the June 5th service date that the [redacted]'s had commented to me that they believed they had bed bugs. It was over the phone that I explained to them that this was something that was not covered under the service agreement that their landlord has contracted with me. But before we jump the gun let me come and inspect for them and we can go from there after the inspection. It was on June 5th that I inspected one of the rooms that Mrs. [redacted] stated she was getting her bites from, Mr. [redacted] was not, however this is not unusual. During the inspection they indicated the steps they had been going through to control the situation themselves and it was at this time that I explained to them the various measures and costs for controlling this. They indicated they would continue to do what they have been doing to control the situation.

It wasn't till July 23rd that I had my next interaction with the [redacted]'s when I was at the property to treat the other units at the owners' request. I was not there to treat the [redacted]'s home so time was not allotted to do so. When I completed one of the units the [redacted]'s asked if I was going to do theirs. I replied, "No I was not scheduled to do so." Before any more could be said Mr. [redacted] began hollering how he pays his rent on time and he wasn't going to be paying it this time and was calling the owner. He had conversation with the owner then said he wanted to speak with me. The owner asked if I could treat his house for he is now saying they have seen roaches. I explained to the owner that since the XXXXXX was not here as scheduled to treat, I can now take that time and treat the [redacted]'s. Mrs.[redacted] then said that the owner was getting other bids for the bed bug treatment and didn't know why the owner wasn't going to just use me just because I was a bit more expensive. She also began to blame her neighbor for her problems. I explained to her that she could pick this problem up from anywhere buy purchasing items at a thrift store, garage sale going to a friend's house there is no way to pin point the source. I never discussed with any of the tenants any of the problems any of the other tenants may or may not be having. The one thing that was discussed with the [redacted]'s is that one of the tenants does not make the appointments so that was going to be a challenge when it came time to coordinate the schedule for the treatment of the bed bugs.

Around July 22nd the owner decided he would hire Valley Pest Solutions to do the bed bug treatment; it was at this time that I contacted the [redacted]'s and asked them what the best time was for them to be away from the property since I had most of my conversations with them. They indicated that Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would be best as Mrs. [redacted] explained why. I then contacted the fume company and gave them the window of treatment we would like to have this done. They called me back July 25th and said August 6th would be the date that they would begin to fume the units. It was then that I contacted the [redacted]'s and spoke with Mrs. [redacted] and said we are schedule to go for August 6th. She wanted to know why we weren't doing it July 27th. As I explained to her that this is Thursday night I still had to get in touch with the other tenants and that I don't feel four days was adequate time to get prepared for this and that the August 6th is the next Tuesday as you requested. I also wanted to schedule a time for a representative from the fumigation company to meet with the tenants and to go over the documents they would be required to sign in order for this company to do the fumigation and answer any questions they may have.

On July 30th the fumigation company and I met with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] and their son and one other resident, one of the residents was not present. I had given them the paperwork that is required by the state and the fumigation company to review for about thirty minutes then I went over things that I felt that were pertinent for a successful and smooth fumigation. A few of those things were the time that I would be by to collect the keys for the fumigation company so that they would have access to all the areas required in order to do their job. Another was to remove all valuables such as jewelry, cash, weapons basically anything they deemed valuable because their homes would be vacant for a number of days. The other was how and what to place in the fumigation bags. Each tenant was given a supply of bags and was told that if they did not have enough not to worry that when the fumigation crew came out and anything that was not bagged and needed to be they would take care of it. The fumigation company and I answered any questions they had and departed.

It was on August 2nd that I met with Mrs. [redacted] and supplied her with more bags which she said she felt that would be enough. She was not charged for any bags, for that matter nobody was charged for any of the bags.

On August 5th the fumigation notified me that they would be out to the property between 12-2pm. We had no idea what time of the day the fumigation company would arrive since they do their weekly scheduling on the Monday of that week. It is complicated to try and reschedule with multiple people involved. Since the tenants and I had already agreed that I would pick up their keys at 8am, I stuck with that plan as agreed upon. Upon arrival the [redacted]'s still had a need for more fume bags and one of the other neighbors gave them her left overs. As mentioned earlier anything not bagged that needed to be the fumigation company would take care of it. I met with the crew and gave the team leader which was the same person that met with the residence earlier keys to their homes and left them to do their work.

On August 8th the owner contacted me and asked that I give him the keys to the homes because none of the tenants had paid their rent. On August 9th I met with the fumigation crew and waited till they cleared their homes and gathered the keys and secured everything. It was shortly thereafter the owner came by and picked up the keys and said he would be contacting each of the tenants accordingly.

At no time were any of the tenants asked, or required to pay for any aspect of this service, nor have they ever by Valley Pest Solutions or the company that provided the fumigation. All pest control services and items related to this service have been paid for by the owner as far as I am aware of. And at no time do I discuss any of the tenants personal or pest related issues with any of the tenants, this is discussed with the owner because that is who hired me to do the service.

I certainly can empathize with the tenants as this is a very frustrating procedure at any level of infestation and I feel every effort was made to ease that difficulty and follow time lines to make things less frustrating. I am pleased to say that this is now behind us and that all the tenants can be reassured that they are bed bug free and roach free.
