Valley Towing Reviews (3)

[redacted] I am not going to apologize for you leaving your truck and trailer along the side road for at least 2 hours . It was towed by the order of the police department myself and the officer on scene as well as 2 individuals that knew you tried to make contact with you. After 4 attempts your...

girlfriend answered the phone we discussed the options that you had available, at which time you being upset and started cursing and threatening, we gave you 30 minutes to make arrangements and you failed to do so upon your arrival the officer had to tell you go back to your SUV. At which time he instructed me to tow it upon his order! As far as your tools you removed what you deemed necessary and the truck was towed. The process to get your truck back is simple and was explained to you by the officer. Feel free to have an assigned agent contact me to get your truck released.

Review: I parked outside of an apartment complex to be the designated driver for a group of friends. I had to leave my vehicle to go get the intoxicated individuals and bring them safely to the car. I was away from my vehicle for approximately 10 minutes. When I returned, I found a tow truck and two employees attaching equipment to my car to tow it away. I explained to them what I was doing there and how long I had been gone. The truck driver, named [redacted], said that I needed to pay $135 right there or they would take my car, even though I was ready to drive it out of the lot. He said that if I didn't pay he would have to take my car away and if he didn't charge me he could possibly lose his job. He did suggest that I call his supervisor the next day, because the company has been known to refund money in these types of situations. I paid him, and then he took the equipment that had been put on my car off. Before he got back in the truck, I watched him take a picture of my license plate. The next day, I called the supervisor of the company who refused to refund my money because he claims that the photograph was taken and all of the equipment was on my car before I found my car.

According to the Code of Ordinances for the Town of Blacksburg, "If the owner or custodian of any vehicle not authorized to be parked in a private parking area returns after a tow truck service has arrived but before the vehicle actually has been towed, he or she may reclaim the vehicle whether or not it is fully hooked up to the tow truck, and it shall be unlawful for the tow truck service or operator to refuse to release the vehicle. However, if the vehicle has been hooked up, or is in the process of being hooked up, the tow truck operator may charge a drop fee not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25.00) before releasing the vehicle or discontinuing the towing process" (Section 12-419). I was wrongfully charged $110 more than the legal amount set forth in the Code of Ordinances.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $110, because the tow truck driver was in the process of hooking up my car and had not driven away when I returned to my vehicle. Therefore, I was overcharged by $110, and should be refunded.

Review: We had a car accident while traveling. We hit two deer in our Honda Element. Our accident happened at 9pm on a Friday evening about 20 mins away from Plains, MT on Highway 200. After having the accident, we weren't sure if our car was drive able so we left our vehicle, calling 911 letting them know that we would be leaving their vehicle for our insurance company to tow the following morning. They said that was perfectly fine, so we stayed in a hotel in Plains, MT. The next morning, we went to find our vehicle and about searching for 2+hours realized that it had been towed by the sheriffs department in Sanders County, who had not contacted the highway patrol regarding tour 911 call. The sheriffs department called us, apologizing to us regarding the 'mishap' that they claimed fault for. When we go to the tow yard, Valley Towing, the sheriff told us not to worry about it and the manager at Valley Towing asked (approximately 1pm on Saturday) told us that they had towed in on Saturday morning, asked that since it was a Saturday and it was really her 'day off' if she could wait on Monday to tow it to the body shop so our insurance can assess it. We had no idea whatsoever that Valley Towing was charging us $30 per day for 4 days for storing our vehicle at that two yard. They changed us for 4 days, even though we asked if the vehicle be towed Satuday afternoon. I gave the manager all of my insurance information for the towing fees, however, the manager went on Monday at the tow drop to the body shop demanding ng a payment of $386 ($30 per day for 4 days, even though I never requested storage and $266 for towing fees for 120 miles, even though it was less than a 40 mile trip, one that we never requested whatsoever. The body shop, [redacted] (I have a seperate claim for them) paid this tow bill (supposedly) and then charged us and demanding the fees when we picked up the vehicle. Both companies refused to use my insurance company. I feel so cheated and need help.Desired Settlement: I would like Revdex.com to look into this business, and would like a refund of the $120 fee for storage.
