Value Kia Reviews (8)

Review: A 2006 Kia [redacted] was purchased at the Value Kia at the [redacted] Auto Mall on February 14, 2014 by customer [redacted]. There have been major issues and repairs for this financed vehicle that the customer does not feel the dealer is not putting for the correct attention to in making the appropriate maintenance. Since the purchase of the vehicle it has been in the shop 5 times and still not in the possession of the owner [redacted].

• On 04/28/14 complaint from lessee that the steering was tight, it was hard to turn the wheel, and the air conditioner was not working. The customer asked to perform an inspection of the vehicle to assure it was in good working order. The problem was to fix the harmonic balance crankshaft pulley as this was covered under the extended warranty. The customer paid the $100 deductible. The van was released to the on 05/06/14.

• On 06/04/14 the complaint was that the engine was overheating and customer saw there was a crack in the radiator underneath the hood. The Kia maintenance team fixed the issue by replacing the radiator assembly and cap that was covered under the extended warranty. The customer paid the $100 deductible and car was released on 06/11/14.

• On 06/17/14 the customer returned the vehicle due to no power to the vehicle for use. The customer requested to have a throttle body service performed. To correct the issue a cylinder ignition coil and spark plugs were replaced and performed the throttle body service by the customer’s request. These services were not covered under the warranty and customer paid $567.53. The vehicle was released on 06/25/14.

• On 07/07/14 the customer complaint was in regards to the engine overheating and the coolant was leaking from underneath. The problem to fix the issue was to replace the heater hose, as this service was not covered under warranty. The customer paid $294.79 and the vehicle was released on 07/23/14.

• On 07/28/14 the complaint was several issues of smoke coming out of the exhaust, engine overheating again, and the coolant level kept getting low after refilling several times. The issue was found that the cylinder head gaskets were leaking and the vehicle needed to be torn down to see the inside and fix any other missed issues. The customer was verbally told that they repair facility did not have time look at the car until September 2014 and will fix the issue then. Since September has come and gone the customer have been told many times from calling and physically going to the repair shop that the van would be available in a few days. The car to date is still with the Kia repair facility.

During all these times the vehicle was submitted for repairs and has been out of commission the customer [redacted] is still required to pay a financed payment of $290 and car insurance in the amount of $160 per month. This is unfair as the vehicle has barely been in the customer’s possession since June 2014 due to constant repairs. Each time the car was taken to the facility the promise was to correct the issue, but it does not appear as it was repaired correctly as the same issue kept arising. The request from [redacted] on several occasions is for the Kia dealer to replace the vehicle with a similar model vehicle in exchange for the Kia [redacted] which is proven to not be road worthy. In this short time span of purchasing the vehicle on February 14, 2014 this far a total of $1062.63 has been paid by the customer while his vehicle, 2006 Kia [redacted], is be held hostage at the Value Kia of [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like the Value Kia to exchange the vehicle for another in the same class that is in working order without defects, and to reimburse me the money that was paid to the finance company monthly in the amount of $1450 (Months June through October 2014).

Review: I bought a car from Value Kia, Sept 1, 2014. There was a nail in the right front tire but the service center was closed. I was told to come back the next day and they would replace it. I came back 9/2 and the tire was patched, instead of replaced, because the service center was about to close. I live in a different state and when I bought the car no one mentioned what needed to be done to have the car titled in another state. I was given a 30 day temp tag and was told they would call me when everything was done. A few days before the tags expired I called for an update. I was told to come back to the dealer and they would give me new temp tags until my tags came in. I got to the dealership and was told that I would only get a letter stating that they were waiting on my tags. I also told them that the tire they patched was still leaking and I was told that they didn't need to fix it the first time so they definitely wouldn't fix it a second time. I left with the letter and waited for my tags. I got a call a few days ago from my salesperson to say that I needed to take my car to the dmv and have it inspected and she forgot to tell me when I bought the car. So now I'm mad, that I have to go to the dmv with expired tags, pay for a temp delaware tag while waiting for it to be completed and also drive this form back to the dealership. I get off the phone with the salesperson and another sales person calls me to say the exact same thing. I explain that someone just told me the same thing and told her I was really frustrated with the dealership. She proceeds to yell at me and tell me not to talk to her with my tone. She told me, when I get "popped by the cops, don't [redacted] call back complaining" and hangs up the phone in my ear. In disbelief I call back to speak to the manager. I told him what happened, and he told me he apologizes and he would talk to another manager about it. He then explained clearly the instructions for titling my car.Desired Settlement: A 60 day temp tag should be provided and clear explanation of what needs to be done for each state of residence. I also want an apology or employee who cursed at me and hung up on me to be reprimanded. It was completely unacceptable. I would like my tire replaced at dealer cost, because originally that's what was offered the day that I purchased the car.

Review: 2010 Ford Focus SES was purchased on 3/9/13 at Value Kia in Phila, PA. The vehicle had a few issues that I brought to their attention. I heard a noise in the rear passenger side of the vehicle on the way home. I called them on that Monday to alert them to that noise. I was told to bring it in on that following Saturday. They looked at the vehicle and found nothing wrong with it at that time. I believe they obviously didn't look at the rear main seal. Then there after, I still heard the noises. I then had my Father-in-Law look at the vehicle out front of our house. He said there was a definite oil leak that he could see. On that Monday, I called the Ford dealership next door to Value Kia ([redacted]) they looked at the vehicle. They diagnosed the vehicle with a rear main seal oil leak. The Ford dealership needs the vehicle for 1 weeks time. I then called Value Kia and asked what I should do. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. I asked if I could have a loaner car while my car was being repaired. They told me sorry for your pain but no we can not do anything for you!Desired Settlement: I would like them to take responsibility for this situation and pay for my rental vehicle.

Review: I purchased a vehicle from value kia in october 2013, and had my trade-in towed to them. I live in nj, my tags were never turned into motor vehicle, causing my license and registration to become suspended, after contacting Kia several times, speaking with [redacted], and then calling the nj office speaking to [redacted], both managers, they were unwilling to help me locate my new tags and registration, they would not inform me to where my trade-in vehicle went too, nor were they willing to locate the tags still on the trade in vehicle. They also never replaced my tire or gave my car a detail as promised in my contract, for a purchase of approx 21 thousand dollars. It is just about the new year, and I still have no tags, no registration, and nobody is willing to help. I contacted motor vehicle and I am awaiting a response. I had no idea my license and registration was suspended until I was pulled over for my temp tag being over the date, and was had to pay to restore all of this, while filling out "lost tag paperwork" with motor vehicle, and I also had to pay fines with the [redacted] court. I will not recommend anyone go to this dealership, as they are quick to make a sale, but do not help the people afterwards.Desired Settlement: I want the cost of a new tire, I want payment for a detail that was never delivered, I want /need to obtain my nj plates and registration, I also want reimbursement for the fines I received while driving the vehicle because the company never turned in my tags.

Review: My mother purchased me a car on December 26, 2011. When we purchased the car the check engine light was on but they told use that its was not a big deal just bring the car back on that Saturday because by the time we finished the paperwork service was closed and they will fix the issue also put updated stickers on the car because my mother said that if the car was just inspected we should not have to pay for another inspection until the following year so I brought the car back on that up coming Saturday and this is when it all started with the run around. That Saturday they told me that the car needed a part and it had to be ordered and that they would call me when the part was in. I waited for them to call me about the part they finally called and said the part was in. I took the car back for them to put the part in and they then they told me that I had to drive the car for a certain amount of miles for some type of numbers to reset in the car, so I did but the light was still on come to find out that the part was bad. They claimed to fix it again and I went thru the same process again to get the same results. finally they said it was fixed the light was out and they put the stickers on the car. well when it was time for the inspection again I took my car the the mechanic I normally went to and I failed the inspection and they told me I had to take the car back to the dealer where I got it from so I did and they were sending me thru the same stuff about the same parts that was suppose to be fixed. I was back and forth again wasting my gas going back and fourth to the dealer also having to take off work to fight tickets because the stickers on the car was pass due. This process took well over a month because my mechanic said I had 30 days to get the problem fixed and bring the car back and I would not loose my money that I already paid out, need less to say I lost my money. In the mean time I was requesting all my paperwork for all the times I had to come in to service and I was told that they could not find the paperwork because they were doing a lot of moving around and some other nonsense. I do know that at the time that I was back and fourth with my car they were having a lot of issues with the mechanics not doing there job so they were firing mechanics left and right, and I believe I got caught up in that nonsense. They finally fixed it so they say. I was going to take my car back to my mechanic but they said that they will give me the inspection for free so I did not take it back to my mechanic. Which brings us up to now. I went to take my car for the inspection at my mechanic and again I FAILED IT. They told me it was the same codes from the last inspection that I had and told me I had to take it back to the dealer, mind you this is the problem that was supposed to be fixed that was paid for. Well my mother took it back this time because I could not take off from work, they told my mother that they were not going to do anything with the car and told her to take it to a [redacted] dealer they did not have the proper tools/ machinery to fix the car because they were not a [redacted] dealer. I had to take off from work to take it to the [redacted] dealer and when I took the car there this morning they did the test and it was the same issue, they said the engine light was on and either the person that was supposed to fix the light either took the engine light out or made it blow out and said it was fixed. So they said because it was already an existing problem I was dealing with and because I already paid value Kia to do the work they did not want to charge me for something that I already paid for so they only charged for the the test they had to do. I took it back to Value Kia and it just so happened that the girl that was working for the service department when I was bring my car back and fourth was there and she printed out all the paperwork that she could find about the services that was done on my car mind you she could not find all the paperwork so she gave me what she could find, also she said they said something about the electrical system in the car being messed up, so my question was why would they sell the car if the electrical system was messed up? I then went back to [redacted] wasting gas again to give them the paper work that Value Kia gave me they told me that they did not want to have a law suit on them because of what Value Kia did not do and that I need to take some kind of action because they did not fix the problem that I paid to be fixed and they gave me passing stickers with the engine light still being on. At this point and time I don't know what to do about my car I have to get back and forth to work and I don't want to get more tickets on my car. What can I do.Desired Settlement: I want Value Kia to pay for the car to get fixed by the [redacted] Dealer and if the car can not be fixed I want another car that will work right and will not have any issues at all, and stop selling cars with issues to people and then give them the run around.

Review: I was told by the manager that if service department needed to keep my car longer than 8 hours I would get another car to use. They have held my car for 2 days without repairing the problem and when I told them what the manager said they told me that that is technically true but because my car is in perfect shape and their service men do not know what the problem is it is nothing they can do. They want me to keep taking off work or being late to keep bring the car back when they should just give me a car to use until they can figure out the problem and fix it. At this point I don't even trust that they can fix the problem.Desired Settlement: I want a rental car until they can figure out the problem or if the car cannot be fixed and it is a factory defect I want a car.

Review: Purchased a 2011 [redacted] and we cannot get it inspected. There is supposed to be a warranty on the car and we found out that no warranty is on the vehicle. We cannot get the sales person on the phone and we still have no answers to what they are going to do about it. The car was bought on June 28, 2014. We are simply asking for the car to be fixed and inspected. They will not authorize the [redacted] dealership to fix and inspect.Desired Settlement: We need to either take the car back and get another on of equal value of have them fix and provide warranty as stated when the vehicle was purchased
